Thank you so much, ladies.
I am going to try both of these to see which works best for me.
I've got a lot of camping rides coming up!
I hope you find one that works for both you & your horse.
The 'great saddle search' can be very frustrating.
I have been gradually conditioning for over a year. I do understand it takes 2-3 years for connective tissues.
Had my vet out for the routine annual today & we both agree that 'he's not an Arab'...
Don't get your knickers in a knot, KY gal.
I did state in my original post that I am using hoof boots.
There is no need for such attitude on your part.
I had 2 stubbens. My hafffie & myself preferred the Wintec. It had nothing to do with cost.
What about a Wintec Wide?
The flaps are AP with VSD.
Was the only saddle that fit my Haffie. I would recommend the flocked, not CAIR panels.
Wintecs are a great durable saddle for the price....
I've got an AERC friend who does 50's, a few 75's & now a 100 in her dressage saddle. It is leather & she uses a cool back saddle pad.
She is comfortable, secure & I've never seen her balance...
The source of 'Hip pain' is hard to dx, as there are so many muscles and nerves near the joint.
After a few months of having doctor's visits becoming my new hobby, I was dx with a tiny partial...
I am being too hasty in my judgement.
Remove the tack first, then let him swim to auction!
If that horse got himself into the canal in the first place, then he'd better figure out how to get back out. Without a 20k rescue. Or he can swim to the nearest auction.
Here's a thought for you.
Watch a CA training video & imagine being the horse he's training.
He's a domineering bully & doesn't care at all about the horse, just uses it like a whore....
If you are planning on serious trail riding and not showing, I would find a NATRC or AERC rider show you their set up. They use what works over the long miles, and a lot of the tack is synthetic....
It's because your saddle is English style synthetic. I had the exact same thing happen to me with my cool back & english wintec.
I now ride in a Abetta endurance saddle with a coolback &...
I am doing the camping & riding thing with my horse & I love it.
EXCEPT the PORTAPOT. I have a luggable loo & it just does not DOO for a long weekend of NUMBER TWO.
I have been experiencing stocking up on all four legs with my horse after conditioning rides on hard ground.
We live in AZ & have lots of hard ground, rocks and heat. Horse is fit (has...
Well, we had a great time.
I was really impressed with the volunteers being so organized & the professionalism of the judge.
I welcomed the feedback I received & am glad we went.
What about these?
I have the regular knee patch breeches in tan (they don't come in white). I...
I'm really looking forward to getting some feedback from the judge.
I think dressage schooling shows are such a great learning experience for the cost of an entry fee.
I'm a big fan of Wintec.
I've owned several over the last couple decades, even before they went to the changeable gullet.
The changeable gullet is a huge plus, as it allows for the horse to...
It's pretty simple for me.
If the time & money (AKA blood, sweat & tears) I put into it doesn't equal the FUN I get out of it.
AND, now as I get older; NOTHING is losing a good night's sleep...
I'm sorry to hear your horse has laminitis. My good horse had laminitis & it was the most gut wrenching thing I'd ever dealt with as a horse owner. To see a horse in so much pain is very hard.
I'm going to attend a schooling dressage show with my trusty trail pony & try my hand at some tests in the intro division.
Test 1 seems like it lacks flow, so I'm thinking of doing tests 2 & 3.
See what the endurance riders are using: the Toklat Coolback (synthetic) or Woolback (real) fleece.
You can get them in any shape & size from Long Riders Gear. They have great service & fast, free...
That power point presentation link for Western Ortho was very informative, Thank you.
It sounds like the doc has done a lot of those procedures with a good success rate; use of cadaver tissue was...
