Did you get the ones with rubber padding? I have had the others really cut the sides of my horse's mouth. It takes two people with two pairs of pliers to make the changeover.
I was annoyed by them I have put a rubber cover on to keep the links correctly aligned.
Historically putting the tongue over the bit can be linked to sore hips, stifles and hocks.
