We have a very handsome 2010 Oldenburg gelding who we are hoping to place in a good home. Sadly, he has developed exostoses (new bone on the surface of a bone) on both hind pasterns. We have xrays...
Though this isn't specifically breeding related, I don't know where else to post so it landed here.
My question is regarding partnerships on youngsters. We have a small breeding program in...
We are hoping to get our soon to be yearling filly to a couple of spring HB shows but we can't seem to find a bridle that doesn't look clunky on her tiny head. Any suggestions?
My Romantic Star and Ironman offspring are both very leggy and fantastic movers. They are both out of TB mares.
Here is Jitter Bug by Just The Best out of DJ Whitney. Photos at 9 days old.
No apologies needed!
Yes, you will receive her registration papers in the mail after the inspection.
Is the mare already approved? Either way, be sure that she walks and trots nicely in hand,...
Three off the top of my head - Westporte, JTB and Figaro. Love them!
Here is a new filly by Redwine out of our TB mare, Truly Prissy. We're still working on a name!
Delivered foal tonight, 5/29/11 - foal did not survive. If anyone in the PNW is in need, please feel free to pass along my email. email@example.com
I am still waiting on a mare that tested at 6.4 for three days and has been lighter than 6.4 now for 48 hours. I'm tempted to go buy a different brand of strip to confirm the numbers..lol. She is...
April 11th, colt, dk bay, star. :D
Hopefully the owner will chime in, but I believe that they are planning on presenting him Old/NA this fall.
I've noticed a few threads recently about stud fee prices, bad marketing, stallion location, etc. factoring into your breeding choices. How much does the stallion owner weigh in on your choice?
What can you tell me about equine wellness programs? What does your vet offer with their packages? Is it more focused towards horse owners with one or two horses rather than 10+ horses?
I've paid $150 - $300 for collections. My vet charges $275 for collections including shipping within the states.
We have six coming this year!

I know Baquero very well so feel free to PM me if you'd like to see some photos of other offspring. He has quite a few babies that have gone from racing careers to h/j/eventing careers. He tends to...
Thank you everyone. This thread has given me a lot of things to visit with my vet about. I really appreciate all of the input and hopefully I'll have a good update in the future!
Tamara - I will check on the Orchard grass. He is at a good weight now (finally), just lacking muscle tone and a good coat.
Munchkin - that is what the original vet said, that it was likely a...
My understanding was that the alfalfa and pelleted grain could be causing more problems if it was indeed his kidneys.
AnimalDoc - thanks for the reply. He gets free choice timothy hay and about 1.5 lbs 2x per day of whole oats.
He has not been scoped or had an abdominal tap. We do have a university available if...
MR - thanks for the thought. I have the three lab work results in front of me. I see glucose (which is normal on all three) but I don't see anything about insulin. Of course, I also don't know what I...
