Very inspiring. Horses have so much to teach us, mostly about ourselves and how to be our best selves...It's amazing. Lucky horse to have you.

Isn't it hard to compare Europe and the USA as it relates to dressage and equestrain sports? Isn't the purpose of the European qualification system to limit class size because so many ride? What...

I have some VERY good friends who are "sideways N people" as you so rudely call Z. How thoughtless, I would surely think in this day and age that value could be found in both the N AND the Z.

There's 101 Dressage Excercises. Its a great book.

I would think a review of the statistics would show that dressage performance has improved. Improved to the point that qualifying scores required for the regional finals have been raised from the...

Is PP related to a frequent poster on this BB?;)

I really do think Eclectic Horseman has hit on the key to improving basic dressage instruction and broadening the base of the dressage program in the USA.

thank you, SGRAY
What in the world is the point? Why would you make USA riders feel a 5 is less sufficient than rather PLAIN OLD sufficient????

Interesting that they would change a 5 from sufficient to marginal. Does the USEF 5 mean the same as an FEI 5?

Oh my goodness. There is no way I could ride once a week and show. I need to ride consistently and try to ride 5 days a week.

Good point. The eventing folks are asking for input from riders, trainers, judges, and Enthusiasts. They want to hear from everyone who is invested in the sport. They are seeking input from all the...

and decide for yourself!
That's why I posted the information about the article in the first place. The magazine is available at most local tack shops.

Thanks, I am in total agreement. Hope all your hard work pays off.

Agreed, life is too short to waste time with a person who judges people based on their race, sex, handicap - whatever. Character and performance count. I'd have to gracefully bow out.

Oh, this is such useful advice! And it starts on the ground and on the lunge.

Oh MY!
Well, the movie Alive provides some insight as to what options people select when in dire need. Who knows what I might do - although my instinct is a definite NO becasue I think I can...

Why do people ask for help from unknown people who can't see the horse and rider except thru a picture? Hard to say, but often they either don't have help or they don't like the help they're getting...

Good job. Enjoy the moment!

No matter where I find out about an instructor, I would want to meet and talk with an instructor, see where they work, watch them ride, and observe them instruct before deciding to take a lesson...
