That's complete crap. People are so money hungry these days.
-
That subject line is just...weird.
-
You nailed. I just can't understand how people are missing that point. I'm NOT overweight by any means and have a waist that allows for my arms to rest comfortably at my sides, and I've also ridden...
-
Nope, still doesn't work. It's the riders length of arms. Reins are reins. This is about a rider not having an arm longer than their torso. Size of horse means absolutely nothing in this case.

I just think it's really funny that in Xenephon's time he knew that a horse that had a high set neck was an asset because it will be able to see out in front more clearly, and it will be naturally...

To those saying the person is on the wrong size horse I just have to ask all of you where you're getting your information. If you really think it through, it's NOT a size of rider to size of horse...

Oh, man, can I relate to this one! I have a long waist and shorter arms. I rode a young horse in front of one clinician a long time ago who had the same obsession as your instructor, and she also...

I am losing it! Or maybe I should say I'm going blind. ;)
Thanks for finding my first rant.

Am I just losing it? (Quite possible, I'm sure.) I know I posted a whinge about the USDF doing a better job of keeping their bedfellow, Dressage Training Online, out of the line of site at their...

I think it doesn't matter if they pick up on it or not. How about taking their money and letting them decide? Who cares if they understand it all or not? Having the opportunity for all to attend...

It's not an issue. It just detracts a bit from the movement when the horse is coming straight at the judge, but it really doesn't negatively impact your scores if your horse is correct and performs...

You beat me to it! I was thinking the exact same thing. Too true! I found that reasoning flawed as well.

Um, well, I rode with him quite a bit at a private stable, and then he was brought to another area I moved to--based on connections made through me, in a round about way. So I know that it can be...

The problem with the guy who works on the problems is that he's not considered "nice" to point out the problems. About 70% of the people who currently ride dressage seem to be looking for...
-
If you want to ride with Henk, you can just organize a clinic with him yourself. Seriously, if you have the people who want to ride and the money to back up that desire, you too can have these top...

Probably only allow Dressage Training Online to tape it for sale online--thus making it UNAVAILABLE to the membership at large, yet again. :sigh:
That one really bugs me, especially when they...

I think you have a point, as far as the USDF is concerned. I don't think they really should be exclusive. Or should be ALLOWED to be exclusive. Then again, does that mean they have to open up...
-
A lot of trainers lie and take their students. Not that I condone it. I also agree that it should be opened up. They symposium at the convention is pretty basic on most things and the trainer...

Bad guess because it doesn't happen. Anyone who blames a bad score on their tack is making excuses. You get the score you earn by your riding and your horse's ability, not your tack.
Now, does...

And sometimes those old time schooling show judges who just haven't bothered with the "L" program are WONDERFUL! I know of a few. It's too bad they haven't done the "L" program and gone to doing...

The judge was in the wrong to do that. There is no rule that says you cannot salute with the whip in hand. And they normally wouldn't notice if you were discreet.
-
If you want to compete a horse, compete it. If you want to win at any level in dressage, you must be schooling one level above the one you are showing. You need the horse to be solidly confirmed in...
