We've added a third to our home stabled crew, an 8 y/o chestnut TB gelding, 17hh. With one retired on a farm south of the river, we have a total of 4 on the payroll.
My neck hurts just watching those guys.
I was wondering the same thing - where are some of these folks? My guess is that some have dedicated more time to Facebook (not me-no Facebook!) or other forums if they have non-horsey hobbies as...
A three day would be very cool! I just have to give a shout out to the jump judges, ring stewards and volunteers who toughed it out in that crap weather on Saturday. They really deserve medals, to...
We did see riders coming in way too fast and either hit the fence or barely clear it, very scary, one was at our fence 2, a very straightforward cabin but on a downhill approach. I kept thinking of...
Our team rode at 4pm after the rain had stopped, the footing was deep but actually other than the warmup not too bad. It was heavy, tiring going for the beast. I've never studded up as big as I did...
I agree completely with this. Zero tolerance policies generally translate into zero thinking policies. We may never know how or why these horses were doped, but if the blood levels were minute...
Mega Hoosier jingles on the way.
And congrats to you Gryhrs, on doing such a great job on your first Prelim! No jumping penalties on XC or stadium and an excellent dressage test.
Great to meet you and congrats on your first Training! My first Training didn't go as well, I fell off in stadium. Looks like you had a great run, he put the pedal to the metal moving between 5...
Absolutely, stadium is definitely the reason I have not moved up. Not that the other phases don't need work, but stadium has proved the biggest challenge for me, at least with my current horse.
Very nice course, very nice show! Enjoy! One minor cuss word at the end, just an expression of relief. Gotta do more cardio!
It's true! See you guys a t Jumpstart.
Riverglen training would be a good move up, I've done it a couple of times. There might be easier move ups, but I don't recall being more scared than normal there. Stadium at Riverglen always...
How exciting! I hope this goes well and we see clones of other great horses. Winsome Adante comes to mind.
Wow! That's impressive. Very well ridden. I doubt we could get a crowd anywhere near that size in the States for a 3*.
It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on!
Thanks everyone, the beast was on fire. I don't know where that horse came from, but I felt like I could jump around Rolex. He's the kind of horse that makes you want to be a better rider.
Super nice. I think that's the same trakehner that used to be on the Training course, which is where you two look like you should be! Love the way he blasted up the first hill, my guy did too.
Great job on a beefy course! And double clear in stadium to boot. Congrats on a very nicely done first prelim, now I won't have to ride against her at training! :)
Great weekend, beautiful weather and great people. Many thanks to Mary Lowry and Alan Northcutt for putting on such a fun show. Nice solid training course and a very, very fun ride.
Very nice, love it. Reminded me of the country song, "Jesus Take the Wheel"!
I use the Allen wrench blanks, but only the day before and have had no problems with them. It does make studding up much easier and faster.
I still run in the Dalmers, they fit my guy well and have mesh ventilated openings which I like, since it gets so blasted hot and humid here. Haven't lost them in the water yet either, knock knock.
Jingles, thank God she was wearing a helmet.
