Fig's fungus around his eyes isn't any better. Vet wants me to finish meds before we conclude he needs something different.
Fresa great but being 4 and sitting around due to a bad winter, is just...
Thanks. Ophthalmologist put kiwayu on losing 12 years ago when this first started. Personally, I think it has done nothing!
Cytology was done and he does not have a fungus. Vet thinks that it's...
Eye is the same! :( Vet came today and we are switching meds. Unfortunately, this is all normal. Thanks for thinking of us.
Not gone, a little better but only 4 days on the meds.
I'm following this thread as my 4 year old socially retarded too!
4th horse is fine, damn QH's are so hardy compared to these ottb's! His name is Focus and he loves on just hay and never seems to have any issues, thank god!
Kiwi's eye is still bothering him....
Meds arrived yesterday from Wedgewood so they will be started today. Hopefully, it knocks it out whatever it is!
I know ringworm is a fungus. A culture wasn't taken but both vets feel it's a fungus because the hair is falling out.
It's a fungus!!! I have a script for a feed thru paste because she said nothing around his eyes. Ohh, the joys!
Don't worry! From what I've been told, I had better chances of winning lotto. :sigh:
Thanks, but I don't think they have a clue. I keep threatening them that I'm throwing them all out in a field with sharp objects and will let them fend for themselves if they don't cut out the vet...
Vet comes tomorrow to perform a cytology on Kiwi's eye if the snow storm doesn't hit us too badly otherwise Wednesday. Ugh!
I have 4! Vet coming for Kiwi's eye tomorrow if we don't get hit by the snow storm that badly and the "raccoon eyes" is my mini, Fig.
And yes, I've put a new wing on her house and probably bought...
Vet might be moving my appointment up to tomorrow instead of Wednesday so I'm just going to wait until the vet comes out to ask. Besides, maybe it's not ring worm????
He's very itchy, skin is looking damaged besides hair loss. It's BOTH eyes which is weird and looks like a raccoon.
My guys get 2 tablespoons of baking soda just tossed in their feed. It's salty and they seem to gobble it up.
I think my mini has ring work around his eyes, such as his eyelids and surrounding skin. Vet coming Wednesday for my other horse so I will ask then, but what can you put on it being it's his eyes????
No experience with trailering but they saved my friend's horses life when it came to foundering!!!! Horse went from crippled to cantering outside within 5 minutes.
My vet recommends baking soda daily for horses with gas issues. It works wonders for my horse and goat!!!
I don't feel bad for you guys, sorry! We've had 52" so far this winter on the Island and another 6-8" tonight. NONE of it has melted and when it does, I hope my horses know how to swim...
Go see an ophthalmologist. These things can be stopped but you need a specialist. I've known several horses with the same problem that have gone on with LONG normal lives.
Kiwi's eye is still messed up! Today marks a week on the natamycin so I will email the vet today or tomorrow to discuss our next plan. Ulcers still present on his eye VERY CLEARLY and it still...
He's had 1 piles since yesterday which was early this morning and was not in typical ball like. It was one solid ball. I'm thinking he had an impaction high up that the vet couldn't feel.
Kiwi has pooped 3x today and looks completely normal, minus is semi closed eye. :sigh:
I've been watching him all day through my security cameras. My mother stopped by on her lunch break and said he drank some hot water mixed with a handful of grain.
