I have a saddle on trial that might actually work!!
It's and older Schleese Pouvoir. It's not tight under the points like so many others, has tons of wither clearance, fits my leg wonderfully. ...
LOL. I can show you a photo of one of my wooden prefab sheds upside down from a storm 2 summers ago.
Black Country has been suggested several times but the exact model/configuration I need seems quite rare within my budget.
Thanks everyone. Good suggestions. The only reason I'm saying foam is because we don't have easy access to qualified fitters.
The thing is, this horse is just 4 yrs old so he'll change. This is why I'm looking on the cheaper side as it will be a temporary saddle.
Looking at some of the "adjustable" ones now.
Thanks. I'm in the camp that says saddle should not move. This saddle does sit low but doesn't touch the wither. I'd prefer more clearance.
A saddle I just bought is making that kidney shaped dry spot pretty equally on both sides. According to that schleese video it's normal. I'm confused, I always thought dry spots meant too much...
Fits a wide/flatter backed horse, forward or longer flap, foam filled (we have no easy access to saddle fitters) NOT a Hoop Tree, narrow twist.
Priced under $2k.
If it doesn't exist, how...
Vet wrap and duct tape.
There's 20 acres near us in the midwest for $650k, been for sale for a while so I bet it will go 50-100k lower. House, indoor (heated) and outdoor, lots of stalls, 2 pastures, apartment. 30 minutes...
Midwest and Plains states, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, etc
I replaced all our fencing with the centaur version of the coated high tensile you posted above. Looks nice and very safe IMO. All four strands of mine are electric, I probably didn't need to...
Thanks. Thought that was the case.
Dover Crowne padded bridles can be found on sale for under $70. I have several.
Posting this in eventing as monoflaps are more common here.
My question is, all else being equal, should a monoflap and the same saddle with two flaps fit the same?
I'm trying out a few...
Nice looking bays!!!
The 2014 Baby thread is sharing updates. How about updates for 2015?! :)
I'll go first ;) My yearling's first show. https://flic.kr/p/GWwEeV
I'd also lover to hear the sire/dam of each ribbon winner. I'm betting stallion owners would too ;)
Thanks all. I've done FB groups and dreamhorse so far.
As said above, that is going to be a long trailer and with all that weight on the bumper, not likely a smooth ride. You'll probably gethe a lot of bounce at that pivot point.
If you saw it, you would feel differently, it's a giant number and looks like a toddler wrote it.
I bought a young horse last winter that has a large freeze brand on his rump. I thought it would blend better with his summer coat but it's gotten brighter :(
He's a rose grey and the brand is...
Thanks for the tips! Excellent ideas. She did really great today and actually did stand nicely once, I'll buy that photo ;)
We have a few things to work on and learned a lot in our first outing.
Our first HB class is coming up. We've worked on the walk and jog with the bridle but standing Gumby up has been a challenge.
Any tips on getting them into the "hunter" stance? She's either...
