If only. 9 out of 10 times it seems it doesn't go well...wrong item, never bothered to order, ignored actual request. With 3 or 4 places locally the "order book" seems to be where dreams go to die...
  3. Buying blankets/tricky to fit things online

The local tack stores don't always have what I need blanket wise (ponies), and special ordering is always a special sort of nightmare.

  5. What's the biggest variable that affects your happiness in the horse world?

Enjoyed the last thread on this subject, and I'm curious about a different spin.

If you can go out with a big strided horse it might help too. My Icelandic taught our Arab to have a much bigger walk, and my POA can relatively easily outdistance Warmbloods stride for stride.

The bigger issue isn't the solid mouth, since there are solid snaffles that use direct reining. The harder transition is to leverage, since the mouthpiece does funny things when direct reined.

Though the rule is dumber than a box of rocks, it's not surprising.

Going to anything with leverage is not going to be appropriate, since a Baucher has no leverage.
