One of the problems I've seen is that these 'up and coming', but not yet BNT or for most nowhere near BNT are trying to charge BNT or almost BNT prices. Uh uh. Not happenin'.

I've only had one lease experience. Most of it was on-site and that worked very well. Once the foal was a few weeks old the lesee whined so much that she wanted it at home that I finally gave in....

Most registries won't even score foals older than weanlings because of the growth changes. Even if they are perfect, conformation wise, they don't get scored.
-
First off, since you didn't say, did you treat the mare for the infection when she lost the foal? And have you had a culture and cytology done on her this year - when she first comes into heat?...
-
Don't know about the body color, but I see no trace of black in her mane or tail.

So sorry that you lost your foal. I lost one at 10 days who was born with a congenital defect. I had an LFG that stated foal stands and nurses. Well he did and I lost him at 10 days. Contract said...

My mare looked Like Laurierace's a couple of times. She got so big she could barely waddle, never mind walk. What I would do, Stolensilver, is to ask very serious questions about foal size for any...

This was a tough one. She is an ELITE mare and her first foal last year was Colt and Site Champion at his inspection, and of course, you can all imagine what the Qredit foal would have been like.

Breeding is definitely not for the faint of heart. I just lost my Qredit foal out of my ELITE Bugatti mare - a beautiful chestnut colt with 2 hind socks and a small star at not quite 9 months into...

Hi Didi, I have 2 Consuls (ISF) out of my Irish Sport Horse mare that are unbelieveable! They have really, really nice gaits, super dispositions, bold and curious, but easy to handle. My 3 yo is now...

I'm a small breeder too. You can see some of mine on my Home Page. http://tranquilityfarm.com

So sorry for your kitty. I found Snickers curled up in the warmest, most enclosed spot she could find. Wouldn't come for dinner. Took her to the vet and found out she was in the warmest spot she...

I have sleep apnea and I'm not overweight. Couldn't stay awake during the day and couldn't sleep at night. The first CPAP machine I had, I loved. Got the script for it and was sent to a medical...

Man, can you twist words. I know there are some very bad breeders out there and there is NOTHING in my post that tries to claim that is not true. What bothers me is that so many of these posts, and...

I find many of the comments re breeders trying to pawn off bad horses, or breeders not feeding or bringing up foals correctly and not handling them very insulting. Who on earth are you dealing...

So, one 'eye witness' was watching and he dropped dead under his rider walking out of the ring, and the other 'eye witness' report is that he got loose, was rolling around, was taken off in his...

Wait a minute. I thought I was pretty good at math, but there seems to be a disconnect here.
You're talking about spending 5 or 6K for a baby (kind of low if you want something really nice) and...

Actually, I believe that the horses that go to the Pan Am Games for dressage are not allowed to have competed at GP. It's a Small Tour Test.

And then there are those of us with really nice horses who send out (or provide a link to) good pictures and videos, have a conversation or 2 with a potential buyer who promises to come and look and...

I had a very sick foal a couple of years ago that had to go to the vet hospital. Maiden mare, but she was a fabulous mother. Watched everything they did with the foal, but didn't interfere. He was...

I've had a couple - a dark coppery red chestnut and her daughter, a liver chestnut. Pull them out of months in a field, dust them off with just a brush and put on your sunglasses!:D:winkgrin:

But do remember that the TB stallion MUST be approved for breeding with that registry. The mare also, but she can be inspected and approved when the foal is presented.

Most handlers don't charge anywhere near $175 and no one that I know ever charges for a Championship Class. That's to the credit of the handler.
-
No, the Registry does NOT have to sponsor the class. You just have to submit papers to prove your horse is registered with a particular registry. A couple of friends and I sponsored the ISR Sport...
