Welcome to the PC family!! I was not lucky enough to be in PC, buy my children are. I am also the DC for our local club. Pony Club offers great opportunities and now Horsemasters...
You might consider becoming a Pony Club center. You pay an annual fee, get insurance through PC, get a prepared curriculum, and some of your marketing is already done for you.
I have no idea, but I am leaning toward toxicity of some kind.
Why not contact your nearest Pony Club? PC's are always looking for experienced alumns and usually have lesson horses or leases available.
Please go and read Deb Bennett's paper on everything you should do with a horse before they are 4. These are things she teaches horses before she rides them, useful life skills that will keep them...
try them on. . . . . I did not like my Aerowear. Gave it to DD and bought a Tipp Eventer Pro which I like much better
One thing that I think merits SERIOUS consideration is the change in feed. Our horses here eat a lot of timothy. In other places, timothy is very expensive and may not be available at the boarding...
Well, I do not have an air ride trailer and all 4 of our horses did ok. It was two days. We had two drivers, and the temps were very moderate. They did not do GREAT, as they were all a little sore...
It is doubtful you would get a professional to haul one horse on your specific dates anyway. They usually have to give you a range and that might be a problem unless you want to fly out and hope...
I have to say I agree with Mosey. This year we have our first pig, a large black, and he will be our last.
You could always just go get one at ROLEX!!
I recommend the new Tipperary as well. It is safety tested and comfortable and not too hot. Be sure you get help with sizing, because it is not as easy as your coat size and not east to tailor!
I was so glad I had everything packed in my tack trunk the night before. And so sad when I arrived at the show grounds without it!!
Sierra trading post?
Oh sorry, I call BS on that. Have you seen the USEF/FEI budgets??? It is all about priorities. When my refrigerator goes out, it becomes a priority to replace it, even if it means we are all...
Dr. Jenny Susser. She's the best. Just google her.
I would suggest looking at a thorowgood. There are some recent threads about this saddle and it would give you some chance of fitting other horses. You can trial one through Trumbull mtn, I think.
Another vote for the micklem!
I would maybe add monthly pics emailed to owners. They need to see that their old boys are doing okay and not ribby and worm infested with no hay.
If I were you, I'd get goretex and not worry about the look.
I don't wrap mine at all. I just apply the desitin mix thickly twice a day. If you are going to have mud, cover with a diaper and vet wrap.
I feel your pain. My daughter's horse is IR and I am struggling. I did put him on Chaste Tree Berry and that helped, but honestly, I could not get his IR under control without exercise.
I second Julie Wolfert. If your kids are pony club, Scot Fernandez is in the area.
So glad to hear this and thanks for the update!
