    My Chestnut TB/X mare and my Palomino TB/Welsh mare are both very dappled. Theirs usually stays all summer as well.

    I used to have two bay STB who both dappled as well.

    I would say your regulator is shot...500gal can very quickly leak out...
    If under warranty you should be ok, if not I know in the price in Canada a Reg is about $125-$150, not sure about the US....
