I could get a sticker that says "Cross Country Courage" for the bottles!
-
I actually like this idea! It is an Adult Rider party, after all ;)

What would you want to see in one if you received it at an event?
Vetwrap, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. are standard but have you ever gotten a really neat gift you loved? I am trying to put this...

I have had this issue in the past on green horses that find the wider oxers intimidating or come underpowered to the base and stop.
A good exercise for schooling is to set up 9' placing rails...
-
If you want something in that age range, I'd say between 30-60K for one that's been there done that and is sound...not sure about the West coast though.
-
I wish this type of thing was listed in the omnibus instead of "average for horses with some experience at this level"....will need to rethink my entry now but thank you for sharing about the course!!
-
I am entered to do Training there, it will be my horse's 2nd one. Their website states that a new water has been built, and my trainer said that the water was really the issue at Training level last...

Pronounced "Ver-say-uhls" by the locals, of course ;)

I had a similar "SH**!" moment at IEA a few weekends ago, only difference was that it was in showjumping so a lot of people heard! whoopsie :) you are not alone!
-
Not to hijack, but that article's photo with the rider laying on the horse's neck....yikes. If the horse is so "easy" to ride, why do you look like that?!
-
I love the Coursewalk app as well! It is very accurate and being able to review the fences/min markers in order is very helpful!
Great idea on the "set it on jump and walk around" method -duh!!
-
Rider is entered in the CCI* at FRVPC in a few weeks...was a little scared to see that honestly.
-
We had a fun and educational weekend as well! The rain made things interesting, but it all worked out. It is just amazing what our horses will do for us! Everything ran really well and I was...

Awesome, thanks Libby!!!! I am dying to try out the soap!
So exciting that we have a lot of COTH'ers in the 3-day!
-
OOOOH I love the idea of silver sparkly yarn for my grey!!!! I will be at IEA too, although I have a friend coming to help groom and she's offered to braid him with waxed thread. I usually stick to...

Who's going? Weather looking a little iffy but temps forecasted lower than expected :)
We'll be there in the N3DE, super excited!!!
-
It is a fantastic event and the organizers have done a great job of improving every year. I am local as well and have seen some lovely new fences for the CIC & CCI courses being built recently. The...

Read and re-read "That Winning Feeling" by Jane Savoie!!

I don't use poultice either...have had it cause big legs on sensitive horses if they have even the tiniest nick or cut. I prefer to ice in tub so you get feet/pasterns/fetlocks as well as tendons,...

This is awesome, really looking forward to N3DE at IEA with my OTTB! (how's that for acronyms?) ;)
-
Who's going? It's the first recognized event of the season in Area IV, looks like there are quite a few entries.
We will be there doing my boy's 1st Novice, very excited and hoping the rain...

I've had 2 so far...the first one was a nut who spent more time on his hind legs than with all 4 feet on the ground. He definitely looked, moved and jumped like an eventer should, but the brains...
-
I feel your pain...I have enjoyed stadium on previous horses, but my new guy is very sensitive/came with some "hunter baggage" so we have struggled with this phase as well. I have the same feeling...
-
I second the roaching idea...much neater than and unbraided mane, especially at Prelim.
I wouldn't be caught dead with an unbraided mane above BN, and a lot of dressage judges are very...
