My trailer is going in for service this week.
Just an annual check of brakes re-pack bearings, if needed etc.
Trailer has sat on my farm for about a year unused, so I want all systems in good...

Sorry, I didn't check...but did you post this in the Driving Forum?
He really doesn't look too badly out of shape and must be a saint as even Newbie Driver Wannabe Me can see that cart does NOT...

Based on this alone he is not the horse for you.
You can't do the ring work you want w/o a fight.
You can't trailride unless you have someone to go with.
Too many holes in this horse for it to be...

I think they are ALL complicated.Horses are not vending machines, they think and can change from day to day if not minute to minute.Someone on here has a signature that says "Ride the horse under you"

Yup, I meow. But only to my housecat - she of the Tallulah Bankhead raspy meows. The barncats get English only.{shrugs} I can't tell you why the difference.Maybe because the barncats are not nearly as...

Agree with fordtraktor.
My horses name themselves - show names come after I know them a bit better.
H/J TB came to me named Vernon - show name became Hey Vern!
Dating myself: this was in the...

KR:
You have a gift.
Your writing is so readable (for lack of a better word) you really ought to consider publishing a la Reynard Ridge's $500 Pony.
I look forward to the publication of A Right...

{{{HUGS}}}There really is no pain like it.When they go a piece of your heart goes with them. You will know when you're ready to get another horse - not a replacement, another to love in a different...

AND edge the competition out of your way (when the judge isn't looking, of course...)

Oh, she is SHWEET!
I have a solo barncat - now 8yo.
She & her brother came to me as around 6-8wk old kittens - just wandered up my driveway one night the first Summer I was here.
I kept them in...

OK, KR - I hear ya on the WishIWas3People Day.
But write about the flipside:
*The day the weather is perfect.
*The horses behave like the obedient critters we know they are most of the time.
*All...

Thanks for the visual, Bluey
....2Dogs pats self on back for figuring that one out all by herself...
Clanter: now do I need greater clearance?

IIWM I wouldn't chance it unless your vet okays.
But then, I am the owner of a WB who came to me with a 60% occlusion in his right eye - the result of a poorly treated infection.
Resulting scar...

 I am con-fused - why 18' for roping ?
PSA: I am a total lifelong English rider, so forgive probable stoopid question.
ETA: could it be to allow for thrown rope to not tangle in the...

mswillie: sorry your neighbors aren't better poultry-keepers.
But for those who think chickens smell, sorry - I have to side with megaladon & Bacardi1:
Not unless you aren't keeping your coop...

I lucked out & found a pair of Merrell clog-type slipons at a thrift store ($5!!!)
The material is some sort of nylon with plenty of ventilation and washable or hose-offable.
After a year of...

Sorry, I side with the Enablers here.
They are about 10000X more amusing than I ever imagined 5# of feathers could be.
And if you can handle the attrition of losing the occasional bird to...

OP: I feel your pain.
My BTDT TB would load onto anything until I got my brand-new 2H BP.
Then he became an iffy loader about 50% of the time.
What worked for me was making sure my own anxiety...

Ace will not fix this problem.
I totally agree with those who say find:
A) the right group to go out with
or
B) a BTDT trail buddy.
Solution B worked for me & my OTTB who viewed the...

Go, Gus!
Yup - he'll Forgive & Forget if my feral pony experience counts.
My former Run Awaaaaaaay!!!!! pony now comes up to me in the pasture to be haltered.
He was also willing to do this...

i have a Soup Chef too.
His water bucket totally reeks in hot weather and has to be dumped & refilled daily to clean out the muck from his "marinating" hay.
And in Winter he always has a wall...
