I would encourage you to give Persian Star (full TB) another look. Clinton is not that far a drive from AB - there are often trailers going back and forth, and I bet Nancy would pick up from Little...

Any chance you could post all of them? I know some people who might be interested in the actual prints! (They or friends/family competing.)

Since nobody else has posted the saying:
One white foot, buy him. Two white feet, try him. Three white feet, deny him. Four white feet and a strip on his nose, take him out and feed him to the...

That's why I don't ride mares. No need for two of us to be grumpy in the morning
-
Yes, but might also make him hotter. I haven't really had any issues - they are a good supplement especially if you are at a barn that doesn't want to "do" several types of hay.

Don't know what's in that feed - but I would consider adding more sources of fat (rice bran, oil). I usually put rice bran in (phosphorus) if I'm feeding beet pulp (calcium). One of these days I'll...

Depends on turn-out, how much & what kind of grain they are getting. While I agree that sometimes just letting them fatten up first is good, other times they get too wired & nervous on a huge amount...

Pony Club can only do so much. It really depends on the instructors AND the student's willingness to learn. Not speaking of Laine specifically (I don't know much about her situation), but I agree...

David O'Connor was overheard at a clinic saying that Waylon's behaviour at the Pan Ams would definitely keep him off the next round of teams until he was more mature.

Another anecdote - we travelled to a CCI*/** last summer with 6 horses - three in the CCI*, 2 in the HT and 1 greenie. Despite all the FEI passport protocols (and expense), we came home with 3...

Was sorry to see this too. I have nothing against Hawley, but if selection politics have anything to do with it, I don't think she'll go. The only excuse they need is her unfortunate show-jumping...

Reading my above post, I will go with "too easy for the best".
If you're not challenged enough, go do some jumpers or dressage or point-to-points or sell your horse and start a new horse.
-
Couldn't agree more. Competence across country can only be improved by practicing riding across country. Stop making the dressage & show-jumping harder, which just encourages more time in the ring....
-
Wondered about the reasoning behind this decision, too.
-
Couldn't agree more with NeverTime. I only got that far due to a great horse who was amateur (me)- friendly. We were confident together. The second horse that I got to Int. was even more...

I chose : Lived outside mecca, brought along inexperienced horse, cliniced with BNTs.
That was how I made it up to Prelim - I lived 4-6 hours from regular BNT instruction of any kind. Mostly...

I am using Firefox - I had to do a manual refresh (CTRL + R) - realized that after being told it's the same link.

Where are the XC results posted?
-
Reed, I agree with you, and I tried earlier to edit my post to say "but many horses have NO trouble on XC... etc.", but COTH was freezing up so I couldn't fix it.
-
dsgshowmom, I don't think comparisons of equestrian sports is all that helpful in this context. And I will say, "let [the sport] who is without sin cast the first stone".

Someone could notify Carr-Hughes productions. All YouTube usually requires is a request to remove it by its rightful owner, and it will do so promptly.
-
Agree that poor dressage can point out holes in the training, BUT many horses have NO trouble changing leads on command out in cross-country, even if they struggle with the incredible demands placed...

Neither horse nor rider was injured in that picture, which was taken at the Athens Games.
-
Well define "rare", and numbers. Tasker was basically saying "eventing is so dangerous, I decided to do dressage and hunting instead". Well, hunting is dangerous too - there are fixed obstacles and...

Comparing disciplines isn't productive. There are risk sports & some people choose to participate in them. Of course we need to look at ALL the data and try to minimize catastrophic injuries and...
