Well, time for all eyes to be on her now.
"Four additional horses were also found suffering from malnutrition, according to authorities. Three of the surviving horses involved in the case are boarders' horses"
Also, supposedly there is a lesson program going on as well...NO ONE noticed these horses??? No one at all? Sounds like the farm gets some foot traffic regularly...
Who knows what experience level these boarders were?
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
whatever the circumstances, it is sad.
But let's don't slam the entire state of Pennsylvania please! There are plenty of good horsemen/women here too. The frauds are everywhere.
I never understood how she just continued to come on here like nothing. The poor filly, the skinny horses, etc.
Hey, aspen, we know you're reading this thread. You're disgusting for what you've done to those horses. Shame on you.
I wonder what happened to FrostyOak Isabella, the blind filly. Aspen: Did you put her down?
There are 1-2 active threads on the front page of COTH's Off Course that are people looking in PENNSYLVANIA for places to board horses. By putting a separate thread here, with PA in the title...it warns those shoppers to avoid that barn in PA. If I just post in their thread- it could get lost. Hell I should go change the title to include the word "Pennsylvania."
That was my logic. No one anywhere stated asshats are unique to PA.
Filly is still with her. Still not halter broke. Still for sale.
Wondering if that filly is the 4th horse from the article?
From her website under Updated 2013 horses for sale:
Mention of the filly on FB too, looking to place it. Still not mention of uveitis or even that she's not halter broke yet..just listed as "standoffish." :no:Quote:
FrostyOak Isabella Nov 2009 1/4 CB Sporthorse Welsh filly mature 15.0 She is an amazing mover, very hardy, not halter broke. (All Eyez On Me X One Man's Gamble) $Contact for Price Negotiable to a training home
She was on here this morning viewing this thread a little after 6 am. She was on again doing the same at 3 pm.
At least now we know why she had tons of threads asking how to treat serious problems without calling a vet. It was a vet that reported her for neglect. Can't have vets out if your property is loaded with sick, injured and/or starving horses.
Many to most of her stock is listed as untouched "due to having no time" and yet she's had time to attend shows.
She's had time to attend shows, build a barn, get online and peruse COTH (as she was doing 10 minutes ago), etc.
I hope the boarders can be contacted and can get their horses out of there. I wonder if they are out of state or are beginner owners and have no clue their horses are suffering.
Methinks the prosecutor would love to have all those old threads.
Interesting news interview. Maria Hayes will have to deal with the consequences of her neglect in court and in the public eye. One thing that was positive is that the four horses which were thin in the winter are now in good weight according to this report. That is (or appears to be) a refreshing change from the usual starvation stories posted here, where years go by with repeated visits by authorities and the abuser never changes. I hope this is a bad chapter in her life and she has truly reformed, and her animals don't suffer any more.
And the defenders are out in the comments on the article. They always are, aren't they? No one wants to believe that someone they know is capable of this.
If I remember correctly there were a few posters asking everyone to back off and not be so mean on the blind filly thread too.
Nothing was going to get Aspen to change her song and dance, I don't think. I hope this has done it, but I seriously doubt it. Not everyone should own animals. And she's one of them.
I just can't imagine. I just ordered my second grazing muzzle.... :(
She's HURT? SHE's the victim?
She got an old horse from auction, put a blanket on it, and never EVER checked the animals condition and it died of starvation and SHE's the victim?
Excuse me while I vomit.
Grrr. Someone should post a link to this thread in the comments. I won't do it because you have to give all your personal information to be able to log in. I'm shocked that people agree to that.
