Help me pick a hacking/schooling bit?
My horse goes PERFECTLY jumping in a Happy Mouth Dr. Bristol Dee Ring, but I'd like to find something to hack/school him in so that he doesn't get too dull to the Dr. Bristol and continues to respect it. He's a TB, occasionally he'll get a little too fast, but a quick half halt/check and he comes right back. I think he tends to like happy mouths or rubber and double jointed bits better, but I haven't tried him in something all metal. I'm afraid that his mouth is too small for a single joint especially with the nutcracker effect, though I maybe wrong. So far I've tried a loose ring double jointed happy mouth with a roller, which he HATED. He was so unresponsive to it, wouldn't pick up a canter without running and running, it was pretty bad.
