This is a fascinating concept.
I shall have to try it.

For those syringing... I find this syringe to be a GODSEND...

I've had good luck with adding them to soaked beet pulp with a little molasses for extra incentive. When Zil sliced her hock open back in August she was on bute and smz's for quite a while, she ate it every time. Of course, she is a bit of a piggy.
I've also been told that the Torani peppermint syrup (the stuff for coffee) works well to flavor medicine, but haven't tried it yet.
tough horse I put the smz's in a 60 cc syringe, add water, when dissolved, then squirt in horses mouth. Then a horse cookie or feed afterwards.
I use the powder and mix a molasses slurry I pour over feed. My horses are ultra picky and this has been the ONLY thing that has worked.
Ditto to the cold water. They dissolve very quickly. I do not have an issue with it clumping. If its really watery, I put it on my horses feed. Or just squirt into the mouth.
Well my horses drink their beer, but they don't use it to take their meds.
All of the prescription drugs I've ever gotten from the human pharmacy for my animals, script written by vets, for my dogs and cats and horses has said:
Do not take with alcohol.
Do not drive.
SO I presume my vet would not want my horses to drink and dope. Just as they shouldn't drink and drive.
Given the size of a horse and the amount of beer that can fit in a syringe, worrying that the beer might have an intoxicating effect in combination with antibiotics is probably not highly realistic.
Dissolve them in a little Coca-cola. You can either put it directly on grain or make a paste and syringe it in.
My guy ate it right up on his grain when done this way.
The Coke works when flat too- no refrigeration needed.
