Selling my horse's tail
Now that I have your attention... :D
So every year I hock (yep, up to the hocks) my horse's tail when winter arrives, to keep it out of the mud
He's a TB with a tail like a friesian
Every spring it's back to the ground
Until the following winter, I have to trim it regularly to keep it off the ground
So I figured, why not make $ off of it
After all, he's a hard keeping TB, who costs an arm and a leg in feed
So anyone knows where you can sell a tail??
So many QH and hunters out there w/fake tails. Where do the companies get the hair to make all those, apart from slaughter horses. And do they use those anymore since they're not killed here??
And I'm hearing stories of people having their horse's tails cut off, at night, in their fields??
Try contacting Custom Tails. http://www.customtails.com/ Sold about a 1/2 pound tail to Barb last month.
What colour is it??? My horse is sadly lacking in the tail department haha
Slaughtered horse hair from China.

I make swatters out of tails. But I do not purchase.
The owner gives me a tail section. I custom craft a riding swatter out of 1/2 in the colors the owner likes and give back at no charge.
Then the other 1/2 I keep for my and my families needs.
If interested PM me. If not....well I always love the tails that grow, grow, grow. Good luck selling.
Mane and tail on my 3 yr old grulla Morgan coupled with his yak winter coat has his doing a Cousin It impression! Too cute!
I think fake tails are stupid too. An older QH lady once told me they were used to hide the fact that QH looked so crippled behind, when they moved. She hated what the QH people had become.
I think I send an e-mail to CustomTails, never heard back. Will send a 2nd msg.
Horse is bay btw, so black tail, which I'm told is not worth much as it's so common of a color :-)
