Smartphones for dummies crash course please!
Hubby and I are looking at getting a pair of smartphones, but are a bit overwhelmed by the choices of devices and plans available. I currently have an old Motorola flip phone on a pay-as-you-go plan. It can barely text, and gets very poor reception at the barn but has survived a fall in the toilet and a full laundry cycle. Hubby has never owned a cell phone in his life.
We want to be able to get ahold of each other reliably. Being able to occasionally check email while away from the computer would be nice too. We are not really into social networking (I check my fb once a day, him once a week), and never went down the virtual music road.
I would want a reliable device that gets good reception, as sturdy as possible (I am a klutz!), decent battery life. Debating whether or not a keyboard is essential or if I would rather have a big screen. Also thinking of getting a tablet to use at home.
So what does it sound like we need? iphone, android, blackberry?
