I had just begun to think we had survived a year without any hurricanes that came all the way up.... spoke too soon. :P

I live on the coast of NC - it came offshore of us, we had winds at about 35/40 and rain for two days nonstop. It's still blowing 25 today.

Getting a generator after this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husbands cell phone charger fits both Kindles..;)

8:30pm, winds heavy, still happy to have power, many around us don't. lights flickering occasionally. Ponies tucked in and checked, dogs don't want to go out to the bathroom . . .

I feel lucky--for all that wind/rain just a couple branches down here in NoVA I think the derecho in June probably took out the weakest ones on our property already. Ponies are angry about being stuck inside but are otherwise fine. Whew.

Sounds like it was much worse in MD/DE/NJ though.

We just got electricity and internet back. Thank goodness for being in the lea of the mountain and high enough to not flood. The generator was awesome! No damage here, whew!
