Health EZ Hay Feeder?
Anyone have one or seen one in action? For reference:
It seems like a neat idea and way easier to fill than most hay bags/nets. But the holes are kind of big... not sure if it would be considered a slow feeder?
There are some people who use them at the barn where I board, they are ok, but don't seem to hold up as well as some of the nets.
My personal favorite: busyhorse.com
I actually have the busy nets! :) Just thought I might like to rotate between a few different styles to give the horses' brains something to work on, LOL.
I bought two initially, and one was destroyed just two days after the warranty ran out (I think it is 90 days). I wouldn't say that horse is particularly tough on things, but he's big and I'm pretty sure he thought it was the best butt scratcher ever, hence the feeder got smushed. The holes are big, so it works best if you have hay that is long stemmed, coarser, and packed together somewhat.
I use small mesh hay nets and they are a lot easier, durable, cheap, and slow them down more. If I really want to impede the hay flow, so to speak, I double bag.
