Stallion for this young mare? Double up Rubinstein?
Dark brown, rising 4yo. 16.2hh SOLID mare by Rosario out of a refined Holsteiner TB mare (with no bad characteristics I think except high energy levels). We want to get one foal from her before a dressage career.
Temperament is good. Lots of bone although slightly pigeoned toed. I love the fact that all her life she has appeared to stand and move uphill. Always engaged from behind.
Not really interested in an "professional ride" - training is hard enough without the horse being overly sensitive.
I have no colour preference though I would avoid a chestnut if there are two stallions of equal quality.
Mostly I am interested in a stallion that will compliment her. The foal would be for dressage.
I feel that maybe she could have a bit more suspension.
The mare is by Rosario - would you breed her to a horse with Rubinstein up close in the pedigree - I love Hampton but have heard the semen isn't so great.
Also - semen must be frozen from Europe for export. Most US stallions are unavailable for us - though at one time Budweizer and Feiner Stern exported chilled semen successfully to Australia.
