Just because I figured not many people wanted to be looking through a thread from 2003.
post away :)

THANK YOU TO MY SS (who didn't include her sn in the note)!!!! The baby pad and polos are gorgeous! And they look particularly sharp on the black warmblood I've been riding...;) He enjoyed the treats muchly. :) Which is good, 'cause he's kind of picky... Also, I love the tack cleaning stuff and the curry - all of which will be much used. Again, thanks so much!!!!

Hey guys, not to be a killjoy, but I asked about doing a thank you thread earlier and was directed to put thank yous on the original 2006 SS thread to save bandwidth and to avoid double posting and confusion--there are several who have posted their thank yous there already. Again--not trying to be mean--just thought I would save Lamb and Erin some time and trouble.

That would be me!! I am pleased you like your gifts--especially the wine glasses. I coveted yours so much that Cindy painted me a set (with speckled ponies) for my birthday!
I really enjoyed being your SS!

Snkstacres was my Secret Santa! And she was an awesome, wonderful Secret Santa! And I have to confess that I haven't sent my packages out yet because I'm "busy". I feel just a bit small (but I bought boxes and tape and labels on my way home, to make good... ).
Anyway, in the midst of fire clean-up and extraordinary horse care needs, snkstacres managed to pack up a beautiful box of delights for horse, dog, cat and moi! Lotions and shampoo/conditioner and cat toys and dog and cat food and horse treats and and AND! I'm at work now so I may even be forgetting something... oh there was chocolate too! Cocoa and candy. And the blingiest best big present, a beautiful halter and lead -- and the halter is bedecked with Swarovski crystals! Can you SAY "Pony Princess"?!?! :D
I am so happy with everything, and can't believe (well I've seen her posts and threads so I *can* believe) Lori's generosity at this time. Thank you SOOOOO much.

I have the loveliest saddle pad now, with the Pony's very own name on it. First, I wanted to drag it down to the barn and ride in it EVERY DAY. Then, I decided it was too "nice" and I should save it for showing. Then I realized I would have to ask Janet if I can actually do that - show with a pad with your horse's name on it.
So, confusion being the better part of inaction, I left it on the couch. And took a photo of it - when my wee-est cute child happened to be sleeping under it: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2425702340061200196DKyftJ
I finally took it off the couch and slung it over my dressage saddle, which is in my living room because it doesn't fit the Pony and I keep meaning to find someone local who can fit a Passier, but haven't gotten around to making any calls yet (no, not true! I have made some calls, but haven't found anyone who can actually fit the Passier yet). And the pad looks really nice on top of the saddle in my living room.
So nice, I am going to leave it there so the Geek can weep when she sees it.

AND....she says something else is coming!
I got it today!!! :D
I want to watch it sooo bad. But it will get to you unopened, though there might be clawmarks on it, lol.
There is one other little thing I saw at the tack store, if it's still there I'll grab it tomorrow.
There are two ways home from the racetrack - one that goes by Chinese food and one that goes by the tack store. People might wonder why it takes me 2.5 hours to make a 1.5 hour drive  Anywhoooo.... I opted for Chinese food today  but tomorrow I will be strong ;)
Thank you again to my Secret Santa :D I've been cheating on the calander, already have Jan 1st & 2nd done ;)

_GiGi_ ....again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I've got my keys sitting out on my desk and I just keep looking at my keychain thinking, "that's my boy!!!" :)
And then as it happened, I went out to the barn Monday night and since it had warmed up a bit my Snow-pony didn't have her blanket on. And since it had warmed up a bit it was MUDDY. And for the first time since I've had her she was covered head to toe in mud mud MUD!! And then I had a brush that could clean her up!! She likes her new halter so much too!! She's a wimp for pony and actually gets halter rubs, so the padding is great!! LOVE the leather too :) I'm just so excited about everything!

OMG!!!! WOW....HANNAH (tarheelmd07) AND SPRITE!!!!! Presents, presents and more presents!!!! I just got home and what a WONDERFUL feeling to see Santa's box on the kitchen table!!!
And I can't believe I told you that you should be a photographer.....and you are!!!!!!! The cards are breathtaking!!!! You have a fantastic eye for capturing the essence of a horse! Unbelievable!!! Ironically, my daughter Andi, has been playing around with a camera taking some shots at the barn and local horse shows. She is going to have a fit over these note cards. Trust me.....they will be framed in her room!!! I just called her and we're going to meet at the barn this week to open all the presents!!! I just couldn't do it without her and Milo....though I'm sniffing, shaking and groping everything! :D I can hardly wait....feel like I'm 5 years old!!
I'll give you an update once we tear into everything!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! This is my first year doing this and it has been sooooo much fun!!! Oh, btw, all the cards you sent earlier containing hints are hanging on Milo's stall. Also, our barn is looking at putting in a cross country course in a couple of years!!! May ask for your input!!
Again.....THANK YOU!!!!

My SS, who seems to believe I have figured out who she is!, sent me a gift of a lifetime. In poetic PMs she quizzed me on whether I had any of my horse's tail hair to spare. I took a chance and sent her Gunnar's tail hair braid! Expecting a piece of jewlery I was so shocked to see a lovely piece of pottery. A cute little box, with a lid cut out of the top, you know with notches so you have to put it on just right. It is whitish with intricate black line and swirls. Lo and behold it is my Gunnar. The top has Gunnar's hair imbedded into it. Apparently the hair is randomly dropped while the pottery is hot, forming a permanent bond in a most unusual pattern! On the bottom is Gunnar, in black, to identify the owner of the original tail hair!
It is a gift I will treasure for the rest of my life. As I sat and starred at Gunnar's picture, kept by my bed of course, I rubbed the top of that little pot! It brought me great comfort, along with a few tears. To have a little piece of Gunnar, right there on the shelf, is too much to ask for!
To my SS thank you so much! I cannot believe how special this gift is and how much I love it! Now reveal yourself as I seem to be very dim and unable to determine exactly who you are.
Thanks again!

I have to say THANK YOU to my secret santa for the awesome box loaded with goodies. When it came, I was so confused. I was like “did I order something” but then I opened it and saw the “bill to address” and figured out that it had to be from my secret santa. She’s in the same state as me! What a surprise!!!
I got a whole box full of nifty stuff. I got Wahl pocketpro clippers. I have been thinking about buying those handheld clippers for myself for the longest time. I finally decided to go get them a few weeks ago, went to Stateline, and they were out of stock (they were also out of everything else I went for, grr).
I received Corona ointment, some fun sponges for cleaning tack, an emergency poncho for shows—all very useful and good to have on hand.
A green stallball for Shane. He’s going to love it because he’s mouthy and loves messing with stuff. I’ve never had one of these before. How do you inflate it?? LOL
And most fun of all, a sparkly baby blue crop with a star as the popper. It’s really fun and unique- I’ve never seen one like it before. Of course, baby blue is one of my favorite colors. My trainer is going to have a coronary. And that makes it absolutely best of all ;)
Thank you thank you to my awesome secret santa!

You are SO mean.
Sure, I got Ted a lovely hunter AP pad that is fleece so his back can be cushy cozy warm in winter. It is not embroidered. It wwas on clearance from DOver, after all. I mean, I guess I can manage to sew on a pink or white small circle and tell everyone it's a mint flavored necco, but that just doesn't have the...dare I say it? class! of a discreet but clearly recognizable marshmallow peep chick.
Although I did note on one of the other threads a Parelli devotee asked for a carrot stick embroidered on her horse's saddle pad - it would just be for show, of course, as they don't ride - and what she received was a kohlrabi stick embroidered on the pad. I know, because I saw it listed on e bay.
See? You make a mean post and I am so mean in return. It may not be Parelli motivational tapes for me. No, I now fear that my SS is Canadian and I am going to get the "All Alanis - All the Time" complete collection of Alanis Morissette CDs. Now that's punishment.

Oooohhhh, the UPS man just left :D
Just coming in from running all those exhausting seasonal errands I needed a pick-me-up. Having absolutely no self control, I tore into the box (with some help from kid #2).
For the next few minutes I am the proud owner of some delicious looking Dark Horse Chocolates. I think my blood sugar will be just fine in a little bit
Not to be forgotten, gourmet treats were included for the beasties. They'll be so spoiled!
The book of inspirational true horse stories will probably be a wonderful tear jerker
Most excellent plaid socks were in the box! HA! They're the exact ones my kids drooled over (for themselves) at the tack store last weekend. I guess the socks make me a pretty hip mom
The monogrammed saddle pad with coordinating ribbon trim will pretty much push me into the hippest mom category
Thanks again Wild Oaks Farm for a wonderful box full of loot

I have read ahead but not cut. One of my co-workers has one of these and it is a marvel to go into her office.

Moonriverfarm -
I just send off your final package. You're going to think I've gone nuts and wonder what price range I thought we were in. I went to the tack store to get that one last little thing and found another little thing that I had been thinking about getting but didn't want to order but there it was on the shelf at the tack store and I just had to get it! ::deep breath::
Anyway, the another little thing has some addition to show that you are indeed never too old to be so immature as to not be trusted with a box of vetwrap

Thank you SO very much!!
As you knew I wouldn't, I did not wait until Christmas...(no patience - not a bad doctor LOL) or much longer than negative-something-seconds to rip that package open!!!
I got a stocking FULL of treats and peppermints, some in adorable Christmas tins, a horsey mug and coaster set, a very lovely leather wallet purse with horses embroidered on the front, and A HAND SKETCHED PORTRAIT of my horse's face in profile, which was extraordinarily well done - just beautiful - that will get a frame. It was all accompanied by a sweet card that was signed by..."Elf"!!
Wow - I LOFF all of it!

No prizes needed, but it's me- I thought for sure the gift gave it away because I've talked about the pottery so much here. My mummy actually makes them :D and she has made a few already for COTHers. Maybe I wasn't quite as obvious as I thought... I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your memento of Gunnar. The clay is called micaceous clay, because of the sparkly bits of mica embedded in it.
For the folks who are wondering what I'm talking about, me mum has finally gotten some pictures up on her website:

Thank you, SS, for my wonderful box which arrived today!
Since I had no instructions on when to open, I went ahead and ripped into it . . . and found a halter and leadrope (navy blue:)), a stiff dandy brush (navy blue, and just what my grooming box was missing!), a grooma and a hoofpick (also blue, also great!), a fly bonnet (he needed one! They say buckskins are more attractive to insects and he's proof), some horsey socks (sage green, my "other color"!), a bumper sticker (Save Gas - Ride a Horse), a bucket (blue and wonderful - I used it to tote grooming tools out to the stalls this morning and later I'll use it to clean tack!), a bar of saddle soap and a wooden soap tray, along with two tack sponges (perfect for those moldy sidereins that I've been worrying about), and . . . this was the icing on the cake - Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits for my distinguishing paw beasts!
Well, my SS goes by "Just Delighted" but I couldn't find her in the members list. Any further hints? In the meantime, should I just continue to "Call you Cederic?"
Thanks a bunch!

Thank you to my wonderful Secret Santa Blueboo!!!! There was a card in the mailbox that there was a package for me and I realized I must have missed the mailman when I was in the shower. So I jumped in my car and raced down the street to catch up with him. He probably thinks I'm crazy but who cares!
I toyed with waiting to open the gifts but I have no willpower. Not to mention I've been really down about a knee injury I have so I really needed that boost.
I knew there was something in there for the dogs because Efan the Corgi was trying to dive into the box as soon as I got it open. Impatient little dog! ;) The cats were more then thrilled with all the ribbon to play with...doesn't take much to keep the cats happy!
Anyways, I got all sorts of goodies!!! First and forement I got a wonderful purple pommel bag for my saddle so I have a place for things when I trail ride and I got a matching clip on water bottle case with bottle...YES!!!!
Now to go in the pommel bag there was a folding hoof pick, pruners (for those overgrown trails..how did you know I needed one of those???!!), roll on fly spray (Miss Liz will love you for that!) There was also a roll of co-flex with "ouch" printed all over it (too funny). I also got a tube of paste electrolytes (always good to have!!!) a sweat scraper, gloves and a horse massager. For Miss Liz there was also a big bag of peppermint treats. As for me, I got a nice big bag of trail mix!
And yes, Efan was right, there was something for him and Harley in that big box...2 huge smoked bones. Man, they are going to have a blast with those!!!
Thank you for everything Blueboo, you really really made my day today!!!

Perhaps that's "Delighted"?
Heheh.. yep! That's me! My mom was in charge of mailing the package (since it's finals week here and I'm droooowning) and knows that JustDelighted is my screen name and the first part of my email address, so just stuck that on there. Everywhere else online I'm JustDelighted, but here, I'm, ah, just Delighted! :D
Glad that everything made it there safely and all! I had a really hard time shopping... more like, a really hard time putting some things back because I wanted to get everything I saw, really. I know you said you just moved Tanner home and that some of your tack was of the "vintage" variety - so I thought that some new grooming supplies and other little things like that would be something you might not get for yourself, but would be nice to have, anyway.
I hope everything fits Tanner! I had to keep reminding myself to "think BIG" since I own a fairly dainty TB and a downright tiny Appy.

I walked up to the front porch this evening after work, and what did I see tucked between the dead chrysanthmums and the deflated pumpkin? (Yes, we're slow!) It was a lovely big box!
Being of the "can't wait and can't keep a secret" persuasion, I had that box open before I even had my coat off. ;)
Thanks so so so much for exactly what I needed and coveted!
Here's the lowdown:
A lovely set of white polos (my first pair ever in 15+ years of riding and 4 years of horse ownership, how pathetic am I! :D), a really sweet pair of boot socks, the kind I've always coveted but never given in to, a really cute pad of paper (my husband always puts the pads "away" around here so I'm always writing shopping lists on the backs of used envelopes!), 2 different bags of horsie treats for Ute and Ally, and a bag of yummy (yes I've already opened them!) Lindt choccies!
Thanks so much, Mayaty02! I love everything, can't wait to slap those polos on the dark bay mare! (The retired gelding has 4 high white socks so polos wouldn't have fancied him up any, anyway!)
Merry Christmas! :D

:D You're welcome LoriO! I had soooo much fun picking out the things - I tried to pick stuff that I like to have on 'trail rides' - (without going tooo crazy;) ) Just be glad I've been so busy at work, or you'd have STILL been unwrapping stuff! ) I couldn't find anything in red, so I compromised on the lavender/bluish color - am glad you liked it!
And you never even hinted that you had kitty cats (don't you know that it's a baaaaaad thing to keep secrets from your elf?) or there would have been something special in the box for them too!

Sorry Geek!!!!!
Dressage Geek Ribbon Ho was my Elf. And, as founder of the annual "Most Awesomest Elf Ever Award" I would like this year to give it to DGRH and her ever so generous Ted (who shared Bran Mash and Neccos and Taffy and Studly Muffins with Rocks) Rocks, who is the most UN-vocal horse I've ever met, WOOKERED for his bran mash the second time he saw it coming. I honestly don't think I've ever gotten so many neat things!! I can't thank Geek enough. Especially since she a) made me think she was Canadian b) gave the impression that she was of a very young age, and c) hotwired a sleigh. Someday I shall ask her how that was done, because I'm not really proficient at the hotwiring thing...I've pop started cars, and boosted them with another car, but never hotwired...and a sleigh. Hmmmm...
I recieved a copy of the Chronicles of the $700 Pony, which I'm in the middle of and thoroughly enjoying (although I need to keep it on the down low at work...they don't like it when you're not working at work...and stifling giggles and laughter does not give the impression of a dedicated employee *shrug* Who knew????? They should have said that *before* ) So the $700 Pony has to stay home for now. :( And it's inscribed too!!! I also now have a much needed (purple) lunge line. It's loffly and I can't wait to use it on the fat beastie!!! And of course we had all that food mentioned above. Plus some fudge which I tried to hide but didn't do it so well...the brother liked it as much as I did!! I also got pretty soft purple socks and gloves, a snowman stocking, a dry erase board for the barn, a very cute little pony ornament, two purple bridle hangers that are AWESOME (they can hang on doors, no more bridles on doorknobs!!), a pretty horse frame, and a grooming kit that's all PURPLE!! Waayyy more stuff than I could have imagined. I kinda feel guilty, in a sheepish "kid who loves christmas and opening presents" kind of way! I haven't opened presents like that in YEARS!! And to top it off, I opened them in the drive thru at Dunkin Donuts (while the lady waiting patiently to hand me my coffee as I moved presents off the front seat!! Oops!!)
Sorry if I forgot anything, but honestly that was SOOOO much stuff!! You totally went waaayyy over and I really hope you don't get grinched, but then if you do, I'm totally signing up to degrinch!! Thank you Geek & Ted!!!!:) (Most Awesomest Elves Ever)

And you never even hinted that you had kitty cats (don't you know that it's a baaaaaad thing to keep secrets from your elf?) or there would have been something special in the box for them too!
Believe me, they were more then happy with the ribbons and the styrofoam peanuts in the box! That kept them quite amused for a while!

That was me :)
I'm glad you liked everything!!!! Really though, you should have seen my efforts to bake horse cookies. Grain with a little extra molasses, finely chopped apples and carrots, water with melted peppermints so it was all sticky and smelled good. And then....well, I'm not quite sure what happened but apparently the directions my friend gave me were not quite correct or else I just TOTALLY missed something. The squirrels cleaned it up in like, 4 hours though.

And I nominate you for best SS of 2006!!!!
For those who weren't at the barn today to see the unveiling of gifts for Milo......
First we received a beautiful navy blue (our color) Ariat grooming bag!!! Can you say "Wow"!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! The old faded plastic thing we were using is gone forever!!
Next we opened a beautiful new stall name plate (in our colors)!! Funny we had not gotten around to getting him one. Guess we were trying to decide if he was a "keeper"!!!
On to the awesome black picture frame complete with gold 1st place ribbon and engraved name plate "Milo and Andrea". My daughter already has a picture in it and it is sitting next to her bed!!
The next gift was a brow band and I'm not quite sure how to describe it other that it is breathtaking!!! Tarheelmd07 had braided it with navy and white ribbon with a hint of gold running through it!! She made/designed it!! Unbelievable! I'll have to get a picture and post it for all to see!!
But the note cards had everyone in the barn speechless!!! Not only is tarheelmd07 an almost doctor-eventer.....she's a fantastic equestrian photographer as well!!! On the front of each note card she had a real
photograph from her collection. There were color and black & white photos....each more aww inspiring than the next. Everyone had their favorite!! Needless to say, none of them will be used for thank you cards....they're going in frames and up on the wall.
So tarheelmd07....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! This was my first year participating and you made it sooooo much fun!! We had a wonderful time today and your generosity is greatly appreciated by Milo, Andi and yours truly!!!

I picked up my package at the PO today...driving down I was determined to wait until Christmas to open, but that lasted until about the minute I got home
(hey,I was strong,I didn't open it in the truck!)
Katie,you are awesome..and good research!
I got a deliciously cozy pair of lambswool socks PERFECT for Michigan winter trail rides
A lovely pair of fleece winter riding gloves in a gorgeous sage green colour that will contrast with my 2 favorite pairs of breeches.
A tube of wonderful smelling heavy duty hand cream for my poor ragged digits.
A bag of apple treats for Tiempo and Normie that they will LOVE.
An adorable snowman cookie that may or may not make it through the day (I would have devoured him already if he wasn't so cute...I'm having guilt pangs about biting his head off!)
A TOBLERONE!!! YUMMM!!! How did you know????
And some licorice toffee,I LOVE the stuff,my Gran used to make it all the time and I never got her recipe from her before she died...Katie you must have ESP!!!
I don't know your screen name though?? Who are you on COTH???
Thank you again,you're the BEST!!!!:D :D :D :D :D

It was I! :D
I had such fun shopping for you! I figured the gloves and socks were a given, since you like to trail ride (and maybe the socks will be good for working in too!). The hand cream was indeed for your poor abused farrier digits. The snowman was just the cutest thing ever, EVERYONE loves Toblerone (do they sell it in the States?) and I knew you were an Ex-Pat so I figured the toffee would be something you'd appreciate. The horse treats, I've never seen them be sniffed at by any equine I know!
I'm all goosebumpy that you finally got the package and it's all acceptable .
Merry Christmas! :D

My elf definitely deserves the COTH Best Elf Award!!! Relocated TXJumper outdid herself this year - and I soooo appreciate her efforts! Each of my equine friends (including the donkey!) receive its very own, personalized stall plate in my barn colors for my new barn! The plates have painted graphics (jumpers for the boys, a donkey for the a**) and are very, very cool. And as if that wasn't enough, she included a cool horsey pen, a hilarious Santa bird suction thingy that's sitting on top of my monitor as I type, AND a bag of Bert's Bees hand care products for my overworked hands!
Thank you, thank you!!!

SLH has a dilemma. What do you do about the giftee who has... PATIENCE!?!?! Yes, it seems my giftee has the patience of a saint and has informed me, her hard working anxious little elf, that she will not be opening her box until Christmas day. While I guess this elf is happy some folks can still wait, this elf is eagerly looking forward to the giftee (hopefully) singing SLH's praises in public. SLH also worries that the mark was totally missed though and so maybe waiting isn't all that bad. No, it's still bad. Who raised these people with restraint? Sheesh!

My SS was RN Horsemom...with help from an "elf" named Reynard Ridge!!
I went down to check the mail for lab. Saw a Priority Box...and thought - woo hoo!!! My SS box!! And before I left. And ...heavy!!!
Well, you know me. I have the attention span of a turnip. In the 5 minutes it took for me to find a razor blade (no! no! not that! but that's what we use to open boxes when we get shipments in lab!) I was jiggling the box.
Saw the card, and it said, "Open First." Hmmm....well, for once I followed directions.
And RN Horsemon had written that there were others in cahoots...hmmm...could it be a Hermes scarf from Aunt Esther? A purse?
Well, there was hunter green vet wrap...our barn color. :) Which we do have, and thankfully, I have ended up using on me more than on Ted. But not in our BARN COLOR. No, I bought the cheapo red on sale.
Then there was a squishy green grooming mitt, in hunter green :D, just the sort of texture Ted loves.
And a great big bag (free! 30% extra!!!) of GiddyYap Girls premium horse treats...those will be greatly appreciated by a 16.2 hand bay individual.
And...and...the Walter Zetl book, Dressage in Harmony, which nobody I know has!! I know what I'll be reading on the plane instead of the grant I'm supposed to review! :D
And...and...well, a picture is worth more than 1000 words: http://image60.webshots.com/160/4/29/64/2481429640055187328NtIKvo_ph.jpg?action=&track_pagetag=/page/photo/sports/tennis/&track_action=/Owner/Shortcuts/FullSize (http://sports.webshots.com/photo/2481429640055187328NtIKvo)
I am...overwhelmed. I never NEVER thought I would get my peep pad - which, like RR's will at first be draped in pride of place over the couch. For the picture, it was carefully draped over the chair next to the computer in my office (excuse the mess, please).
And because I was so overwhelmed...I lost my pic-taking-with-the-camera-sending-it-to-my-email-uploading-onto-webshots-and-posting-on-COTH-in-the-"Thank-Your-SS"-thread-virginity.
The pad will only be used for the most special occasions. In fact, now I have the impetus to qualify for regionals, since they are in St. Louis, and I hope next October, to proudly execute the test..Ted, coat gleaming, puffed up with pride, DGRH, resplendent in cheap State Line Tack dressage coat and Effingham boots off e bay...with all eyes focused not on the test, not on the thighs bulging out of the white breeches, but the lovely yellow chick moving with Ted as we ride.
I cannot say thank you enough. You guys are ...awesome.

My Secret Santa is still a secret!!! Reveal thyself!
I had 2 boxes of wrapped gifts sitting under my tree for about a week before I gave into temptation and opened all but one. There were treats for me, treats for the horses, and treats for my dog. Nobody was left out! I got the coolest hoof pick that is so heavy and strong it practically looks like a weapon  A calendar/address book combo, chocolates (from my favorite place in Steamboat - Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!), a yummy candle, some bath yummies, a massager (which has NOT been used at the barn, but instead on me!!). And most fun, a travel book! My SS was so thoughtful, she took the time to write little personal notes in the gifts. I spent my entire lunch hour that day going through the book - and my SO and I have been looking through it every night since I opened it. We are using it to plan our vacations for the next many, many years.
I did leave one big box to open on Christmas Eve.
Santa, whoever you are, you are AWESOME!! Everything was so personal and thoughtful. Thank you

(Pardon me if my typing is funny, I am devouring the chocolate as we speak-- it's been one of THOSE days so it came at a perfect time!! Besides-- CHOC O MEN?? Talk about YUMMY... who invented these??? :D )
I should have known there were doggy treats inside when the dogs followed me all over the house waiting for me to open the package, lol. They are really enjoying their bacon-cheese biscuits! And I know the horses will LOVE their "grain-ola" bar, and Sammy's new blue jelly scrubber will definately be useful! Also, I think these brown and pink horsey socks are going to have to be my new lucky show socks!!

Probably going to embarrass myself horribly here, but Ember is it you???? I got a second wonderful box, and opened it (still haven't opened anything that's wrapped though - I'm soooooooo proud of myself :D only 4 more days!) and found 3 little Chinese takeout type boxes that look from the labels like horse spoiler's extrordinaire and a beautiful rawhide? basket full of puppy treats (at sight of which all 4 of my 'kids' promptly did their best to turn themselves wrong side out!
I see you found the not so subtle clue. Yup, it's me. I am so glad I don't have to do the alter dance any more! Your patience is driving me crazy. Let me know how the ponies like the treats. They are new flavors.

I have no self restraint or will power! I opened it! I got the coolest watch I ever saw. ITs a horse jumping over 4 different cross country jumps as it goes around the dial. And I cant figure out how she knew I have a watch fetish! I cant remember telling her! And Truman got two bags of Meadow Mints! He will flip, I swear the only time he ever had them he went bonkers for them! I can never find them.. Thankyou so much! What a wonderful gift! :D

Well, THANK YOU ThreeHorseNight! It's been hard waiting for Christmas Eve to open that last gift. Until then, I have lots more to play with!
p.s. Hope you and the ponies are staying warm and dry in that blizzard!!
You are welcome. I hope you like the last present. To be honest, I wanted to get that last one monogrammed, but couldn't find anybody around here to do it. So there's a little hint about what it might be!
Merry Christmas!

She is the best Secret Santa. How did I get so lucky? I was seriously tearful as my son and I opened the presents. I also cracked up at the tag on the cylindrical present that said, "About that gift wrapping class I skipped."
You are a doll. She sent a bridle bag in my colors (woo hoo), an absolutely gorgeous baby pad in my colors monogrammed with my horse's name, an engraved frame with my name and my horse's and the year, a pair of SSG gloves, a spa manicure kit, a bunch of yummy candy and a "Cars" blanket for my 3-year old son. He is still running around holding it and will certainly sleep with it tonight. Wow. You are so amazing! Seriously...wow!
OK, I'm attaching a picture of the baby pad because I can't resist. It is loffly! (I don't know where that "loff" thing came from, but I'm using it now!)

Yay Lisa, you are so welcome!! I had so much fun shopping for you because I ride hunters too so I figured you'd like the same type of stuff I do. I'm thrilled with the way the pad came out (Kudos, SmartPak!) and I'm going to order myself one soon. The bridle bag was the last thing to come, but it was lovely, your colors are very nice!! I'm so glad your son liked the blanket! I absolutely love that movie, ha ha! Anyhow, so glad you like everything!!! :D

I was holding off on posting here because when I first read it I thought we supposed to stick to the original SS thread. But now this thread has GROWN! And it looks like the mods are going to let us keep it.
So thank you so much vxf111/ Veronica! I still think about your thoughtfulness and generosity when I see any of your gifts at home or at the barn.
And thank you Lamb (and are there 2 others?) for organizing this! It is a great way to build our COTH community.

Well my SS was the bestest elf, Canadian Bacon. She when over and above with the gift giving. I got so much stuff, starting with...
-Set of long lines (something I have been meaning to buy but just keep putting off, so now I don't have to use my lunge line any more)
-a Puzzle
-chocolates
-my name and farm name on ribbing that I can put on blankets and saddle pads. (great idea)
-book mark (can always use a book mark, as I read so much)
-cotton lead line (All was need these)
-dog treats (lucky dogs)
-cat treats (they don't need them because they are so fat already, but they will love them)
and something for the horses.
I hope I didn't forget and thing. Thank you so much Canadian Bacon. you are the greatest elf.

Cookiepony, I am SO glad you liked your gift. I wanted to get you the open fronts you asked for but I am a hunter and figuring out what style/size boggled my MIND. I've never even thought about buying boots, and in my world I only know eskadrons or the leather/sheepskin ones and I didn't know if that's what an eventer would use. And then what size... and it was just too risky for me to try to buy them...
So I went for the quarter sheet because I thought they might be a "splurge" you wouldn't immediately think of getting yourself. The embroidery came out nicer than I could have asked for...
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y192/vxf111/Embroidered%20saddle%20pads/quartersheet.jpg
It came out so nice that I took a picture, for future reference :)
I would also like to express my thanks to the organizers. This is no small undertaking and such a NICE tradition!

HAZLENUT my TEFTOE!!!
Much to my cats pleasure I worked my way through your box of goodies. Much to their displeasure I wrangled all the sparkly ribbons way from them.
But they loved sitting in the boxes and helping.
So many fun surprises including an Ariat tote bag that will be going on vacation with ME and not to the barn, at least not right away.
a Quarter sheet for Jaybird along with many treats, a bran mash kit, 2 boxes of Peeps a face grooma
A stocking filled with fun things like home made candy ( into the freezer it went for dolling out) flavored mustards and pretzles ( never heard of such a thing) and some spicy jelly which will find its way onto my weekly fish steaks. A beautiful zipper pull with a pretty glass bead and dragonfly some lip and cuticle balm from our good friend Bert. I LOVE STOCKINGS!!!!!
and best of all my big chance to schnub convention ( who me??? ) an orchid colored Romph ratcatcher. After being skunked at the VTO sale on rompf ratcatchers this one is a score.
Such a happy fun Kringling. Jay was totally spoiled by Hazelnut and Ori that I don't know what I am going to do with him. He is totally incorrigable and now, well he is going to be next to impossible.
Those peeps will have to last until easter.

Happy Vagrant you are the best! Thank you for the very cool basket of Alaskan delights... A way cool coffee mug complete with moose stenciling, a cute as can bee stuffed moose (that was quickly confiscated by my toddler), smoked Alaskan salmon, the mosquito trap was too finny (but unfortunately I don't think it is of adequate size to snare a well fed VA mosquito ), and the bear-o-meter . And I LOVE the quilted wall hanging and ornaments with my horse on them!!!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Dear Joyce,
Thank you very much for the fun box of goodies. I love the gloves (ovation thinsulate) and socks as warmth is up on my hierarchy of needs!
Ori got a big bag of meadow mints and a candy cane bran mash. He also got a very cool bling browband of gold, red and blue!!
I got a create a scrapbook calendar which I really appreciate since one of my friends is always asking me to scrapbook(and I want to but it seems so daunting to get started) and I will have a ready made project!
I plan to enjoy a spot of tea in the teapot and cup with a horse that looks just like Ori running across the plains (he's a cowpony at heart!).
But the absolute best are the engraved halter/blanket tags and ....drumroll! The plaque with Ori's name and a headshot of Ori. You tricky Secret Santa!!!! ;)
Joycesgrooming, many thanks for your thoughtfulness and the fun holiday...You are a star in the world of Secret Santa!!!

:D TikiGator, my most sincere gratitude!!! :D
Wow, what level did I sign up at? The box contains wonderous things for an animal lover like me!
The dogs, well the dogs are in heaven! Little Mr. Boo-Boo thinks that ALL that squeeks is for him.  We must share with the big dog. Share?  Let's see, there are big Milk Bone stuffed animals that squeek. An elephant & a tiger. (Did a conspiring Elf tell you anything about elephants? Hmmm?) Also two rope throwing disks with plush centers that also squeek. I thought for sure those would definetly be the big dogs. Nope, Mr. Boo-Boo had to throroughly squeek them both first! And only as another real animal lover would think of, TWO packages of Advantage for the dogs, one for each of them! OMG, we all know Advantage is not cheap. :D
The horses each received their own massager in different colours. Could not come in handier than today, as they are actually stalled for the first time since who knows when. It is pouring rain hideously, so I brought them in for a rare change. Now I can spend quality time massaging them today. What a nice fit to the hand they have too. A brand name we shall certainly have to share with other COTHers, as they are so ergonomically well designed.
For me, well moi received not one, not two, but THREE of those chocolate oranges! OMG, who told that I l-o-v-e those! I never buy them for myself, as it is just too splurging to do so. Hehehe, Santa really splurged on me!
Then for my own hooves, I have a pair of cute pink "Walkabout" socks with non-slip horse shoes all over the bottom. I am wearing them as I type on this very, very rainy day. They are nice & toasty.
And last but not least, in fact I saved it to tell about last for it is so neat. I FINALLY have one of those flowing water rock fountains for my home! I have always whistfully looked at them, but again, would just never splurge upon myself. This one is really neat, in that is like two glowing candles, one flowing water into the other & then down into the rocks. It makes a nice soft flickering glow, just like real candles. And it has a nice burbling water flow sound to it. Right now out is out here in the living room with me, but I think I shall keep it next to my bed, as I shall like falling alseep to the soft light & water sound. :)
TikiGator, my ChanterSanta2, again, thank you so very much! For someone single & alone like I am, it was so neat to have pressies under my tiny little Christmas tree!

Wow you wouldn't believe it if I told you....so I'll tell you anyway. Long story short, Duke is a mutt....a very very bad mutt....he is into EVERYTHING. He has eaten his share of expensive things in the home, thus for the passed year he has spent his days while I am at work in a large crate. I decided to give him "the test" and let him out while I went to work with his 3 other K9 siblings. Came home, all was well. Day 2....let him out again, came home....HE FAILED!! He went onto the coffee table where I had a box....he went INTO the box, got out a package of knit gloves I had ordered, OPENED the package, and ATE the gloves. I came home, and found 1/2 of one glove, and the packaged (package was virtually intouched, one tooth mark by the zipper).....he ate my brand new gloves!!!!!! That was the DAY before I received your SS gift box!!!!....I waited until today to open it....and I GOT A NEW PAIR OF GLOVES!!!!!!! HOW GREAT IS THAT?!?!?!
Don't worry, they are already out IN THE BARN...away from Duke's teeth  I am so happy! I also ate the chocolate horse pop right away....yummy!!! And the hosres were fighting over the Meadow Mints!!!! I also LOVED the photos you sent me, Chai is gorgeous!!!
THANK YOU SECRET SANTA SUE!!!!!!!!! and a MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!!!!

Tiempo,
Thank you so much for all of my great gifts. As I posted before, the box arrived during pretty bad month for us and seeing all the wonderful gifts wrapped so prettily made me tear up (and I'm not an overly emotional person usually.)
Anyway, today I opened them and I loved them all. Here's the list for everyone who's interested!:D
A vanilla candle (vanilla is my favorite scent, how did you know that?)
Festive colored pasta (red and green fettucini.)
A book all about drawing nature. I need to work on my art and this'll be the inspiration I need.
An advent calendar.
Soap with a horse stamped on it.
A travel mug which was curiously heavy, it turned out to be stuffed with M&M!!!
Some great knee high socks with a horse motif.
A chocolate square also with a horse motif.
And a box of Weetabix!!!:D  Now those posters from England will know what these are, my favorite cereal from the UK. How on Earth did you know I'm an ex-pat and miss some British food a lot?
I loved all my presents and the fact that someone who was a stranger to me took the time to choose them with love just moves me so much. This was my third CoTH SS and it just keeps getting better:) . Thank you to the mods who organised this and I'll definitely participate next year!!
Now I just need to hear from my santee  .

MsRobin, thank you, thank you, thank you for the long johns! Although... oh my gosh... these deserve their own special category of clothes! They're amazing! They fit perfectly and I love the color--and I wore them out to the barn to feed on Christmas Eve and I cannot believe how much warmer/more comfortable they are than the ones I've been using! Honestly, I couldn't have hoped for a better gift--temps are hitting zero again this week and we still have our big annual cold snap to look forward to, but this year... I'll be warm! :D
Sakura, I sent you the tourist version of the mosquito trap. We keep the big ones for our own critters ;) You're very welcome for everything--I had a lot of fun putting it together for you!

OMG Ember - I am humbled!
Folks you won't believe this (I'm not sure I do! :D ) I got from my WONDERFUL SS:
Butter soft leather riding/driving gloves (and they fit like - well - a glove too! ). Not one, but TWO books (perfect timing - I've just finished going through all my Dick Francis books again and was casting around for 'what's next".... : A battery operated engraving tool (Which is heading off to the barn with me this morning - I can see all my 'stuff' running before me in terror...). A really cool mesh laundry bag which is going straight into the trailer!; A Crocus pot - so I can have a bit of spring during the 'never ending' part of winter thats always seems to arrive about February, and a BEAUTEOUS leather halter! Which as soon as I get out to the barn either Blue or Princess Or maybe both of them - they're 'related' so they can share!;) ) is gonna model for y'all! Oh yes, and of course the rawhide treats for the puppies, the CUTEST little squeaky mini tennis balls (personally I think they're WAAAAY too cute to give to the dogs - they should be Tree ornaments instead, and of course the boxes of super fancy treats for the horses - I was reading the labels and they sounded like they ought to be something for ME to munch on - but I'll be good and give them to the kids - I promise!)
I just kept opening and opening and opening - and my jaw kept dropping and dropping.
Ember - I can truly say you are the bestest SS ever - and Thank you so very very much - you were a HUGE part of the bestest Christmas ever!

I got home from a family gathering today to find a box filled with LOVELY things!
My ipod looks just smashing in its fancy new skin - I love the feel of it too. Can't wait to try that soap, and I have the bubble bath sitting on my desk right now so I can keep smelling it. The YUMMY peppermint bark is also within easy reach. My new spurs are the perfect nubbiness. And the tea - wow - that's the ultimate convenience pack for a tea snob! It's so festive too...I just got in the door and will put the kettle on so I can drink some while I catch up on the COTH OT day.

A BIG thank you to our very own Eleanor!
I was the one who asked for the truck and trailer, and lo and behold I got my very own truck and trailer! Of course there are minis made for children, but my secret santa came through! I also go some great items with "Skorrybrook Farm" on them, and some candies, a horsie card game, a carry all for brushes, a hoof pick....I know there were other goodies but I can't think of them right now! I opened all the gifts in front of my family, and they were quite jealous of all the fun I had opening them.
Thanks again! What wonderful fun.

So glad you got it and so happy you enjoyed yourself.
I found a lovly one ton GMC with a 9 horse trailer in white, but I didn't think you would need that big of a trailer for one horse, just a little over kill.
So glad everything got to you finally. As the first time it was sent was on Nov 28. with DHL and the 2nd time on Dec 5th with DHL, the last time time was with Fedex and they made it in 2 days. I will never use DHL again to ship anything.

Thank you so very much for the amazing leather lead with Henry's show name inscribed on a brass nameplate. Lori, yeah, I guess it has been both ways. I was talking about the people that may have been grinched, but, there seems to be a lot of people who have not heard whether or not their giftee has received their gift as well.

So glad everything arrived! Sorry it was a little late. Slow elves. ;)
I'm always losing my gloves, so I find it's good to keep a spare pair around, and the socks were so soft I couldn't resist. Good luck with the foals in the spring!!
Merry Christmas,
Amanda

Ok, when do we decide to de-grinc? Seems like there are quite a few here who have not heard from the person who was supposed to be their SS, no contact, no gift... nothing.
This is why using just one thread is nice. See the first post of the other thread for updates.
Late gifts and postal snags happen. Gifts aren't even a week late yet...give it a bit more time.

I have been fortunate over the years to have great SS who always know what to send and without much help from me, I might add. I DO love a surprise.
And LoriO is right up there at the top. I got a GREAT box of goodies including coffee, cheese straws, chocolate (yummmm), treats for the horses, treats for the dog, 3 sets of leg straps (how did you know I was down to the last leg strap  ) horsey wine bottle stoppers (I didn't even know these existed), cook books and a needlepoint kit.
Thanks a bunch. The fur kids and I are enjoying eveything immensely.

Red,
Thank you so very much for the lovely Christmas present. I had to wait until I got back to work to post as I have been having a hard time posting from home. It is hit and miss as to if my posts will go through (keep getting error messages when I try to post).
Thank you for the lovely scarf (just my colour) as well as the bridle charms, chocolates and the candy canes for Freddy & Tigger too. (I hope I didn't miss anything), Santa was very generous to me this year and well, I am having a hard time keeping everything straight.
I hope you had a very Merry Christmas & all the best to you in the New Year.

Yeah, you did get your box!! I was really starting to get worried that something had happened to either you or your box.
Glad it did make it safely and that you liked everything. I hope those were the right type of cookbooks that you collect. The one from Hungerford's is about as local as you can get since Hungerford's nature center is about a mile from my house!
Enjoy everything!

No word or gifts from the person who had me. :( Oh well.Well, it won't be a secret since you know about it, but as soon as I get the other photos I will be sending you something!!!
And I do hope you saw my Thank You on the other SS thread. I didn't do one on here... So now I will!!!
THANK YOU!!!! to my super-super-super Santa, Kim! She got me the coolest stuff! I LOFF my t-shirt (got Kiprusoff? hehehe) and the script - autographed - from my favorite film ever! I have to say that I got the most well thought out gifts - things that no one had ever thought of (and it's not like my fav film is a secret to any of my friends!) and I SO appreciate it! To cap off my perfect present, Kim sent me a copy of her book, which I loved! So, THANK YOU to the bestest Secret Santa! (who will NOT be grinched!)

Well, this is from equusrocks' Secret Santa, back at her. In the auction for Max, I bid on and won one of her painted Breyers. Not only did I receive a beautious mini Ted, with a mini purple cascade of flowers to wear, as befits a ribbon ho, but Ted got some peeps and I got a saddle pad with some teeny yellow chix sewn on and the words, "Ted the Peep Ho" printed above & below.
So THANK YOU!

I already PMed my superexcellentsecretsanta Eventable, but I wanted to publicly thank her as well. It was a rough Christmas here (family stuff, car issues), and getting her package was truly the most fun I had this holiday (I felt like such a little kid!).
And I got chocolate, earrings, a NZ horse mag (I am such a foreign magazine junkie), and a gorgeous, loffly, cosy, soft-as-can-be pair of wool and *possum fiber* socks. Possum fiber! Who knew? It's a New Zealand thing. They're like cashmere, but tough.
It was excellent! Thank you, Eventable!

A big thank you to MHJLittlefield, who is an AWESOME secret santa and got me a whole bunch of cool stuff - chocolates, scrubby bath thingies, a picture frame with a ribbon on it, an eventing T-shirt, boot socks, AND snacks for my baby (a kind he happens to absolutely love, BTW).
I've been out of town, so I didn't get my gift until today (though it arrived last week).
Thank you so much!!! :D

but she did play me on the boards!!
Hi, WingedPanda... HiJumpin' (a friend of mine) forwarded my "sorry I'm late" poem to you because I never have learned how to do the alter thing.
I'm really glad you like your gifts - you didn't give too many hints in your sign-up request, so I had to Wing it, if you'll forgive the pun.
:D
Happy New Year!!

I realized I never thanked my SS on the open board. There were many enthusiastic thanks in PM, but she was a great santa, so...
Thanks, didgery! You rock. I'm still loving my two embroidered pads. I feel so special riding around with them on and they look smashing on Show.
The chocolate is almost gone. The horse treats are definitely gone even though horsey hasn't been on his best behaviour and the book, while not cracked yet, is next on the reading list.
So a big huge thanks. You were an awesome santa!

Because I for one am celebrating - yet again - in January.
My most faaabulooous Santa, Shmon, had told me earlier that she was sending yet another gift to me and today it arrived. (As if she had not already showered me with presents!) Spenser & I will be decked out in style for our next dressage show (coming up next month) in our beautiful monogrammed saddle pad!!
Shmon, again, thank you for your thoughtfulness & generosity. You ARE the 2006 Superest Secret Santa of them all!!!!!!
