We're in the middle of a drought up here...my lawn and pasture are brown and crispy. The weeds, however, seem to be thriving.

So...my question is, will spraying for weeds now (2,4D) have any negative affect on the grasses because of the drought conditions?

I'm not an expert, but in my experience your grass should be fine with the 2,4D. I sprayed some weeds earlier this summer and since it was so dry, the weeds did not take any down to the roots and did not die until a couple of weeks later when it rained. Then they died.

advice from a crop consultant: You cannot kill a dry weed. The 24D won't hurt the grass, but it will only make the weeds temporarily twisted up. You are better off mowing now, and applying herbicide after rain.
