Saw this one (http://lexington.craigslist.org/grd/3089319098.html) on Craigslist. It seems to me like a good price for a 2003 diesel, even if it is the 6.0 diesel, with only 31,000 miles. It's not even broke in yet!

I'd love a van, but I will always pass on a 6.0.

I work for a private ambulance service in the metro Atlanta area, running 56 units, and that's all we've had up till now. My fleet manager, if left to his own evil desires, would have shot every single one of the 6.0's right through the block, laughing all the way.

So far we've replaced 20 units with the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters and we are on track to keep up the replacements until all those 6.0's are headed down the road under someone else's name.

BUT for the casual hauler who has a good diesel mechanic that knows 6.0's, it might be worth it.

There are no "good" prices on the 6.0 (including "zero" prices). :)

And it's unlikely that it will ever be broken in. ;)

Y'all are just mean. Some people like their 6L engines (says she that has two 7.3's)!

And here I was thinking it sounded awesome....

Are the trucks just super unreliable? Loud? Too wimpy?

Did I miss where they said how many horses this van holds?

Amoung others on the board. From my reading the 6.0 Fords are repair nightmares and unreliable.

Who inherited a 7.3 with only 115K miles - it isn't going anywhere.

Ick.

That would explain the price on this van, which is about where lots of much older and higher mileage ones are.... When they are.

If the price is REALLY good, you could buy it and replace the 6.0 with a 7.3. There is a local mechanic around here who has done quite a few.

I just had a long email conversation with this guy. It sounds like a scam to me. He wouldn't send me pictures of the inside, said the van was already at the shipper. He wants to sell it through ebay, won't let anyone come and see it, wants the money up front and then ship it, etc. The whole conversation just came off as fishy to me. And he's in Minnesota, according to his email. I do see there are some interior shots in the craigslist ad. But I just got a really bad feeling "talking" to this guy. The price is really low. Edited to add - the price I saw was $5,600.
