Wow! Today that's a 14 hour drive. I wonder if those horses wore their saddles for the whole trip.

Some of the earlier race horses in the West were hauled around in wagons ... pulled by other horses.:cool:

I think 14 hours was a terrific time for those days, many of those roads still dirt ruts, not paved.

Its a 14 hour drive TODAY! It took over a week to get there in 1926!

Go too fast on unpaved roads and I'd imagine stuff would rattle off. You'd have to spend your morning or evening tightening bolts and clearing 20MPH would be rough. I'd also imagine you might do a bit of walking for gas at one point or another... there just wasn't today's <100 mile infrastructure in place.

3-4 days if they rode the horses... :lol:
