I know there is a form to be downloaded so I can print a temporary tag, does anyone know where? Or what I'm talking about? I have the title transfered to my name but I'm picking it up from (private party) and the guy isn't sure how the temporary tags work...
Thanks for any advice.

I think what you are looking for is there.

As far as I know you have to go to the MVA in person and you can get the temporary registration when you do your title work.

call MVA--they had to set up a temp for me online when my stickers never came that i was able to bring up and print off. but i had to call and ask for it. and the vehicle was already registered.

Yes, that you can do online, but MD requires you to do your title work to process temp tags for a vehicle/ trailer you've just purchased including taxes, etc which is why you have to go to the mva to do it

Or if you, like me, want to avoid the MVA scene, you can get tags at Terry's Tags and Title. I've used them before myself. You do go there in person, but it's way nicer than the MVA.

Or title it in Maine. Much, much cheaper than MD and, no, you don't have to take the trailer there.

^I agree! Much cheaper, and when you call, an actual human being answers the phone!!! They will mail you all the paperwork needed!

I suspect Maryland may just frown on this. Did you pay your sales tax?

I also suggest Maine...but only for tags. You'll still have to pay sales tax in Maine if you don't have your trailer registered in MD. Of course, MD doesn't require yearly inspections on trailers the way VA does (which really sucks and is just a payoff to the garage lobby).

Paid sales tax in MD to get it MD titled, but tagged in Maine (tags are in the mail now). All good, thanks for input.
