Just to clarify Colin - are you talking about highest score on their hunter trip, or highest score for their swan dive? If the latter, then Colin will win, hands down, or nose down, as it were!

It's not that we are slighting all the other A/A riders out there, it's just that we must honor what has truly become a monument to BB culture... The Great Colin-Sea Urchin Rivalry...
Not unlike the Florida-Georgia, Oklahoma-Texas, Auburn-Alabama, UNC-Duke rivalries, this one must be treated as something special (albeit its a rivalry with higher literacy), and cannot be bothered with those trifling other riders... /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
But as to your point, Hattie... why yes... you MUST be correct... /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

that in the polls...Sea Urchin on a cow is beating Colin on my good horse /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Not one to brag /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif but he did get 2 4ths, a 3rd and 2 2nds 2 weeks ago when he carried me into the A/O's for the first time. :sniff: :sniff:
Y'all will see - Colin and PK will have their name in lights...their classic scores will be so high, that show man't will invite them to compete in the Saturday Night Classic as the lone A/A entry...maybe Sea Urchin can catch a glimpse of that course as he is taking coats and handing out shrimp at the big dinner that night.

Aug. 2, 2001, 06:30 AM
Thanks SoEasy, I think she's pretty special myself. Actually it was MAZ who convinced Heidi and Hans to part with Archie, a young jumper with loads of talent and personality. I had a chance to ride him recently -- he's a very cool horse.
(I bought Mackie from a friend who got her when she was 3 1/2. My trainer and his wife have known her since the day she was born, and I was there the first day she jumped a crossrail. Unfortunately for my friend, he and Mackie did not get along very well. His loss has definitely been my gain!)
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.... I am afraid that SU will not be riding Mackie at Middleburg. This year all of her jumps are reserved for me. And, as Colin and I are the co-founders (along with SandyM) of the Native American Warmblood Registry, I couldn't rightly loan Mackie to SU and put Colin at such a big disadvantage. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

What about if they did the Ariat as well - then we would have another element.
So who would be the "combined" winner if they did the Ariat and the Classic and we combined scores?
Actually since DMK's gucci horse sometimes has issues with "jumps of color" SU might need my mare for the Ariat - she could care less about colored rails. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You are right about that 'klu! Silly boy, on week TWO at Biltmore, we came around the corner to the thrid line and it was the Dreaded Red Flowers (I have a red flowerbox in my ring at home /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif ), and he started to peek like crazy at it! the emotional trauma you are inflicting upon me by only giving my horse 9-freaking votes.
I am telling you people - he reads the course diagrams for me!! He's a star! Would jump over a burning car if you asked him to!
That nag of DMK's...jumps like a three-legged nanny goat in heat with mastitis! Slap a set of horns on his head and the package is complete!
DMK's nag may have natural rhythm, but my horse can buck one stride out from a huge oxer and still jump it like Rox Dene...
Gee Colin - Maybe you should do the 4' workings on PK as a school for the AA's?

I do have to agree with one of the many trainers that both Colin and SU have had. Her (said trainer)insight was remarkable, it's amazing the things that become clear when you have a vision!! Her thoughts were that there was no contest and SU will clearly emerge victorious. Colin, while attired in brown to keep the mud from showing from all the falls, was at one time a somewhat talented and promising rider. But after seeing her last year, and all the havoc wreaked on her riding talents from living in the great Morman state of Utah, well the word rusty could be the kindest moniker to be given.
On the otherhand SU is living in the lap of horse heaven and has many opportunities to polish his already supberb and superior A/A talents. It was heard said down Suffolk way "Wow can that boy ride a spotted pony!" How can you not stand up and notice talent like that?? I ask you??? We in the great Old Dominion are so honored to have him represent us in the great Celebrity Death Match at the Middleburg Classic.
These are just the things we local VA Aasociate Full Fledged Point Chasers hear at the shows. But don't Colin out.... She's a tough one!!

Colin,
Darling don't cry!! I love you best!! These are just some of the mean things people are saying at the Associate level. No one on the circut thinks that, not even the confused old trainer you used to have. I know that you are a true competitor and contender. I say let the most inebriated win!!! Plus I haven't even voted yet. I want to have the deciding vote..... I promise this year I will take off work to watch this phenomenal showdown. It's right up there with the Kong Wall jump off!!! After days of reflection, and reading through this thread, I have to gracefully admit defeat so as not to humiliate myself further at M'burg

1) Sea Urchin has taken over Colin's screen name, and, just to be safe has had someone abduct her.

Miss Xani,
I wish I could tell you the truth about SU. Yes he is single and available but his heart is with another. Yes he flirts, laughs and is extremely gallant but it is only a facade. Women have lined up in droves, and while the true Southern Gentleman he is continues to be most gracious and kind, we don't stand a chance. But feel free to take a number, maybe our luck will change. I'm #1 in line and I can get you bumped up to #949876911. Please let me know as soon as possible. I have others, who I am not as found of as you, wishing to move up.....Big Sigh....
In this day and age, how could such a phemomenal man be single? He rides, cooks, cleans and loves his family.....not to mention the good looks and old wealth. Aye yai yai (was that PI?)

VTRider, you really need to get over this bitterness and realize, as I have, that having .U. show P.K. really is the best idea; that horse will be jumping like Rox Dene w/him. Because you went to a cow school is no reason for you not to publicly acknowledge S.U.'s talent and his generosity in trying to improve your horse for him. Think how much we can both learn"!

I bet SU was evil enough to email that to you and threaten you if you didn't post it.
What a loser.

Oh VTRider, of course no one's threatening me. I haven't talked to SU in months. After weeks of quiet reflection here in Utah, I have realized my limitations as a rider, as you should, and come to fully appreciate SU's innate talent. I will pray for you...
In fact, I'm going to ask everyone on the BB to join in group prayer for you - that you might find the spiritual peace that I have. Perhaps we can go to church together in Middleburg when I visit?

This is going to be one enjoyable horse show viewing experience. Get your libation orders in early, I have a limited capacity in my portable bar. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Kind of like the Cowboy Church that they have at QH shows and cattle shows?

Hahaha I love that, my friend always says, "Wow, he's acting deep. Pass me a shovel." And the first time she said that I started laughing out loud in the middle of English class.

The "bipolar" thread???
Quick break out the meds. Something is VERY WRONG here...
I am suspicious of possible "identity stealing" perhaps Erin will stop by and put everything right.

Fear not, precious VTRider....PK IS MINE for the Classic and we will triumph!
No church! No Sea Urchin worshiping! It's bud light, marlboros, and Sea Urchin bashing all the way! LOL!
