JumptheMoon, just look for the best preserved 61 year old at Collingwood, venture up, look down (she's short) and you'll have found our beloved team mascot. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
For our amusement and a collective nod of the head:

I've been gone for a long time, and though I'd add my 2 cents worth on the what? 25th page?
Weather is great here, i was just visiting some friends in the town I grew up in (in the Rockies) and they still have a good foot and a half of snow. It's great as long as you're not living there(: I had a fabulous time snowboarding, there was 20 cm of fresh powder on the hill! It was heaven. And I got to watch the good old kid and mutt race-an improptu dog sledding race (seriously) My Golden Retriever was 3rd two years running, and won me $80.00. It was his finest hour.

I definitely agree with you about the Emma movie..but if you think that was not true to the book, rent a copy of Mansfield Park after reading the book....they totally changed the character of Fanny and turned her into Elizabeth from Pride and Prej - of course, i can see why they did it, because Fanny in the book is a bit of a limp rag, but still...! I agree though, Emma is an awfully good read, but since i'm middle-aged I've come to appreciate Persuasion - it's a terrific book too and BTW the movie adaptation of that was awesome...On to another century - I noticed a lot of people like Fall on Your Knees - I found that book so depressing....not a good cottage book IMHO.

No, no dear heidikinns, I was asking about Canter, not you. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

JumpTheMoon - never fear. I will say hello to YOU at Collingwood. If for some reason I can't find you, just look for a sumo toddler carting an Asian, a short blonde and a woman waving cat-sick yellow shag carpet and you'll have found the 3 musketeers. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Heidi dear, Canter is gaining on you in # of posts. My advice: blab like you've never blabbed before! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
So do you guys venture down to my neck of the woods for the Capital Classic? If so, let me know. I'll be the one hiding behind the stalls throwing water ballons at people as they pass by, so if you get hit and hear a high pitch laugh-that's me /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No problem , Heidi, I can take her! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
On the book subject; my favourites are The Hobbit, Into Thin Air (amazing!!!), and Tuesdays with Maury... that last one was a very interesting read.
On the Collingwood subject, you will be able to find Jump the Moon and I fairly easily. Look for a pair of crazed teenagers camping in front of the Yogun Fruz stand at 4 in the morning. Or check me out as I make my jumper debut... I will be the one quaking with fear as my horse stands in the middle of the ring going "these jumps don't even come up to my knees. Pull yourself together, woman!" /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Heidi...dear sweet heidi...Palisades could never ever ever beat me up /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Looks like you picked the wrong adoptive daughter! Although she does do better than me in school, and her horse is bigger(but mine has a white nose so /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif) and she gave up chocolate even thought I need to and she doesn't hehe. Even with you on my one side (perhaps only attached to my leg? could you reach any higher? hehe joking) and her on the other, i could still get off within 15 seconds max!! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

BTW I don't post on the weekend. She has the unfair advantage (as well as an absent Hans)

Canter, don't you have a date with a lumberjack this weekend? Are you city-bound this weekend? Paying two mortgages does put a crimp on one's weekend plans, doesn't it?
JumpTheMoon, I may be small, you may be tall
but I have a 60 pound sumo toddler who would readily defend his mommy's honour. /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Bertins is up for sale. It's going to be wall to wall townhouses from Hamilton to Toronto. I've never ridden there <G>, but I know some people who have. It's too bad though, it was nice to drive by and see green space & horses, instead of houses.

Would anyone like to here my blooper of the night? I triped while loading dishes into my dishwasher and fell onto the open washer door. Ahhh! This is just another accident to add to my long list! Now the door is bent and won't close... guess who will be doing dishes tonight guys? Oh, what a bill that will be! /infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif
Fred
Mar. 2, 2001, 05:01 PM
falling headlong into the dishwasher! that made me laugh out loud - but I hope you didn't hurt yourself - and what are you going to tell the repair man? Just to show how cabin feverish I am, I went for a manicure this afternoon - and got gel nails! eeeuuu. My hands, not surprisingly, don't look good. ie I don't bother with gloves for sheath cleaning (actually that excalibur stuff makes your hands baby soft)..
I keep saying "after foaling season" "after breeding season" "after the Royal" and then it starts all over again. But I had a good look at myself the other day and realized I was starting to look like those "horsey" English ladies who used to be at Pony Club when I was a girl..kind of wrinkly, windblown and definitely casual about my dress .and since it's only 18 days till my 50th birthday (God, I've said it), I've decided to start to stem the tide of advancing age. A French Manicure. where will it end? Maybe I'll take a calcium tablet tonight. It doesn't get much wilder than that. What's next, plastic surgery?

Mar. 2, 2001, 08:58 PM
Fred, there's not a better pick-me-up than an hour long pedicure and OPI's "We're not in Kansas Fiery Red" on one's toes. Though given the season, your sexy toes will have to remain a secret to be shared with Mr. Fred.
I have concluded, BTW, that age is a mood, not a self-definition. One of our closest friends just turned 49 and she is among the most youthful people I know - a list which includes myself, at 35 - and has just received her pilot's licence. I, however, have yet to get my driver's licence. It's about spirit and the ability to continuously be excited by new challenges - whatever they may be.

Sorry I haven't been around to help with the posts.
Ever had, " One of those days?" Talk about blooper night! I made so many bad moves in front of jumps, that my ever-willing horse, finally packed it in. I fell off and then things went really poorly! My friends take me to the lounge for a cigarette and I drop the live ash on my jacket and burn a hole in it. I limp up to the barn to put my tack away and catch my bridle on something and break it. I must have been a horrible person in a former life!! /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have some lovely bound olde horse books from 1945 - 1949, that are pages and pages of advertisements and flowery articles of how horses did at shows, mostly on the West Coast but there is one "Gentleman" Hunter who put in pages of ads of his horses and their accomplishments.
I think because one of his horses, "Gold Lode" was from California, a CA bred TB, and won at Madison Square Garden in the 40's.
Gold Lode was Conformation Champion at Pennsylvannia, Harrisburg, and Madison Square Garden in 1948, he also won Amateur, Green, Pairs and Teams.
His owner's name was Vernon G. Cardy. Edith & Helen Ferguson rode for him, he married Edith.
Goldlode also won the Aimilius Jarvis Challenge Trophy at the Royal Winter Fair.
The Cardy Stables hailed from Val David, P.Q. Canada and Southern Pines, NC
They rode with the Eglinton Hunt, MFH Vernon Cardy rode Times Square and his imported from Ireland hunter Viceroy of Cork.
What was interesting to me, was in the late 60's we had a wonderful older lady at our stable who had a Christmas party at her lovely house, just down the street from where Bill Gates now resides, to show her photos from a trip to Africa.
Mrs G- brought out some old photos of her showing in Canada when she was younger, and I immediately started naming off the names of some the horses! They were Mr Cardy's!! haha
/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
She was good friends with the Ferguson sisters!
So there is some very ancient Eastern Canadian History /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Bumpkin. I'm guessing the origins of The Cardy stables would be the gold mines in northern Quebec and Ontario.I thought there was a Cardy on the board of Canadian Pacific or one of the big banks. There is a reference to a Gordon A. Cardy in the hotel business in The Canadian Establishment Vol. 2.
There is a lot more ancient eastern Canadian History out there. The 50's and 60's version of conspicuous consumption is a pale cousin to the last decade.
Around Toronto there were a lot of private stables that looked like mansions.

One of my dearest friends is Toronto bred and lived there for most of her life.
I went back there a few years ago for a week and saw one of those, mansion stables.
Pretty impressive. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Sumo toddler weighs 60lbs??????? ALREADY?????? OK, Jaime is strong and agile, but I fear for her...
Incidently, her father is (really) a black-belt (2nd degree) in Tai Kwon Do--don't know if I spelled it correctly, but he has been "working out" with her... Bring it on!!!!!

She's seems to be doing fine and we have to laugh at her because she resembles a big fat cow on drugs /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif She no long has a discharge (hasn't for 2 days now *yay*) and it doesn't look like she'll pop tonight like our barn manager predicts. It's seems that by the way she's going the baby is going to be a fine and strong yearling before we get to meet /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, seeing as I'm at the library I felt motivated to help our thread along a bit /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
But really, I think our MUCH BETTER Canadian thread ( /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ) should be allowed to rest in peace quietly when the time comes. In the truest of all Canadian customs, upon its demise we should celebrate its former existence with a good ol' kitchen party!!
Seeing as I live only a few blocks away from the Molsen Brewery, I volunteer to bring the beer!! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
But, our thread is still a spring chicken, so we don't have to worry yet! Heck, its still got a ways to grow doesn't it? /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There are two less poo-eating dogs on the planet today. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Thursday night, both my Keeshond, Kasey, and my Great Dane, Tango, were hit by a car and killed on the highway in front of my house. The driver who hit them didn't stop to see what they had hit, or what condition the animals were in. My next door neighbours heard the impact from their house, and ran out to see what had happened. Their house is about half a kilometer from where the accident happened. The neighbours found Kasey already dead, and Tango standing beside her, keeping guard. By the time the neighbours got the dogs back to their house, Tango was dead too. This is one of the saddest things that has happened to our family. Tango was only 16 months old, and we'd only had him for 7 months. My dad doesn't work outside the home due to a construction accident, and Tango was his best friend, his true soulmate. Kasey was my little friend, and I planned to take her with me when I moved out of the house. Everyday when I came home from school, the first thing I encountered at the front door was two dogs wagging their tails and licking my hands and face. Those dogs were my life, and a huge chunk of my heart is buried with them in the cold ground. I went to see their graves today, and it was so hard to say the final goodbye. I miss my dogs so much, they were the light in my world, and now they're gone. If the driver of that car knew how much Tango and Kasey were loved, they would have done everything they could to make them live. But they kept driving. And now my life is half empty. I miss you and I love Kasey and Tango, and I'll see you again some day.

Oh my gosh, MissD! I am so sorry for your losses. Being a dog owner and a very big animal lover, I can't believe that the driver didn't stop. MissD, you made be cry! I am so sorry and don't worry, you'll see them again someday. My thoughts go out to you and your family and your beloved dogs. *sending virtual hugs to you*

Oh MissD, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved dogs. How tragic and sad for you and your family. The pain and loss are so recent, it's probably difficult to believe that though the pain may dull over time, your, and your family's, love for your dogs is eternal.
And how unbelievably cowardly and cruel for that damned driver to leave the scene without checking on the dogs. /infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
My condolences. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

JumpDaMoon - I hover between 5'2 and 5'5 - dependent on the heels. In my favourite Manolos, I would tower over you darling. /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
And for the record, sometimes it is about the bark and not the bite -- in which case, my money's on Palisades. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif She's like the pit bull of the Canadian clique - and I mean this in a good way.
Yes, Jaime Lynn, Sumo's 60 pounds, whence we checked last in December. He's not fat, though, just big all around - huge feet, takes a 7 1/8 approved helmet, tall, broad shoulders. A bit of a belly but, hey, he's only a baby. Think we'll be skipping the short stirrup classes - he'd crush a small pony. Think it'd be okay for him to show short stirrup on a 17hh WB? It's really funny when people ask whether we're related - given all 95 pounds of me and my fluctuating height. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I shall get my act together this week and finally post pictures of my darling, adorable and brilliant boy. Stay tuned. And be afraid Jaime Lynn, be very afraid.
I think we need to elect Bumpkin the clique historian. And ClipClop, our resident alien. Just don't let her near any of your major appliances. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Congrats on nearing the big three-o in page length. May I venture to guess that neither the Canadian or Calif. cliques would've had the time/interest/motivation to post such long threads if the freakin' weather had been nice enough to ride and compete? So, we can blame all this mundacity on the winter weather, right? /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Come on, Canadians, let's keep the thread alive! The weather must be getting a lot better, therefore resulting in a decline of posts. I know that it's really sunny and not very cold out here. But that doesn't mean I'm not dedicated to ensuring the success of my fellow Canadians!
P.S. Is Canter really 61?!?
I think that (ohhhhhh flame me!!!) most people in this illustrious industry are crooks. It's really hard for people to differentiate between "nice" and "so why are you being nice to me today--what do you want?"
I could go on forever, but trustworthy people in this business are hard to find...
PS--I'm one of them(not a crook)...
B.G.M. heidi
Mar. 4, 2001, 08:47 AM
Yes, have met some crooks and, as mostly neophyte adults in the sport, honesty and integrity are really important virtues.
Perhaps our allegiance to our trainers is the recognition that there aren't too many like them out there -- but at the same time, we have benefitted from surprising acts of kindness. Jay, for example, has invited us to school our horse on his Spruce-ish course at his barn, so that the horse could get some mileage over natural jumps, grobs, banks and ditches. And my daughter has toured show grounds on Eric's golf cart - just because she'd happened to park her butt in it.
I'd also assert that in Canada, trainers are very cautious about appearing to poach other's clients - i.e. they won't speak to you unless you approach them first.
Fred
Mar. 4, 2001, 10:51 AM
refuse to even acknowledge your presence? and here I thought they (actually I am thinking of one in particular) was just RUDE!
does anyone remember a horse named VICEROY, I think was on Cdn Eventing team many years ago? I have an old mare who is a sister and would love some details.
Tin who is your mare in foal to?
and Heidi - thanks, I know you're right -and red toenails give me a lift too!! even if they are buried in thermal socks and poopy Sorels!
B.G.M. heidi
Mar. 4, 2001, 10:58 AM
I've had the same thought Fred - especially when you've dropped a bundle buying a horse from them. Later found out that the other trainer was making queries through our trainer and getting the 'okay' before approaching us. Very odd. But there is an unwritten code of ethics and behaviour between trainers, it seems. At this point, I start getting suspicious if another trainer is too effusive with us.
It's a small world--check your mail...

Maddie was FURIOUS that we had the absolute nerve to go to a paddock she couldn't access (even though she could SEE us the entire time!)
New pics - daylight this time! are up on her site at http://www.clutter.com/maddie just click on photos to see how very Maddie she was! So he's your group's idea of a California icon? He embodies California?
Well, let's see: he has cosmetically altered teeth, hair a bit too coiffed (IMHO) for any self-respecting man, he is bloated with illusions about his singing talent, and oh, what he "really wants to do is direct."
Sorry, my apologies. He is indeed a Calif. representative.

You know what I think would be very funny... if we all talked about the smashing evil things we have done in the past. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'll start...
Me and my sisters use to terrorize the neighborhood. I wonder if any of the poor kids we tortured turned out normal?! The one thing I can remember most vividly, is stuffing hay down the neighbor boys pants, and them tying him to a tree... and leaving him there! My sister set the field across the street on fire, and my brother shot out the street light with his bebe gun...
Okay guys, spill, what awful things have you guys done? /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

HaHa ClipClop...I used to bite until i was like 12. If i didn't get what i wanted--*CHOMP* Once when i was in grade 5, my teacher was reading a story and the whole class was sitting on the carpet. Another hairdressing encounter of the too close kind - Vidal Sasson sponsored tonight's broadcast of the Junos, the commercial featured a guy I knew named Felix...Felix is looking very Halston in the new millenium. Well I've studied for about 2 hours now, including the hours I talked to my friend on the phone and drew many tattoos on my body using washable markers at the same time. Oh and also in that 2 hours I e-mail 5 friends and took over some of mare cam duties. So I guess I've studied for...oh about....20 mins, 30 mins tops.

I was sugar and spice and everything nice /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif oh except when I would gnaw on small children who pissed me off when I was young. Or when our whole baseball team beat up another baseball team (they started it). Oh and there was a decade there where I would constantly throw things (remotes being my weapon of choice) at me sister. And can't forget when I threw the football at out gym teacher and pegged him off in the head, or the time I organized the class to stand on our desks and sing "we will rock you" to a very scared and intimidated supply teacher (who we sent crying and never saw again, I might add). And then there are a whole mess of things I'd rather the kind people on this board not know. But other than that, I'm an angel /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

MissD - I'm so sorry about your poor dogs ... I know exacly what your going through, our youngest (of 5 dogs) was a 1 1/2 year old boxer, 2 weeks ago for some reason, he ran down to the road and was hit, thank god someone (we think it was the person who hit him) scooped him up and took him straight to the closest vet clinic. Although he was dead on arrival we found it easier to deal with knowing that he wasn't left on the side of the road suffering and to die a slow death ... he was only missing a short time when the vet clinic called, through tracing his micro chip.
Tin - hang in there with your mare, we have one that is due any day now, and she looks like she's inhaled a round bale .... but we think she is enjoying the constant attention and pampering and is going to hold on to this one for a while yet.

Somebody was wondering why the "Home Board" aka EMG isn't as lively as it used to be, well I think I have the answer (or at least an opinion). Casual chats, off topic discusions are a no-no over there. I was one of the first people to start using the BB over there and I tried hard to create topics and encourage input. I told many people about it and most joined, but how many times can you talk about beet pulp and helmets!!!!!?????
I like this BB here, even though the only (most) topics that go anywhere have nothing to do with horses or have been taken off topic and become a chat. It doesnt bug me. The only problem I have is that I don't have the time to visit as much as many of the people here so it's hard to keep up. I end up having to catch up reading so much that I never have time to post! lmao undefined

Sam> good to see you back, even though your butt maybe a little bruised from "ice" skiing /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Hope you exam goes well, I always loved kinetics. Way to go Nikko! We did that with a horse once, everytime he walked over a tarp (or something relitivly scarey) we'd give him lots of praise and/or a treat. Well he became quite proud of himself and everytime something would be on the ground (be it a tarp, or a jacket blown off the railing) he'd run over it and then look for praise or treat!
*sigh* mare has not popped yet, I'm getting ready to get the tongs and squeeze the sucker out of her but she's quiet content will herself. She used to be turned out with 5 other horses (all b!tches) in a lower field but was seperated when we thought she was getting close, and put her in her own field infront of where she used to be. At first she was in heaven because she got a whole round bale to herself but I guess she got bored because she decided to hop the fence and join the other group to eat their round bale too! I think she missed chasing the others away from the round bale, made the hay that much better knowing the others horses wanted it but she wouldn't let them have it. Piggy!
*does happy dance* All my mid-terms are done!! Yay! I had 4 exams before break, and the last one was today! It went really well even though it was really hard (that prof. loves to play with your head). you have to give him a lot of credit. Poor guy, to ride into the ring, have the announcer say your name, and have EVERYBODY look (and critique). I think it took GUTS and I admire him for it. as far as I know, he did Trillium/Futures. he and sue have not been together for some time - about 2 years
Great songwriter too - But the rest of the Junos - industry butt kissing. nothing to do with actual talent, just schmoozing, networking, industry crapola. IMHO.

Bruce showed trillium/Futures I think. I really admire him for doing it. Just imagine how he must have felt, riding into the ring, having the announcer say his name, and KNOW that EVERYBODY on the show ground had stopped what they were doing to watch him (and critique his riding). I think it took a lot of guts, and I really admire him for it. Great songwriter too. the rest of the Junos? what a pile of industry crap - it's not about talent, but rather schmoozing, industry ass-kissing and bucks. did i watch? no read a scarey book, "Birdman" by a writer named Mo something - along the lines of Patricia Cornwell, graphic, violent - but pretty gripping and well written.

Honest, I swear I have nothing to do with your thread's frequent disappearing acts!
By the way, Tin wants her blond, blue-eyed Mountie returned, the one with her name tattooed on his French derrier. Alas, we must hold that one hostage until the return of our guru, David Hasselhoff.

Merry> tell you what, you can keep the blonde haired french mountie, but can I have the brown haired brown eyed mountie back. He lacks the tattooed haunch but also displays and ownership tattoo on his buff chest. Please? come on you can't keep both!
Not fair /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Mar. 5, 2001, 03:08 PM
Why are you so hung up on your Mounties? Are you lacking in manly men in the great far north? What, you have no one to bring in logs from the woodpile to keep the fireplace going? No one to carve a hole in the ice so you can fish for dinner? No one to skin the elk so you have a warm blanket? No one to drive a spigot into a fresh keg of brew?
Can't you share? We like men in uniforms who ride horses, too. The closest we come to that is the San Diego County polo team. /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Oh you did say that! I swear. It was the day you were wearing your grandma's cut off jeans and the purple shirt that was supposed to be long sleeved but you cute the sleeves off? And you were wearing your sparkly purple high heels from when you were five. Don't you remember that? B.G.M. heidi
Mar. 5, 2001, 04:38 PM
The youth of today...sheesh. Bruce's last name is spelt Cockburn, pronounced Coeburn. BTW, is it Nellie Frutator or Fruitstato? /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Bruce is a political activist, wonderful singer/songwriter whose popularity is such that a compilation of covers (by Barenaked Ladies, for one) was released to great critical acclaim a couple of years back. Perhaps reflective of my mood, my favourite lyrics include, "If I had a rocket launcher, some son of a bitch would die". And you thought Trent Reznor was controversial. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Rather than mocking the great Canadian heritage, Merry, shouldn't you be feng-shuing yourself to a seance/EST/yogic flying session with Shirley Maclaine, clad in a white robe and turban? /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Just got in from finishing "chores"--dragging horses out of their new-found igloos(one of the coming yearlings actually tried to roll TWICE on her way out to the pasture this am),dealing with a tractor with a broken leg--should I shoot it??? I don't mind snow, but with the two feet we just got (all at once), it is driving me insane!!! Since I have a lovely Turbo-Powered Kubota (and a Super Turbo-Powered snow-blower to boot), I thought I had it made (may I remind you that Mr. Lynn is in India for two weeks), but having to plow for 5 minutes---go pump up tire--plow for another 5 minutes--go pump up tire, cancel lessons because only the brave, with 4WD can get into this place...

Yes Alanah still rides. She's still with Robin Howard last I heard. She hasn't shown herself in a few years now - but her horse does every now and again. I spoke to her sister not too long ago who gave me an update.
As you may have read in the paper, Alanah recently won a lawsuit against the National Post - she was falsely accused of being a drug addict amongst other things. The article hurt her and her family tremendously. She did deserve to win. The Post was negligent in their reporting.
Say what you will about Alanah ... she's actually a very nice person - just really, really, different. Some people just don't get her and therefore don't like her. I like her. She's never given me any reason otherwise.

Shania Twain rides and in fact takes her horse with her when she's on tour.
Does anyone remember Lee Aaron? Posed for Hustler, chanteuse of big hair and spandex, a real screecher of a singer. She's apparently now covering jazz standards in B.C.
Comedienne Sandra Shamas rides, I believe, and I've seen her at several horse shows. One of the funniest jokes of hers:
-She sees grafitti in the bathroom, one of which reads, "My mother made me a lesbian"; to which she responds, "If I give her the wool, do you think she can think she can knit one for me too?" . /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Bruce is a great songwriter, and I really like him too as a person.
But back to my JUNO rant, getting a JUNO - or getting radio play is not really a measure of talent or creativity - it is all industry and money.
Another great Canadian male singer-songwriter? GARNET ROGERS. and I bet most of you have never even heard of him. doesn't kiss ass, doesn't write 3 minute songs to get radio play...But he is a truly powerful performer, beautiful voice, writes stunning, moving, beautifully written songs, but doesn't "play the game". He'll probably never get a Juno either.
I don't know Allanah M. but I DO remember an interview she did a few years ago in which she stated that her sexual allure was so great, the stallion they were using for the video kept getting an erection.!!! um, she's veeery pretty, but, as someone with a stallion, that made me ROTFLOL. erections (in stallions) are not hard to come by <G>

I'm trying to remember the name of the guy who had the Toronto band called...errr. He used to think he was David Byrne and wore those really boxy suits. What is his name? Who is the band? It's on the tip of my tongue... no I can't even remember the name of their hit song (maybe they had 2 or 3) I remember the video, hence the boxy suit reference. Care to take a wild guess? Blue Peter - Paul Humphreys.
Lori Yates, BTW, is a good friend of ours and gave birth last week to a baby boy. Another 'unsung' talent. Such a wonderful voice; if Patsy Cline were alive, she'd give her a run for her money. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Agree with both Fred and Worthy about the music industry - probably the only one sleazier and more corrupt than the movie industry.
Riddle me this though girls - don't you think there are parallels between success in the schmooze industries and pro riding/training, etc.?
Yes, talented, works hard, but I do think by virtue of his ability to make nice with the rich folk, Eric's suceeded where many have not.

Blue Peter. That's the name I couldn't remember. Thanks for playing ladies. I knew one if not both of you would remember.
The schmooze factor is a major asset in the horse biz. So are Hollywood looks. Now how come one of our lovely and talented horsewomen (you know the one) isn't feeling the love from a few wealty sponsors? Is it really easier for a guy to get ahead?

I saw your post. My experience has been that it can go one of two ways when posting a post that is not vanilla. You can either (a) get ripped limb from limb like a fox caught by the pack of hounds in a Virginia field or (b) be ignored because the god of perception is smiling upon you and somehow everyone does not seem to read your post.
For fun we could wager on which result is likely.
(I actually disagree with the message of your post, but I love you just the same b/c you are from NY. Where 'bouts?) /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
The message didn't come off the way that I meant it, and I really tried to hit "delete", but now I'll just leave it to see what happens. Most of the content was what I meant, but it came off wrong---long day out in the blizzard...

oh and I have a question for the creator of this thread (Our Thread God?) heidi, it's about the future of this thread. Here are my questions:
1- are we merely going to match the CA's thread with number of posts or will we continue to nourture our thread until we have in fact beat them?
2- once this thread is *sniff sobb* deceased, kaput, deader than a door nail, stiffer than a (darn I finish this annalogy? nah), 6 feet under, crossed the bridge, bit the dust, kicked the bucket and more appropraitly "bought the farm", will we retaliate by challenging the "wake" thread or know when to quit while we're ahead?
3- will you wean us slowly back into the outside world? I've lived in our little thread too long and it's scary out there. Perhaps some little pink pills will aid in my resurfacing. One post at a time....one post at a time....one post at a time.....:p

Tinnie, Tin, Tin, not to worry, please note following:
1. We must whoop the CA cliques brass. Don't come to play, unless you're playing to win. That's my football coach impression. Good, eh? I do believe the record is 37 pages - we should scale Everest and strive for 40 pages.
2. We will outdo the CA cliques little wake - wake, shmake! We'll have a thread pageant-cum-seance. Talk about combined training!
3. Once we've reached our thread-page milestone, suggest we all venture to a virtual yet refreshing retreat in Switzerland, where we'll enjoy strolls in the mountains, mineral baths, and face lifts under pseudonyms.
We'll ease ourselves back into BB civilization slowly but confident in the knowledge that we look fabulous and, 'why, yes I have been getting more sleep, thank you.'
Just had a revelation - I think your mare will pop whence we reach our milestone! /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif She's holding out as a show of virtual support to us all. You realize what that means don't you, Tin? The foal will be the thread's baby.
Where's the thread's historian - did anyone or anything give birth during the lifetime of the CA's clique's thread?

Now, the tricky part- if she does give birth when we pulverize the CA's post, then I will be compelled to come up with a good name to celebrate. I can't promise a for sure "naming" because, alas, it is my sister's final choice (if it was mine I would call is Goober or make up a mame like Glomperlikathaym; lets see the announcers pernounce that one!)
So think everyone, what's a good name that starts with "G" that can fullfill this task? *think think think*

Here is a conversation starter:
Four years ago, I leased my broodmare out. As it hasn't been resolved I am not naming names on this board. I could not get the mare back, she was moved several times, literally hidden and not maintained. When I finally did get her back she was in decrepit shape weighing in at about 700 lbs(16.1 1/2h, large framed mare, easily 1200lbs in riding form). The lessee always claimed that it was her, not him and the vet I contacted(who the lessee had slipped with a name, perhaps forwarding the blame) would not talk to me at all, only saying she had breathing problems. I got her back dec 1, 98 and she died July 22, 99. I have been searching for the foal ever since. Legally, without a lot of money, I had no recourse and the filly was "gone", so any claims to her were futile.
Every once in a while, I would put out help adds on boards or key in the stallions name(or who I thought he had bred her to) on a search. One day I got a hit. I contacted the stallion owners, who seemed very guarded. I emailed them my story and the return email was devestating. This man was known for doing this kind of thing in his area. All his horses are in terrible shape. The filly, I found out, was kept on scrub and started very early and sold on very cheaply.
I am trying to get my hands on her to make sure that the rest of her life is a good one. With the help of the stallions owners, we have tracked her down to her new owner. If she has a seemingly good home, I will provide them with information about this filly's exceptional breeding and offer her a home if they ever need one for her. If she is not in my idea of an ideal situation, I am going to try to get her.
It is a situation of guilt and trying to undo the wrong my beautiful mare suffered at the hands of this awful man.
Once that is done, I am going to go after the lessee through the local SPCA.
Canters going to help me, cause she doesn't have anything else to do and as stimpy said to Ren, she's my "feriend".
Has anyone else had an experience like this. Was legal action taken and successful? To me it is cut and dry. He starved my horse which ultimately led to her death, hid her from me, did not return phone calls, moved her, did not provide her with adequate medical care, used her as a lesson horse when the lease was explicit about her not being anything but a broodmare, removed(sold on) the filly when he had no right to do so and was basically in breech of every aspect of our signed agreement.
Unfortunately, cdn law sees it differently.

LCR, because you refer to an agreement, and the mare was intended as a broodmare, what did the agreement stipulate re: ownership of the babies? And why do you conclude that Canadian law isn't on your side? Had the agreement specified that you had the right to any foals, you would have the legal right to claim the filly from the 'new owners' - would you not? If the filly was sold without your knowledge and agreement, didn't the guy, in effect, commit fraud? And if that's the case, couldn't you call the cops?
BTW, could you share your 'feriend' Canter with me? I've only shovelled half the driveway and cannot bring myself to clear the rest. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

and to add to Heidi's questions, was anything signed?
LCR Scott, I am involved with a dispute with a lessee right now. My problem is less serious, however, the health of my horse was jeopardized. The CEF is intervening in the situation at my request, although they will not get involved in "personal disputes". I was able to get help because I only need the horse's passport returned. For several reasons, I will never, ever lease a horse again. I have learned to trust my instincts and have learned that where a horse's welfare is concerned, I will not keep my opinion to myself. There seem to be far more bad horse people than good these days. I hope you find the filly and get some kind of compensation for your loss.

have you found the filly yet? I know that if I was contacted by someone who knew of one of my horses history, breeding etc. I would be thrilled to talk to them. While I wouldn't want to sell them back (unless I was ready to sell them at that time) I would certainly enjoy the comfort of knowing that 'Grandma' would want them if it came to it, and just the comfort of knowing that she came from a mare who was loved.
Good luck!

Canter, been thinking about your query on an earlier page (can't remember the number) about the predicament of a certain female rider in generating sponsorship. You talking about Ainsley?
From an owner's perspective, she'd be measured and judged in the context of her fellow competitors - Ian, Eric, Jay, Mac, etc. - and I'm not certain that Catch 22 enables owners to understand how well she does, in fact, ride. I'd imagine in the minds of most, she's just hangin' on for the ride. I think for most owners, given their financial investment and desire to win, they perceive her as a greater 'risk' than the veterans.
Personally, I think she should pursue more of a corporate/product spokesperson sponsorship relationship with a retailer trying to establish profile among well-to-do teens - i.e. assuming that Club Monaco wanted to pursue the equestrian angle, she'd be perfect for them. What she needs is an agent - yes, someone like you and I, Canter, to guide her career outside the show ring. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Heidi you are oh so right!! If Ainsley was riding a Millcreek GP horse right now they'd be beating the sponsors off with sticks.
Why didn't you call me? I ran out of snow to shovel. Would have loved the additional work out. Bikini training has officially begun.
Anyone else care to comment on LCR Scott's quandry?
I have never heard of a situation as bad as this. Please, she could use the input!!
Bring the ol' snow shovel and bikini-was 50 something today--down here for the weekend--we're supposed to get hit again--if you're really 61, forget it I'd be liable if you had a heart attack...
For LCR Scott, I really haven't had that type of situation arise--several horses out on "trial" that lasted too long, and a horse that came back from a lease broken--not physically, but mentally... I refuse to lease after that--they had a kid (novice at most) jumping this horse 4'+ for no reason other than they wanted to see what she had... Now I have a horse that can jump 4'6" easily, but requires a "specific ride", and is much harder to try and sell...
Heidi, as for your last comment in my general direction, I haven't seen any of your opinions over there in a loonnnnnnggg time, I really don't want to get into a pissing match with a martian...

Jaime Lynn, we all have our crosses to bear; mine at this particular point is trying to get this thread to 40 pages. Seems, though, there's a conspiracy brewing - we have somehow lost a couple of pages today. /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
Leases - I'd only ever lease out to someone else in the barn whom I trusted. Is your 4'6 horse April, BTW?
As with much else in life, a little honesty, especially when it relates to oneself, is a good thing. Very often, the horse can jump 4'6, but the rider can't navigate beyond 2'6. Don't you find that people lie to themselves all the time about their riding talent? Nothing infuriates me more than to witness a perfectly good horse being ruined because the rider/owner can't get over their self-delusion and ego.
BTW, I ain't gonna comment elsewhere cause I feel like I'm talking into a vacuum.

I'm with Heidi on the lease issue. I might consider leasing in-barn, but that would be all. Mind you, I seem to have a problem selling horses and am reaching collector status! I have one horse right now who is "for sale", but whom I will probably never sell. ideally, I will be able to "lease" (using that term lightly) to someone to show while keeping him with me at my barn. By lease I mean, I want someone to show him and give him a job- I don't want to let him go.
I was 4mos prego at that show--that's why I look so... You know...

- I had a signed lease. The only thing missing from it was the consequences of breeching of the outlined points. He signed it, but did not pay me. He expressly leased her for breeding. I had done this successfully once before with a very reputable woman.
-I have contacted 2 different lawyers and got the same answers. Very expensive, you can't bleed a stone, the filly had been sold and the buyers bought in good faith were the most important.
-both thought I should go after him through the SPCA. They(SPCA) had a lackadazical(sp) reaction when I originally contacted them. Let's call it no reaction at all. I had to ask what constituted abuse if this didn't. She said she didn't like my 'tone'. Apparently, I have to be very pushy about this and hand them over a prepared file with photos and an accounting of what happened.
-At this time, I know the name of who bought the filly recently and am waiting confirmation o her whereabouts and a phone number. This is her third owner.
There is a lot to what happened that I don't want to go into until I have come to a conclusion on the filly's status.
Leases, except in exceptional circumstances are not an option for me now. I learned the hard way.

LCR, have you considered the possibility of taking him to small claims? Not that you'll ever replace your mare but just to prove to him that he can't f*ck people over and get away with it. Secondly, I don't know who this person is but if he has a 'business' that's reliant on breeding, perhaps the mere threat of an impending lawsuit would be sufficient -- though, must admit I don't know what you could ever get from him to replace your mare. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
How old is the filly that she's now been sold on to her third owner?
Beyond that, since you haven't specified whether the filly, legally, belongs to you or not, if he sold her on without your consent and knowledge I still think there's a case for fraud to be made -- in which case, call the cops.
What a heartbreaking scenario; even sadder, I bet it's not that uncommon.
I wish you the best of luck; do let me know if there's anything I can do.
Most often times, broodmares are either leased for a breeding season, where the owner of said broodmare gets her back in foal to sire of first foal, or they pay a lease fee-get foal- and work with you to get her bred back, while keeping the original foal(from the lease).
OMG--there are so many alternatives, but if there was no obligation involving the foal, and if there was no clause involving that the horse be returned in the same condition that it was received...
Why????????
why did your mare go through so much neglect??????

Well sorry to disapoint you guys but the mare didn't last until the 40th post /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
It's a GIRL!!! Born Wednesday night at 8 pm while me and my sister were riding of course! We decided to check on mare around 10 pm (after ride) and found a whole lot of cars waiting for us and a little filly. Well, sorry not little filly B I G filly. Birth was very quick (5 mins if that) and was caught all on tape by my parents (who were called) and assisted by our wonderful barn manager. Brie didn't show any signs that she was in labour until 10 mins before the birth. Nice huh? lol!
Brie didn't deliver the placenta so after a recommended 3-4 hours of waiting we got mr. vet back out to remove it. This was around 12 pm. He came out helped it along but at last moment she turned to chase after her baby (which has already been nicknamed "little $h!t") and pulled hte last part out herself, prolapsing a tiny part of her uterus. So he tried to put everything back where it belonged (as much as he could reach) and we've been watchin her for the last 3 hours to make sure she wouldn't do a true prolapse. Aren't I a nice sister for stick around that long? (Ie. she owns me BIG time /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )
Anyways we joked at call the filly Gump because she's a little slow, but that's o.k /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Oppps, sorry I'm so tired here's her stats:
Name: Gallibrie (Galli)
Height: 11.2hh (ALL legs)
Weight: around 120
colour: hard to tell, kind of a mousy chestnut might turn into a clear bay
Markings: 1 big beautiful star, a small dt on nose and as far as we can see right now, 2 white socks, a white coronet band and a white smear (could be wrong her legs are pretty light but that's what it looks like)
She's got an attitude on her, she was up and walking within 10 mins, bucking and running within 2 hours. She's big bold and beautiful /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I don't have any pictures right now (hey, it's 5 in the morning and I'm dead tired) but we shot 4 hours worth of video (2 video camera's! lol!) so we should get a afew still shots out of that /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Will have them up for tomorrow hopefully!

on a healthy baby - best wishes with her.
LCR Scott - your story breaks my heart. You're right though about the SPCA, the animal cruelty legistation has no teeth. Basically, if the SPCA doesn't SEE the horse IN THE ACT OF BEING NEGLECTED (and their definition is not ours) nothing can be done. and even if the person is charged with neglect (we have all heard the horrible stories of the guy tying a puppy to his bumper and drivng down the road, dragging it to "teach" it a lesson ) even IF charged, the law itself is weak. Animals have no rights and very little protection under the law, and legislation to protect them has been vigorously opposed by Farmers and slaughter house operators who are worried that phrases like "unnecessary pain and suffering" might have an impact on their freedom to treat animals as they wish.
with the new session of Parliament the Justice minister has said that she will table a Bill containing amendments to the Criminal Code: Cruelty to Animals section. Please, everyone, write to your MP asking him or her to support this bill. current legislation allows animals to be beaten, neglected, starved and tortured with the perpetrators receiving little or no punishment. animal abuse is a crime. rant over for now ( at least it got me off the Junos)
LCR Scott would you like to email me privately, I'd like to see if I can help in anyway.
Canter - I don't know - I just thought the whole thing might escalate into a knockdown, drag em out fight.
and what is this other thread you guys are talking about?
You're probably sleeping at this moment, but the color you're describing confuses me, did she have this (I thought it was a liver chestnut when born, but then realized there were going to be black legs--as she dried-and black mane/tail).

Of course my lease specified that she be returned in the same shape she left. Actually, it was very specific about her health and she needed special farrier work for a slight rotation due to an abcess. It was a legally drawn up lease. My mistake(stupity, if you will) was actually letting him take her.
He was good at calling me until about 3 months into the lease. I called the OPP and they weren't particularly helpful, because they didn't consider her stolen and he had a year left of his lease. I drove to Kingston to try to find her. It took me all day, but I managed to find someone who knew someone, who knew him. I went to the farm. There were four Rottweilers chained to the fence(in good condition), blocking entry to the premises. When he finally showed up and got her out, she was fine. She was in good condition and seemed happy enough.
I was alone with my sister, on a farm in the middle of no where, surrounded by huge dogs and men. She seemed ok, clean and well fed. I had no reason, except how I felt in the pit of my stomach, to remove her. By the time I got home(three hours) I had changed my mind. He moved her again and this time I couldn't find her. I left messages telling him I would pay all her expenses and give him the baby if he'd let me have her back. Then he changed his phone number. Again, no help from the OPP and SPCA.
Next time I heard from him was after the filly was born. He acted as if he had never received a message from me. It was when I got the photographs of the baby that I panicked big time. Way over the top. At this point I still did not know who he had bred her to, either, so that was a dead end.
What actually happened to her was this. He took her and used her in lessons until sending her away to be bred. The stallion owner refused to bred her because she was in terrible condition. He left her with the breeders and they fattened her up and eventually bred her. When he got her back was just days before I made that trip to Kingston looking for her, resulting in me thinking she was ok. The stallion owners ended up suing him for her keep, but could not get their hands on the foal either. They tried, but he coughed up the money and he had had her sold and hidden. A lot of people in the area, it turns out, know this guy. He drifts, screws people and drifts, taking his horses with him. What is most upsetting is that he said he owned her and no one thought it odd that a man like this could get his hands on a horse like her. She is well known in conformation and breeding circles. The stallion owner knew who she was, but didn't know whether to believe him or not.
He kept her on scrub, in a rocky field. Hardly fed her at all. I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't shod on that rotation either. He does this to people, I was not the first. He got me at a time that I had very little money and was pregnant. He preyed on that. I was very naive.
How did I finally get her back? I think a vet told him he was going to have to report her to the SPCA and he made her my problem. He tried to fatten her up, but she was already to far gone. She was so bad when she returned that my vet cried. We all cried. For days, every time we looked at her. He called me about returning her sept1 and I got her back in early Dec. I had even offered to come get her(no returning of phone calls).
The lesson here is that a clause in my lease might have prevented any of this because he would not have been able to sell the foal until I had got my mare back in good condition. Mind you, a person with no conscience is a person with no conscience. Every end must be attended to in a lease or there are loopholes.
Oh, and one of the lawyers was an equine lawyer.
She had a few good months after she came home. We wormed her and got her special feed. She put on about 2-300 lbs. Still skinny, but no visible backbone and only 3-4 ribs. She hung out with the weanlings, took care of them and loved them. If I posted those photos of the day she returned you would all be sick.
Sorry for the long post. Believe it or not, I have left out some key information supplied to me by the stallion owner.
Canter has been very supportive of me through the latest of this as has another good friend.
Thank you everyone for your imput.
My cute carmel coloured (with a star) foal grew up to be a grey. I thought he was going to get darker and be a chestnut, but he just kept getting lighter, until he was the same colour as his mother. He's still a cutie though. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

LCR, just your post and I'm sickened.
Here's a thought. Can you 'out' him as the a$$hole that he is - could you approach Horse Sport and offer to write an article on leases and relate your experience? There may not be an acceptable legal remedy but perhaps you can use your experience as a cautionary tale for others and in the process out him as the sleaze that he is.

I've been racking my brain for weeks to find some way to track this guy down and expose him for the creep that he is, but I keep hitting a dead end.
Legally, LCR Scott can't prove ownership of the baby unless she was registered, showing LCR's broodmare as dam. Unfortunately this is highly unlikely. I'm hoping that some how, some way the baby can be tracked down so that LCR Scott can either rescue her, or at the very least, have some kind of peace of mind knowing that she is in a good home.
LCR knows that I'm ready and willing to do a midnight rescue if necessary. I've got my all-black outfit dry cleaned and my facemask by the front door.
Something that just occured to me. LCR what are the odds that that guy is a CEF member? If he was, or if you think he may be let me know. From the sounds of things he's too shady and cheap to be a member.
If he was or is a member there is some recourse.

Congratulations to you, Brie, and Galli! I have officially fallen in looove with the little, long-legged Galli! She is going to be TALL! OMG! She's adorable! How's the mare doing? Can I please be Galli's aunt? I can be Auntie Doubletake! I LOVE her, Tin! Congratulations on such a beautiful little girl! /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Another suggestion LCR. Have you considered taking the story to one of the tv news show consumer advocates - i.e. Goldhawk on CTV and Peter Silverman on City?

Congrats Tin! She is VERY cute!
LCR's situation is awful, I think Heidi's suggestion of contacting a television station that does consumer reports would be a good idea. At our local CTV station the main broadcaster is an avid polo player and his co-broadcaster-person used to ride at my old barn on one of their horses, I know they would probably do a story like LCR's. I mean they do it for small animals...a couple years ago we had a humane story involving cats (200 of them) that made headline's for days.
As for finding that dirtbag I'd phone as many barns in the area you're from. Someone has to know of him and his whereabouts.
Goodluck.

of going to the television stations is good ( the only problem is that TV likes visuals)
What if you just posted this guy's name, here and now? one of us might know him or of him and at the very least it might prevent someone else from getting taken in. or is that illegal?

Sorry for your experience and troubles, LCR Scott. I really think that heidi had a good idea about the TV show thing. All those shows are always looking for stories, and they help you find what you are looking for and try to help resolve conflicts. Good luck.

It wouldn't hurt to contact Goldhawk or Silverman. The worst they could say is no.
Fred, while I would love for LCR to post the creep's name, doing so would open her to libelous action and Erin would be forced to close this thread.
Perhaps one day LCR will be able to post a "Does Anybody Know?" thread. Then we will all know.

can you imagine if Erin had to close this thread, and we are so close to our goal?
on another lighter note, perhaps a cautionary tale about reading the BB before going to bed...
Last night I DREAMT ABOUT HEIDI (insert googlie faces here ) ( I still can't do that !)anyway, here's the dream:
I went with my husband to an indoor horse show (2 impossibilities) it seemed to be "Henderhell". someone came up to me and said, "Heidi's here, come meet her" so we walked over to a 6 horse full of kids and ponies (more googley faces) and there was Heidi (who I have never knowingly met) looking a lot like the trainerformerlyknownas Sue Pritchard!! that was it. scarey. Stephen King, move over baby.
ps Heidi was fully dressed.

OK, does anyone watch cartoons? My beast was just in the tub singing her lungs out (horifically I might add) like DeeDee from "Dexter's Laboratory", I was PMP in the kitchen... What ever happened to the classics? Yeah, you see them occaisionally, but these days...
HR---What is the "normal" amount of water that a "normal" horse should consume in a 24hr period?
but once again Tin---Congrats on a healthy baby!!!!!! Maybe Aunt Sabra will come visit someday.
Next project on this thread--why do some people have NO sense of humor???
Yes this board is mostly horse related, but it's also fun, and I think that some people around here are WAY too serious. /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks Sabra!! Especially for putting up with me (that goes for everyone too) I know I'm not the patient type and probably drove y'all right up the wall! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Auntie Sabra is welcome anytime, just let me know when your coming and I'll smuggle you and beast child across the border /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Ok and here's my theory why some people don't have a sense of humour:
-The Sense of Humour fairy forgot to whack them on the head when they were born, so I think it should be our job to bonk all the non-sense of humour people on the head to see if we can restore it /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif What do you think? I have a homemade wand at home just waiting so that when I get my funding, watch out non-sense of hunourers!
-And I don't think they use enough /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif perhaps we should make it maditory that each post have no less than two smilies /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
