What is the best outdoor arena footing for So.Florida? My friend has cement dust and says it is wonderful. What is the best outdoor footing for Florida?

I rode (H/J) in the Ft. Myers area for 18 years, and really liked the washed sand/shell mix (coquina shell is great if you can get that). It really depends how much drainage you have. The sand/shell mix was a bit dusty (but they had sprinklers). Sand/Clay mix works too, but it can be wet and slick if there is too much clay (also stains everything a peach/pink color). Also depends on the type of riding you want to do. I know many arenas have a limestone base with the footing on top. Good luck with your arena...and post pictures:)
