What would you get them?

(I know this is kind of a random topic, but it just popped into my head and wouldn't go away.)

Let's see (you can shop for anyone, and as many people as you want)...

FatLilPony- Her own barn in Florida, complete with a small house. And a one-way ticket out of Puerto Rico!

Spaz00- I'm torn between a Children's hunter and a Butet... I guess I'll get you the hunter, and I'll make Ponyperson spring for the Butet.

ETBW- Shavings! All I hear is shavings, shavings, shavings! Fine! I'll get you the darn shavings! /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Winglet- You can have Whit! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Steve- How about scooter accessories? A mate for your scooter?

Louise, Erin, SoEasy, Portia etc- Cheese and fruit baskets, and $500 each. Consider it a belated gift on behalf of the Juniors Clique and the Really Big Thread!

Okay, now I'm exhausted from all that shopping, and I haven't even gotten started! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Spaz -- I will get you a saddle that fits your new horse so you don't have to use two riser pads /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Maybe we can get one saddle, share it, and split the costs

Nickelodian -- the cute chestnut paint with purtee socks so I get to ride it for 6 months until you're all better... no, no, I've changed my mind. I'm going to outfit her tack trunk with hot pink, electric blue, and neon yellow polo wraps and saddle pads. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

AAJumper -- some CFM boots, haaaaaaaaaaa ha

If anybody needs suggestions for me, I will reiterate that I want a SO letterman's jacket. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif AAJumper, you could send me one from your barn if you want, I can be an honorary boarder. I just don't want to wear my middle school one anymore!

Delighted-Style (Wal-Mart presents for everyone!) For starters, I'd give everyone a safe and happy year with their critters.. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

BaileyBFF - A horse! A horse who won't buck her off and give her a concussion, or who won't tear down a line like a mad mad fool, or one who measures more than 14h1 /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif A night on the town would be a stocking stuffer, to be shared with HuntJumpSC (and HJSC's Greek Hottie)

HuntJumpSC - Well, I'd say new shirts 'cause you obviously have an addiction. How about a padded show budget so you can get Raleigh-Duh going and then let me catchride him for a little while /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif And, a lot of Smurf Blue anythings..

Paula - A stress-free, vet-free year with your kittens and your awesome horses. A cute foal halter for Briana The Cute, a pretty (because distinguished mares are not "cute") halter for Canasta, and something in a pink or blue for MicroCanastaInWaiting. And, a custom dressage saddle.. with a gorgeous young dressage horse free for the riding under it. Maybe a plane ticket to the south, for when you need to thaw out.

Lammie - a non-bridle leather saddle so I don't have to hear you whimper about scratching it again /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif And, maybe a pair of jeans that are actually long enough

Serengeti - I'll give you brakes and a steering wheel for your jumper if you give me the same in return.. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

To the rest of the Carolina Clique - A big fat par-tay! Whooooo!

And, for everyone else who is invisible/ignored/forgotten - anything you want, plus a whole thread just for you, where you can tell us how your day is going etc.. and it'll rival the Greenie Support Group for length! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Last, not least, Merry - FISH TACOS! Boatloads of 'em! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Then, you can pass 'em out to all of your friends for presents next year.. kind of like a fruitcake, you know?

I'm sure I'll think of more later.. but everyone else is getting things from eBay, not Wally-World.. it's easier, you know /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Let's see... what to buy, and who's been nice to DMK... /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Duffy and Jair (and me) shall go on a shopping spree at Hadfields...

VTrider (and me) shall go to Augusta to get us a cute cowboy and a cutter. If she's really nice, we will let Colin come along too...

Portia, Robby (and I - anyone seeing a trend here? /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ) shall have primo seats at the water obstacle in KY next year...

AHC and the NY clique (and me!!!) shall all show at Lake Placid next year. We will stay at that REALLY fancy lodge that I am not even normally allowed to drive near /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif We will save a special suite for Louise and Silly Mommy to stay in and visit us.

SoEasy (and I) shall go out to Sees Candies in San Francisco. It will not be a pretty sight!

Weatherford (and I) will get a(nother) really nice Irish horse.

Hattie (and I) will get matching YSODs. Wait! Too late! Willhave to think on this one, but I can see where it may involve Hadfields (again).

Erin (and I) will have a vet-free year (pleasepleaseplease).

Heidi, Hillary, Alan (and I) will get smashingly drunk on a Carribbean Cruise, and possibly alter the world order.

Merry, Lord Helpus, Beezer, LaurieB (and I) will have angelic, perfect greenies, and our thread will die of boredom as everyone tries desperately to make it sound really awful that our horses are in front of our leg, straight, holding pace, not spooking and otherwise behaving like they are actually broke.

Yup, 2002 HAS to be better than 2001, don't you think?

Lets see

ETBW gets sound healthy horses (no more booboos), and NEVER has to post on the greenie thread. Also appreciative eaters.

Portia gets a reorganized rule book accepted. And time to ride her horses.

Weatherford gets buyers for her Irish horses- so she can get MORE of them.

Colin gets catch rides on whatever horse she wants.

Fairweather gets lots of takers for the CANTER horses.

Reginapony gets many good years.

VTrider gets a cutting horse and a cowboy to go with it.

HN73 gets a job she loves with lots of time to ride (sidesaddle).

Jrmasm and Miss Maam get a medium.

Miniwelsh gets a perfect farm.

Robbie gets a beautiful healthy foal.

Wannabegifted and DQwannabe get Prelim horses.

Duffy gets CLOTHES.

Tootsie gets a sound horse to ride at Prelim.

Jair already got Alice. He gets to keep her.

And everybody gets sound, sane, talented horses, the time to ride them, and the money to pay for them.

Jo, step away from the middle school letterman jacket...put it down...gently...step away....that's it. I can send you a letterman jacket that I have from my OLD barn...how about that? /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif It's been in my closet collecting dust for 4 years.

On second thought, I'll send ya some anti-aging cream for Xmas, so you can age as beautifully as I have. Forever young, you know!

While Mr.AAJumper would probably appreciate the CFM boots, I can't say they are making an appearance on my Christmas list! /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif I can, however, give you the number of Leather 'N Spice if you'd like to donate some $$$ to the custom chap fund. Hey, what color is the one from your old barn? I'll take it off your hands! I just want to stop wearing the one from middle school! It's so geeky, but good to ride in.

Jo, it's navy w/grey sleeves, red and gray on the collar and sleeves. It's got my old barn name and logo on the back, and my name on the front. If you want it, it's all yours!

Let's see ... this year I've actually almost completed my shopping before December 1! I have 2 people left to purchase gifts for and I actually have wrapped all of my other purchases too. There is something to be said for planning. I usually am a 12/15'er running around in a blind Scroogey panic. This year I just said no, sweetie. I wanted to have a fun holiday season, so I've gotten my Pilates-toned butt into gear and I'm LOVING it. A really neat thing I'm FINALLY going to get to do is go foxhunting! We're going with my friend in Oklahoma (Harvard Foxhounds) on 12/8 and I get to ride her newly-imported Irish horse.

For the BB'ers ...

Jair - I'm working a deal with my industry contacts and guess who the next Patagonia coverboy will be???

Jeb - God, I loves me some Jeb and I misses me some Jeb. I will get him a "synced" Palm Pilot so he can check into the BB on a regular schedule.

ETBW - A month at the Culinary Institute in Montepelier, Vermont. (I need someone to cater our "union" ceremony if that ever happens ... I refuse to do it until I get a band of platinum.)

VTRider - a new job that's actually going to take her places and a $200 gift certificate to Wal Mart.

DMK - I would love to purchase for DMK one of those "The Game" inspired true-life scenarios. How fun would it be to incorporate all of her horsey knowledge and adventures into one of those?

Heidi-ugh - We'll spend the morning at a day spa then have a bottle of champers and hit Hermes. I love harassing the women in their about the horse products. They're clueless.

Fred - What could you get someone who is already an angel? I know, I know ... the Gail Rogers Shrine will be constructed in downtown Little Rock beginning next week. A fully bronze-cast statue (12 feet tall) with little TB's running around everywhere at her feet.

InWhyCee - A man with a slow hand and deep pockets who is not afraid to hit the scene in Chelsea when we finally get back to the city to visit!

Janet - More time and money to put her excellent skills as a horseman on display in the competition arena.

Ryan - A bag of switches and a year as a WS for The George (he is looking, you know).

Heather - My bestest buddy ... would you like to join Heidi-ugh and me at the day spa?

Hilary - My other bestest buddy ... I'm purchasing for her a guarantee that Star is going to be unflappable when she gets backed next year.

And, for me, I would love a 5 year old National Hunt Bred (preferably by Sadler's Wells) Irish TB, bay with chrome, nice bone, 16.3hh, with a pleasant personality.

For everyone else ... let's have a big ol' dinner-on-the-grounds Southern-inspired Par-Tay to celebrate the season!

Happy Holidays!

For DMK, I think I'll get a trust fund... why work when you can ride and show?

For Lisa, I think a new pair of Vogels and some magic dust (makes anything sound!)

For ICKY, who already has *everything* as far as I can tell... hmmmmm...a new jr jumper?

For Portia, I think I'll wrap up some time to ride and some education for the rest of us, so she doesn't have to explain everything "in layman's terms" all the time!

For Weatherford, certainly a few more book deals and yes, MORE NICE IRISH HORSES. (Are you sending me Shak?????)

For Linda Allen, a successful WEG and lots of entries in the young jumper program.

For everyone else... Christmas hampers from Harrods, complete with lovely adult beverages for the olders, and the yummiest cookies for the youngers... wrapped up in a nice Horse and Hound plaid car blanket...

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

RedOctober - You get one of each: Beval New Canaan (stitched, padded, unstitched, everything), Hadfields, Edgewood, New Cavalry, Pessoa, Showmark, Herve Godignon, etc. etc. bridles w/reins and martingale. Try them on Cody and send the ones you don't like back to me (or keep them, whatever /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

SoEasy - I'm stealing Winglet's digital camera so he can't take any more pictures of you looking like you're about to murder someone /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Winglet - I'm stealing your digital camera so you can't take any more pictures of SoEasy looking like she's about to murder someone /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

ETBW - I'll try to talk our dearest Winglet into going to college for at least a year /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

For the Jr. Clique - I'm going to buy you all the nicest, prettiest approved ( /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif ) helmets we can find - even if I have to con Charles Owen into making one that's really really skinny /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

For the Canadian Clique, polarfleece jackets for all, along with wool dress sheets for your horsies! Oh yes - a week or two at WEF (bring your horses!) with trainer of your choice.

For our beloved moderators, just tell me what you want and it's yours /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And to anyone I missed - a million dollar shopping spree at Beval (or Dover, Hadfields, wherever you choose)

-Sound, sane horses that are able to do whatever disipline you chose and pack you to a win, but still make you feel like you were the one who brought home the ribbons, not them.

-Gorgeous stables crammed with all the little "extras" that you always wanted.

-A large, competent barn crew (including the vets and blacksmiths of your dreams.) to keep the above mentioned stables functioning as well as possible. All wages pre-paid of course.

-Unlimited lessons with the coach of your choice.

-Tack and wardrobe buying session with the best informed of the COTH fashion police.

-Health and happiness for both the human and non-human members of your families!

Merry Christmas all!

Thanks, SoEasy - that would be REALLY nice!

And I shall send you a Leprechaun to do all your housecleaning forever. (And you won't even have to share her with me!)

Louise - I send you an Irish rainbow with its proverbial pot of gold - so you can afford to come visit...

Fatlilpony - a one way first class ticket out of PR for you and your pony. To Ireland, actually.

ErinB - a transporter so you can visit anyone in the world and not have to fly there.

MOConnor - I send you a new refreshed and fast Solicitor. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif (He won't be Irish, but licensed in Ireland...)

To everyone else - I send the Irish Sport Horse or Irish TB of their dreams - for the Division of their choice. All beautiful, all quiet, all wonderful movers and exceptional jumpers. (Santa has an exceptionally large sleigh this year.)

I continue to ask him for a large farm or estate, but there are no signs I am going to get it...

sounds great small change, may I double the order for everyone?!
thank you Heidi, for the week at a spa.. how did you guess?
for Heidi - a weekend in Paris with Hans, a beautiful leather bag filled with a good book, lingerie, bath stuff... and maybe my nice Quarter Horse mare to ride when you get home (she is the best!)
Robby - you are the sweetest.... I would like to give you a FRED BABY - your choice - a trip up here with Robert, a great room at the King Eddy - tickets to MamaMia - then come on over, stay with us for a while, and pick yourself a baby!!! Thank you for your friendship and kindness.
Quinn, would you like to have a week at the spa with me?? Or, how about a week somewhere warm, in Feb,with Randy- and someone absolutely reliable to look after the horses while you are away - so you can actually relax...and have fun.

For everyone who has saved a horse from a sad end, an extra stall in your barn, all the hay, grain and bedding you could ever need, and a guardian angel looking out for you too.

I wish all of you all the kindness you have given returned in spades, health and success (however you term it) with your horses... and peace and time to enjoy it for all of us.
Thank you for your kindness to me and your friendship and support, for making me laugh when times were sad, and for sharing your humour, your stories, your love for your horses...
Happy Holidays!
