I have a short flap (14.5''), 16'' seat dressage saddle. It looks pretty ridiculous with regular sized dressage pads. Think 4'' out the back, and a good 6'' hanging below.

It fits my AP pads just about perfectly, but the forward-cut of the pad looks odd with the straight flap of my saddle.

Should I try some pony pads? Pony AP pads are too small, but maybe the dressage pads will just fit, since they're longer cut?

Are there places out there that make sized dressage pads? Petite? Thanks!

A silly, hunter-land question, I know, but the regular pads swallow my saddle (and my short-backed horse) alive!

Would one of these work?

Pony dressage pads (http://www.usg-na.com/products/productdetail/Quilted+Saddle+Pad+Dressage/part_number=589/9782.0.1.2.23771.0.0.0.0?pp=12&) (in every color!)
- unfortunately no actual measurements listed that I could find.

Just For Ponies carries the PRI pad (http://www.pri-equine.com/SaddlePads/Dressage/D55009s.htm)

Some of the Greenhawk AP pads are cut the same as the dressage pads except shorter (length & drop), so look at pads from different manufacturers.

I'm looking for the dressage shaped pads (numnahs) but keep getting UK shops :(

Just bought this, it's AP but I thought it looked pretty dressage-y : http://www.horseloverz.com/Horse-Clothing/63033-Fritz-Thiedemann-Anatomic-Olympic-Pad.html

the High Point Advantage works well on my small horse. http://www.dressageextensions.com/ProductDetail.asp?KEY=2515
maybe it will work well with your small saddle too?

I second Seamsright! Great quality, and the small is short along both the backs and the sides. I had one for my 14hh Arab his first year under saddle. We've since gone to a medium as he's grown, and has a different saddle now.

I also recommend the PRI pads..they are also at a reasonable price, wash well and are not as stiff as alot of the dressage pads on the market...

Agree with the Seamsright pads. I just ordered 4 custom felt pads which are terrific. They were great to deal with, just call and you can find out what measurements are needed and go from there. Great customer service and extremely fast shipping. I think I had all 4 custom pads within a week!
