And what are you showing in, which ones are you going to, what is your horses name, etc.

I'll start /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well if (and that's a big if) my horse is sound/ready, I will be showing in Limit, 2'6" Medal and perhaps YNP. His name is Skyward Bound, he's a gray paint. I'll be going to all of them (knock on wood), unless my horse isn't ready for the first one because he is still lame!

OK, your turn /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am not going but my sister is planning on taking her new horse. It will be his first show so we are not expecting much. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif She would probably be posting here but she is in Austin at her trainers and I don't know when she is coming back. She will most likely do the green division. His name is Texas Swing and he is a solid bay. I don't know which shows she is going to, she wanted to go to all three, but Donna and Domonie are going to Biltmore and I don't know when they will be back. Good Luck!!

kissandtell, I just got back from England! Well, Europe really, we went everywhere...

I hated it, personally. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Not to get your hopes down or anything! (It was my parents' fault though)

What's your horse's show name?

Spaz, I'd be going if MY horse was sound, if she jumped like a nice, sane horse, and if I had the $$$. So, I'm not going.

What are the dates? Some of the gang from back home is coming down for the second one, but I don't know what dates that is... I seem to have lost my calendar!

Starbucks
Jun. 30, 2001, 08:31 PM
I might be hitting the last two, if Star's ready. If then, I'll be doing the Pre Green flats and maybe Schooling Hunter, if he's jumping consistently enough. And, if Sebastion's ready, I'll probably be doing the Limits.

On the last two shows, look for a big chestnut TB with an upside down exclamation point on his face, and a big lanky bay TB with a star and a big scar on the leg with the white on it. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Show names are Starbucks and Night Time Rounder.

Wow.. there's lots of people going.

I'll be in the area for the first two shows (with my buddy Ashley doing the first one and my buddy Stacy doing the second one, how could I not? In other words, I will most likely be thier groom. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Add on the fact that my barn is a measly 10 mintues away, and how could I resist making a few appearances?) but I won't be showing until the third one. Hopefully. If we show I'll be in the 3'-3'3" jumpers. My horsey's show name is Charlie Brown, and if you can find my barn (at the second and third shows, anyway... my trainer and his string of horses will be in Colorado during the first show) it's called Manor Equestrian Center. Follow the stupid drooling boxer named Bruno. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If this many people are going to be there, we should have some sort of Summer Circuit get-together so we can all meet and antagonize each other! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

And i found out today that we're prolly gonna go all over the UK. Yay! Hopefully i'll have fun in spite of missing horsey shows /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'd like to meet all you guys .. I talked to MsRid for like 30 seconds at a couple shows, but I haven't even seen any of you others.

I'll be at all three showing the Marson Carson Man. Maybe in the intermediates (possibley opens) depending on how schooling goes (and we all know what that can be like with Carson). I too ride at SOF, and assuming we will be in the same place we have been for four years, Our stalls will be located on the w/u side of the barn, the last row. Gray/Maroon Stall Drapes. See ya'll there!!

My horsey's show name is Simply Irresistable, and we will be the loud horse in the 3ft, the one that you can hear before you see (he doesn't roar, he has a snorting problem /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

I'll be the goofy looking one probably leading around a large chestnut gelding with a funny looking face and three short socks. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif My trainer said he'd be ready, so I've already sent in my entry for the second two. I'm doing the CT Green HUS, Limit Rider Eq Flats, and the Beginner Rider HUS if he's doing well, and if not we'll end it after the Limit. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

My trainer may be bringing Thumper, too, and he's a 17.1 hh 3 y.o. (BIG baby!!!) steel gray that looks somewhat Sebastionish, for those who've seen pics of him .. if not, he's a lanky, lazy, I-don't-give-a-care TB that looks faintly mulish. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hope to see you all there! I'll be wearing a dark blue polo shirt, probably, with a jumping horse on it that says 'Blue Jazz' .. a little outdated, seeing as it was for Jasper when we were hauling him to shows, but it still fits. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif And my khaki breeches and tall boots.

I trimmed Star's bridlepath and ears today to get an idea of what I needed to do .. and good GRIEF the person that had him before trimmed his bridle path way too LONG. So, now, he has a shaved bridle path, a nice, long, fluffy, thick mane that goes halfway down his neck (gonna need to pull that .. :P) and a 3-inch-long MOHAWK between the mane and bridle path.

Heehee .. now just look for the 'New age' horse standing around. Maybe I'll be able to braid that back, though. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Whats the ring like... ROTFL! TEENY! It's very small but the jumps are really easy. Nothing colorful or spooky or overly difficult. Its meant to be inviting. They're pretty small (don't look 3'3" to me!), so don't stress out about it. You'll do fine.

Sebastion didn't like the jump with a square bale of hay under it .. our round would have been perfect if not for the stop there. ;P But, overall, it's a nice ring. I'm kinda pondering showing the Greens and then just putting him in some flat classes in the indoors, gets too hot outside! Spaz, when Matt was working on the new barn, he was using a saw.

The saw is very, very scary.

Chelsea not only broke another set of cross ties, but she took off down the aisle when I was trying to put her bridle on, almost trampling Deanna and the spotted pony.

And no, she's still not sound. I just got on to see what I could feel. Sigh. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

STABLEGIRL- I don't really know what to say about any tips for being a hunter. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I am not an expert by any means. You might want to go check out the Summer Circuit in Austin and watch the show. Everyone there is pretty laid back and friendly and I am sure that anybody there could offer you suggestions on finding a trainer. The show is going on this weekend and there will be two more over the next couple of weeks. The next one is July 27-29 and then the final one is August 10-12. They are all at The Texas Exposition and Heritage Center. I live near San Antonio and my sister used to train with someone here (not even going to discuss that experience) but now she has a trainer in Austin and she hauls her horse there to train. There are a lot of trainers between San Antonio and Austin, you just have to pick one that suits your needs. A lot of them are strictly show barns. You might want to try the Conns at Twisted Oaks. They are probably the closest San Antonio trainers to you. You also might want to call that new tack store off of Boerne Stage road. They might know of some Hunter/Jumper trainers closer to you. You might have more success if you can train in Austin though. San Antonio does not offer much as far as showing if you want to do local shows. Hope this has helped some. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
