View Full Version : Dressage instructors near Boyds/Gaithersburg, MD?

I am a h/j rider looking to get into dressage. I am currently riding a former dressage Pony Club horse, but I feel I have some gaps in my flatwork, and I would like to learn how to "problem solve" better to help him (and any other horse I ride) to progress as an athlete.
Any suggestions on good dressage instructors in the Boyds/Gaithersburg area of Maryland? I am hoping for the $40-60 range--is this realistic for dressage?

I took a couple of lessons with Hilary Moore (http://www.mooredressage.com/) when I was up in Maryland and she's out that way in Montgomery County and when I took them her fee was $60. Anyway, I liked riding with her and she helped me out with Kieran a bit.

Don't know their prices but the following are in that area (disclaimer, I have not taken lessons from these but know them because I live in the area):
Caroline Jordan (I think she still teaches)
Hillary Moore (already mentioned above)
There are others I just can't think of at the moment
If you want to travel a little further for the opportunity to ride a PSG schoolmaster:

Abby Adleburg -- http://abbyadelberg.com/ She's in Boyds. If you are near her, she might even come to you. Knowledgeable, friendly, calm instruction.
Julie Hagen -- http://www.basculefarm.com/ She runs an eventing barn in Poolsville and is a very capable dressage instructor.
