Loved this show. Hipsters making fun of a range of hipsters. My favorite sketches were the "Remember the nineties? The eighteen nineties?" sketch and the adult babysitter.

My 27 yr old son and his girlfriend (who own a house together, live in towndown Baltimore and have been together forever) are getting married on FRIDAY the 13th, in the evening.

This pretty much sums up their planning so far:

But throw in the Catholic future MIL on the other side that wants the formal wedding, huge marshmellow dress, arranged seating and a cake topper (they aren't having cake, they are having pies) and WHOHOOT =are we having fun now!

My husband and I just stay out of it and try not to find ourselves in the role of relationship counselors more than once a month...

Life is good and I can't wait to go and see how it all turns out. But that clip was just so perfect for their planning -I just love it!

Love Portlandia (in tiny, tiny small doses)...

I like the one where the mayor turns out to be reggae ;)

Just so you know...Portland really, really isn't that weird. We're weird, true, but Portlandia is just...um...beyond the norm. Mostly. Sometimes. Oh, heck, ya gotta be pretty odd to be a true Portlander.

I feel like a lot of the sketches would be equally at home in most of Brooklyn too. My favorite was the dog tied up outside the cafe that they let free. Minus the letting free part, I witnessed an almost identical situation a few weeks ago.

I have a friend (here in PDX) who dislikes Portlandia because she says it's too realistic to be funny...

I love it because it really does take real Portland attitudes/occurrences and just push them a couple of steps further. You gotta laugh at yourself sometimes, right?
