A great thread!
Would someone who has a computer brain, (apparently the instructions I copied down for myself on how to post links were not sufficient and I'll have to rework and try again ), please provide the link so the COTH folks can enjoy? It is in the "competition riders" section.
Thanks!

Did you look at all 10 pages?
The little dog's photo in the middle of all
those horse pics was a good laugh.:D

Some of those horses on the forum would jump a lot rounder if their riders had heard the word "release" or "allow" in their lessons. The junior equitation classes in North America have produced an unbeatable style in the riders...well, not the current hunter style, but the classic style of a secure seat and balance(Eeek, I'm outta here now.)

Nikki is stylish...Cor de la Breyer?

^Nope! TB through and through (Two Davids x Dormez). :) Might be related way, way back, as Cor de la Breyer is 1/2 TB, but when I glanced at his pedigree, I didn't find any commonalities.

Lovely horse supershorty ,and TB as well!

Foxtrot, a little release by some of those riders surely wouldn't hurt, but they put themselves out there to show their horses' ,"how high can you get your legs" jump moment, not their best EQ photos. Be a sport..;)

Sorry - not feeling grumpy today, but more release would allow more roundness.

I agree more release would be good but I think most of those are surprise moments. We've all had those. I wish I had one particular pic to add to the discussion but it's at home. :((

When you get home ,maybe you can dig up this thread and add your pic. Would love to see it!

Shorty.... your TB mare is loffly!!

Here's my addition,
Peanut, my 13.3hh powerhouse. Sadly, they didn't have Pony Jumpers when I was showing her. She could have fit in that division nicely :D
This is from 1996 Pony Medal Finals.

None that I know of. We thought about breeding her a few years ago, but I was still campaigning her pretty much year-round (as opposed to now where I just do a few shows during the spring/summer). At this point, my vet feels pretty strongly that we should not breed her; she's 16 and he thinks it wouldn't be a good idea. If I could afford ET, I'd look into that, but that's not really an option for me financially.

Ha that was my first thought when I was the thread, especially with her penchant for seeing invisible rails.

Here is mine from an IHSA horse show. I think the horse got the memo open is supposed to be 3ft but the jump crew didn't...

While my horse isn't always the tidiest w/ his knees, he makes up for it by flinging the rest of himself high enough into the air that his legs can do whatever they want.
This (http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Lonely_Equine2/P1270250.jpg) or this (http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Lonely_Equine2/P1260975.jpg), for example (http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Lonely_Equine2/P1140893.jpg), is completely normal (http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Lonely_Equine2/P1270273.jpg) for him.

Some of those are great.
Some, I don't really get why people think jumping 6 inches over a jump is considered over jumping....

Anywho. This is my sister's old mare. She was notorious for over jumping. She jumped this high over everything:

A little less but a bigger jump:

Everyone's always looking for a good thoroughbred mare, just dawned on me you had one. Don't know if she's "breeding material" to the sticklers, but her record & athleticism are sure worth something. With all the TB lovers abound I almost thought someone would have stepped up and said, Hey, I'll take an embryo!

teehee I gotta add mine:

The red pony's reaction to his first vertical, I was NOT prepared:

form has significantly improved a bit, though if I were a bit better over-fences rider I'm sure it would be even better lol!

My old boy, Vega. The footing was really wet and sloppy and he didn't like to touch fences so he jumped extra hard!! It's a video

I have seen that argument on the page, and it is possible , however even upside down it doesn't look like a "horse rolling". I tend towards taking the poster at their word.

It's been photoshopped and they forgot to add the pony's shadow. ;)

You can see the shadow behind the horse and down. If the horse was upside down, how would her mane be almost straight up?
