I've decided I want one as a show bridle. It comes in nut or brown - they look pretty much the same on-line. Anybody have any suggestions/advice as to which one to choose?

They are pretty different colors in person. Nut is lighter and more orange-y although it oils to a very nice color. I have the Imperial in Brown and prefer it on my chestnut. What color is your horse?

What color is your saddle? I have the Imperial in nut and it is a nice color...just not a really deep dark brown. More reddish brown, if that makes sense. It matched my calf Antares, but not not my Butet.

I have a county stabilizer, not sure how to describe the color, it's not real dark.

Here's a picture of the nut colour, all oiled up and on a bay - Nut Arc de Triomphe Imperial bridle (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/30597_432053781210_598196210_5955980_2687473_n.jpg ). Here's another close up (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/40016_455378466210_598196210_6586444_5561466_n.jpg ) on the same horse, and here it is at a bit of a distance (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/391548_10150426059751211_598196210_10322790_128817 9200_n.jpg) on yet another bay.

Hope the pictures work, and that it helps a bit with your decision!

For comparison, I found some old pics of mine as well. Its oiled and about a year used on a chestnut.

Here is the snaffle bridle: http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/421255_10151420689960644_760575643_23890525_198032 5964_n.jpg

And better lighting, but this is the figure 8: http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/416976_10151420691420644_760575643_23890530_960912 701_n.jpg

(The figure 8 is the same bridle, I just switched out the nosebands.)

Is this the nut colour?

I much prefer the nut, the ADT brown is a dull and muddy shade IMO. And once oiled and used with regular cleaning/conditioning the nut color can become a deep rich color, very attractive.

I have the brown and oiled, it's very very dark. Looks black on my black horse.
