Is anyone planning on going to the Sporthorse Auction in VA this weekend? Buying or selling?

No, but since you posted...that doesn't sound like a bad idea for this weekend!

Any chance it will be available to watch online?

Not sure, they usually are online so i would assume yes! I happen to be selling and maybe buying this time but i always like going to watch when it is nice out if we arent showing.

I am thinking about going. I've been half-heartedly looking for a hunter project to bring along. The entries look a bit lighter this year, so I'm debating on going. The rational side of me says not to go ($$$), but I always enjoy going to watch. And sometimes when I go to "watch," I even bring my trailer just in case

I will be there Friday afternoon to look at a horse. That will determine if I will be there on Saturday afternoon. ;)

What horses are you guys looking at? Do you think look interesting?

Just got the catalogue this week. I am not too impressed with the horses/ponies listed. Thoughts?

I tend to agree. The entries are fairly light too. I was bummed to see that Chad Keenum didn't have any in the sale- I always enjoyed watching his nice horses:yes:

I checked back on the PAS website and all of the Star Hill horses are out:
Hip # 52, 58, 64, 70, 96, 106 and 116 are OUT. The Star Hill Consignment has been withdrawn due to a death in the family.
Our condolences to Mike Annello and his family.

They had a couple that sounded interesting.

I really liked the horse I looked at today. Now it is just up to Mr. SSR to say "go for it!", but no guarantee there...

There were no other horses there that fit what I was interested in (although I wil say that a few of the ponies were super cute), and I didn't really see anyone trying horses, either, which you normally do on Fri afternoon/eveing. I think turnout will be pretty light tomorrow.

If anyone went, can you let me know how much #60, Elfenperlenkette, went for today?

Wanted to go, but couldn't make it. I bought a horse there last year, from sidesaddlerider and am more than pleased with my purchase. It is so much more than an "auction". Even though I didn't ride mine first, I saw him in multiple classes and had him vetted. I would encourage anyone looking for a horse to go!

Wish I could have made it this year. Let us know how it goes!

When I went to their site all I could find were way outdated results of previous sales. When I worked TB sales for Fasig-Tipton there was an immediate printout, ticker tape style, going of sale prices/ no sales etc. I'm guessing PAS doesn't operate this way ?

Anyone know if hip#13 sold and if so for how much? I bred this pony and have been worried about him since the person I sold him to 9 years ago sold him last year without letting me know :( I'd love to know he's okay...

In the past, it seems like it takes them at least a week (usually more) to get the results posted online.

He sold for $2350 from what the notes in my catalog said. He looked good and was marching around with a kid on him :)
