That is exactly why I guessed boy, that is how Bugs looked, but not quite as fat. The other mare at my farm had a low hanging belly but not as round on the sides. She had fillies.

I've got to lug at least 15 gallons of water from the house to the barn in the morning before farrier comes out plus get stalls done. You sit and watch until your numb! Last year, my TB (Reno) pawed and carried on for 18 hours. I was ready to kill her. The last 2 hours she was running backwards, hitting the wall, rearing a couple of inches, and then bucking. Then she would frantically dig with both front feet at the same time. I started stressing. I called my vet and of course the foal hit the ground 5 minutes before the vet got here. She broke her water while bucking. She circled for 30 minutes (foal legs sticking out, of course) and when she finally layed down, one big push and the foal whushed out in one big plop. Really strange delivery ... much different than her first two.

Morning all - 5:14 mst and no babies het. Annie ast Strohben quarters looks (to my admittely amature eyes) like she might be doing something really soon though. She's laying flat legs kind of tensed, then up on her chest, then flat again.

If things get better with age, I'm nearing perfection!

I've been watching Annie and Frosty all night. The two of them are just major teases!!! I thought for sure I would have seen a baby by now. Drat them!!!!

Unless the blessed events occur in the next 25 minutes I'm outta work for the night and out of luck unless they wait untill tonight!

Looks like Frosty got an "exam" just now. I don't know if it was the vet or not.. but they had a glove on. Checked her teats and palpated her, it looked like. I wonder if she is going to foal in the daytime?

Well here it is, AFTERNOON of the next day (thinking she couldn't possibly hold on) and she pacing that stall like crazy. I noticed she wasn't eating her hay (surprising considering her appetite earlier) and 2! people have been in to examine.
First a quick check of the mummaries, then a more indepth (no pun intended) look under the tail.
Of course, as soon as they leave, she stops pacing and starts eating again.
That mare! I'm beginning to believe there IS no baby, it's all that HAY she keeps inhaling!

Morning Frosty! I can't believe she hasn't had her foal yet! I left my computer on all night and popped in whenever I woke up to take a peak. I was sure she would have had it last night! Now I have to go to town and do some chores today so how about waiting to, oh about 4:00 my time! That would sure be convenient! (Yah right, when has a mare ever worried about convenient!!)
