I've always been fascinated. My aunt had horses and I got to ride them. When I was 9 my best friend started taking riding lessons and I begged and begged and begged and I got some lessons as a Christmas present. I haven't looked back since!

I got started at a young age. My uncle raised apple -loosas and I sat on my first horse at 6 months. I think I caught the bug then because my mom said I LOVED it. I started taking lesson when I was 8 and started to lease when I was 14. Bugs is my first horse, I got her when I was 18. Frodo is my second. I don't think I have go a day without being in a barn since I was 10. I rode at Idlewilde farm until I got Bugs.

My brother and sister took a couple western lessons. Then I finally got one and I couldn't the horse to go. My little legs kicked but nothing, so they took me to the big arena where the hay was being delivered to put me on a lunge line. The phone rang the lady who had hold of the horse went to answer it, the truck went boom, the horse went OHHHH SHI**** and reared up. I hung on for dear life. I was 7 or 8 at the time. I still wanted a horse so I think my mom felt I had the fever after going through that and no being scared. So my grandad contributed $100.00 towards a Palomino Welsh Mountain pony. horsepoor- we had a mare in labor cast herself in the corner one night. Not a small mare either. Finally had to resort to attaching ropes from her legs to the tractor and veeeery gently rolling her over.

To top it off the foal had a major dystocia- head back and both legs back at the shoulders. It was a long night but everything turned out ok http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif She raised our orphan filly along with the colt born that night- was a great mom.

Wowelsh... I can give ya some of my colt's aloe vera juice if you do get an ulcer. AS for the question pages ago about how I started with the horsey bug... I was born with the bug. My sister rode when I was 18 months - 2 years old and I think I bugged my parent for a pony from then on. The trainer wouldn't start me until I was 6 or 7. Not too long after she quit training and I started at my current trainer's farm about 6-9 months later. I with that trainer (or my horses have) for 16 or 17 years. I didn't actually get my first horse until I was 13 or 14 though.

Well I am really late to the game, but I forgot how excited I was last year waiting for my mare to foal!! Damn, why didnt I bred this last year!! Oh well, there is always next year!
Frosty has me on the edge of my seat. I wish she would just hurry up already! My mare went so fast, I am not used to this long wait! Of course if I had thousands of people staring at my butt all the time too, I might be a little aprhensive my self!

I am back from the barn's late night bed check and see that the Frostmeister keeps smelling a certain place in her stall. Are we sure her water has not broken?

PS: The barn is 70' from my back door and I fell down twice getting there. It is one unholy sheet of glare ice EVERYWHERE tonight!
