Jilltx, she is a lovely mare as well! I am so missing out on having my own horsey babies. I bred my mare 2yrs ago to Rotspon and then sold her in foal, so no baby the following year. Then the last year I tried to get my mare bred and she wouldn't take. I was so depressed!! I will try again this year! I do miss the little patter of hooves though!

I don't know if I am brave enough to breed again...I almost had heart failure daily. It is very rewarding though I must admit and I still find myself "cruising" stallions on the internet. I'm getting a new mare next month that I would LOVE to breed (Ausie TB), but we'll see if I can muster the courage.

well I decided to try for a little color this year. Last year I had tried Rosario with no luck so this year it is color! I am breeding to black/white pinto Presley(Samber/Olympic Ferro), the palomino warmblood Mascaro (Mascarpone/Samber) and I won a breeding on e-bay to the AWS approved stallion Lancaster. So I have some BIG plans!

all i can say is holy crap. i've been reading this since page 18 (from where i stopped) and it keeps on growing and i've finally caught up. i will now have to post Indy baby pictures...he was too cute...but now, he's lame! ah. this pony is driving me nuts. sound thursday, sound friday, trot today and is dead as a doornail. the strangest thing. ultra sounded and xrayed clean last monday, and now my vet had her foot broken by a racehorse at the track on friday!

LI, I've been using the Hylaron from Horsetech and have have incredible results with in for Miss Liz. It has Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, vitamin C and HA all in one product.

She's been lame behind on and off for months due to arthritis, and is now moving sound almost 90 percent of the time...these really cold arctic days we are having still tend to bother her!

will be heading to equine affair this weekend (adelita...will you be there?) and will be stocking up on most everything (i think today is random night for hali...i am attempting or was until i started to read the thread, to knit...lol i pretty much stuck and cannot even get the first knot down). i was going to hold up on new bell boots for Gomez, but when we were hacking today, his left one flew off mid trot. i love my horse, he didn't even care, just kept on trotting lol.

will for sure stop there. we are going saturday and sunday...riding The Mez on friday and having the guys put indy on the hot walker and poltice/wrap him him on saturday. anybody have any funny wrap stories? indy will attempt to walk only on both front legs until you take back wraps off of him. he hates them! is fine with polos, but no standings. is fine on the front...couldn't care a bit. but the backs...that's a funny sight.

Different than the others. She is in labor, but not pushing and has not broken water yet. She seems to really like it when we are in the stall with her, almost being pushy she's so clingy. And she's never pushy! If you let her she will lean on you or hang her head on your shoulder and also is putting her muzzle right up to your face and breathing in your breath. We've had periods of baby shifting, contractions, pacing and pacing and pacing, lots of head tossing, Flehman's Posture (not sure I'm spelling that right; I'm talking about the lips open like a yawn, stretched up in the air) and she is ready. Everything's a "go" except the baby is not here! LOL Fortunately the dripping milk is not streaming so we are hopeful the foal will still have plenty of colostrum to drink when it's born to transfer those good antibodies. We will test the foal the day after it's born with an Igg to make sure. Thank you for your company Buddies. We are simply staying up tonight! "

i have to get up so super early to hand walk the pony and put gomez in a tiny paddock (i'm going to attempt to let his heels heal from over reaching) if it is not raining (well even if it is, pony still is gonna get hand walked). then to breakfast with my 2 year old cousin (who has ridden indy...we took indy to the softball field at the barn where we live and road around on the grass) and my grandmother and my parents, then learning how to knit lol. should be entertaining... one of them needs to pop a baby out SOON!

After delivery there is a "transfer" that occurs. If disrupted prematurely you can have a weak foal or one with a poor immune response. It does not always cause problems for the foals, though.

5 min to 45 min is normal. After 2hrs the afterbirth is considered to be retained. I am reading this in my breeding book.

I CANNOT believe when I left last night you were at page 20 and now we're at page 50! And a whole new group of watchers are here!
