I incubated 6 eggs out of a friends buff orpingtons. Three hatched Sunday. 2 were infertile and one died in the shell before hatching.

As the pic shows... a young roo snuck where he did not belong.

'This the time, everyone is having little ones here too.
My neighbor is doggedly trying to keep some of his cows in this drought, has been feeding them every bite for a year now, no end in sight and they are in great shape.
They are also having several calves a day and everyone around here can't quit talking about them,.
I think they are making excuses just to drive by to see them.

Nothing as heartwarming in our tough times as those tiny calves playing tag, bringing some hope.

Awwww, sweet peeps! I love Orpingtons, such great birds. I went on a hatching spree last year so I don't know if I'll add any little ones this year... It's gonna be hard to resist the call (peeps?) of the fuzzy butts though :)

They're precious. :D

Which is the boy?

I was looking at hatching eggs on Ebay a few days ago. Pics like this make it so tempting... :)

Fortunately I live in town...hehe. I went to the feed store the other day to get a few things for my horse and they had tons of baby chicks and some bunnies. Of course I had to look, but no purchase for me.
