Nice pic. He looks like a fun horse.

But 'baby'? Your baby doesn't look very baby. How old is he?

(I ask because my young horses look like weanlings until they're about 6.)

He is 5!! Well technically 6 by the jockey club :)
ETA: he has filled out a TON in the past 6 months. He has grown at least 1.5 inches, and put on weight and topline :)

One of my mares grew two inches at the end of her five year-old year between December and April. I went to visit her and didn't recognize her at all, which is embarrassing as I'd bred her myself.

My current OTTB, who will be 4 on March 4, is rather lanky but has put on some muscle and topline (!!). He's 16.3hh behind and a little shorter up front -- there's lots of growing left to do. I haven't jumped him yet but his ridden work is coming along nicely.

Pie was rump high when I got him, too! I had a feeling he would grow up in front... and he did!! :)

So fun to watch them grow up!

Yes. I try to remind myself of this when Danny is standing on two legs, with me at the other end of the lead rope.

And no, this behaviour is not tolerated here. He is mostly exceptionally good. But he's a lot taller than what I'm used to dealing with.
