Nothing can beat the Stanley tool boxes which make the best tack trunks. However, I am at a H/J barn that will not let me keep my trunk out because it is black and plastic. So, I need a trunk cover.
What dimensions did you guys use when ordering a cover for these? I am home from school and would like to order one before I head back.

OK so I do not know how helpful this will be, but the "standard" size trunk that I've seen everyone with out here is the same as the Stanley trunk, I tried one on mine :) . I believe it is this size:

But I'm not positive....

I think I've seen them linked to on previous Stanley trunk threads, maybe try a search?

Keep in mind that there are two sizes of the Stanley trunks.

There is a 50 gallon trunk

and a 24 gallon trunk

I have the 50 gallon and would also be interested to know sizing. From looking at several websites for covers, it looks like I'd have to go custom. But wondering if I should provide the dimensions given by Stanley webpage or is there some known tricks about cover ordering (ie. smaller/larger then measure). And like the OP asked, if you've ordered a cover for your Stanley, did you find a premade or did you custom order and if so, can you talk about how/where you did it?

Here are links to two threads I found doing a search:

http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251345&highlight=stanley+cover

The search terms were "stanley+cover", there were other threads, but these two should get you going in the right direction.

I personally would move if they did not LOVE my Stanley trunk with it's natural dust cover. I am laughing all the way to the bank. Ha ha ha!!!!!

haha I know. It is stuck in the tack room, but the facility is the best in the area, trainers are amazing, and the care cannot be compared to. So, if my tack trunk being stuck in the tack room is my biggest problem, it is a great barn to me :)

When I eventually get around to getting a cover for my Stanley trunk, I'll have one made by the Clothes Horse. Katrina does lovely work, and has made covers for Stanley trunks before, so she knows what she's doing (and may even have measurements on file!)

Alternatively, I've heard tell that Smartpak's XL trunk cover will fit a Stanley trunk.
