Ok, so let's make a list of the most used supplements and who has the best price!

Great price on the hylamotion horsepoor - how could I have missed that site? They seem to have decent prices on most things..

Vetwarehouse does have the best price I have seen on Adequan - http://www.heartlandvetsupply.com/cart/product_info.php?cPath=2_42&products_id=976

How about Fluid Action by Finish Line? I know you can get a free sample through the website but who has the best price? With and Without HA?

Has anyone found any differences between the liquid and the powder?

Foxhound
Nov. 16, 2004, 06:59 AM
Country Supply has the best price for Corta-Flex that I have found.
http://www.countrysupply.com/products/sku-BWS25__dept-45.html

I don't know about Fluid Action, but I have noticed that liquid Corta-Flex seems to work better than the powder. I think it is a different formulation, so it is more easily absorbed by the horses.

www.americanlivestock.com (http://www.americanlivestock.com) usually has the lowest prices on vetrap. They often run a "special" on it that lasts forever.

There's a place called Mountain Supply or something, Simikie gave me the info, that has Corta-RX with HA for the same as regular Corta-Flx (like $21/month). No catalogue, but if you call they'll ship!

If Simikie would post the info, I think I threw away the # she gave me anyways. Drats!

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what about MSM - who's got good prices?

DJ
Nov. 17, 2004, 03:17 PM
For Quitt, I used to get it from American Livestock Supply (I buy the monster size)but last time Jeffers Vet supply had the best price. For MSM and a brewer's yeast, I use G-P Products. They have lots of great prices. All of these have websites, but I don't know how to attach them. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/sigh.gif

I get:

from GP Direct (http://www.buygpdirect.com). I did a bunch of comparisons and I can feed the amounts I want for the best prices from here.

Ooops, just saw this thread, TheJenners!

Mountain Vet Suply is in Fort Collins, CO. They carry the Gateway products, Vita-Flex products and Corta-Flx products. I think they also have Cosequin and a few others. No catalogue--this is a small, local company--but they're very nice to deal with, and will ship to you. I don't think they'll ship to Canada, after having some trouble getting Gastrogard across the border. Could be wrong on that, though.

Their phone number is 970.484.2200.

What size wug do you need? Do you care if it is the new version or the old one. Equine collections is currently having a sale. Equiteric bought a whole bunch of the last model and they are selling them 20% bellow retail but they only have certain size, I think I saw lots of 81" and 84" no 78" and some other sizes as well.

Do you care for a rhino wug? I just bought a heavy weight one with full neck for $149 from Dover.

Hope this helps!

Rambo Wug Lites for $190 from the www.tackroominc.com (http://www.tackroominc.com)

They are the new ones with the reflective tabs and boy do they fit nicely.

Note: This was not a replacement Rambo. The other ones I've had for five years and they still do their jobs nicely!

Well thanks everyone.

Panic over.

I paid the recommended price for a new RHINO heavyweight. But I earned LOTS of points from my tack store lady, who is pretty neat nonetheless! Good to give her the business.

Anyway... back to our regularly scheduled program.

Quitt-American Livestock or Jeffers

Vetwrap-American livestock
Hyla Motion-Equine USA ($51.99 for 2.5 + S&H)
EquinylCM-Valley Vet for $78—NO SHIPPING <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I'll move this to the first post if everyone thinks it's a good idea.

Thank you as I am torn between this product and Hylaron OTC; but it comes down to cost now and I think the second best product for me is the Four Flex. I plan to add Hyaluronic Acid to it as it has none, but does anyone know how much Vitamin C is recommended for best results, is 1,000 mg sufficient?

I have a tack link link that I have bought several close out sweat sheets and chaps. Very quick delivery as well. Tack Wholesale (http://www.tack-wholesale.com/)

Oldenburg Mom

I just got my Four Flex (gonna give it to the dog too http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gifI asked and they gave me an amout to feed him. I found the Four Flex seemed to have everything I wanted in an acceptable dosage. I can't remember where I ordered it from but I paid $114 for 2 tubs that last 2 months.

I had also gotten Hylamotion at the tack store 1lb for $44 http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif. I'm almost out of the MSM and Corta Flex HA I was giving my horse and when it's done I'm switching. I'll let you know how the combo works out.

Hey--somebody call Mountain Vet and see what their price is on HylaMotion. I'd do it, but I need to go collapse, as I've been awake for 48 hours. Damn teachers and their exams all on the same day. &lt;grumble&gt; &lt;yawn&gt;

And remember, they have Corta-RX with HA and Collagen for like $70 something. Works out to be under $20 a month.

I used four flex before switching over to Reitsport w/HA.

Four flex is a great product. It worked well for a TB that had bone chips and arthritis in his fetlocks.

I think the price has gone up for it since I have used it.

Country supply is the best. I constantly order from them, and from American Livestock supply. Customer service is great at both places - Country supply has a better shipping offer. They also do a price match guarantee, which I have used successfully twice. They don't have a huge selection, but they do have great prices!

I get a 4-lb bucket of EquinylCM from Valley Vet for $78 - the best part is that there's NO SHIPPING charge there! I second Simkie's suggestion of Mountain Vet Supply - I use them occasionally (set up an account before I moved out of Colorado) to order bandage supplies - they have soooooo much more than I can find anywhere on-line. I buy almost everything in bulk through KV Vet. I've compared prices before but either the other companies don't carry the supplements I use or there is a shipping charge that makes it equal out to the same price.

I always figure out the cost per ounce - like KV Vet's Pure MSM in the 40-lb. size ($159.95) is $.25 per ounce. I can't remember if there is a shipping charge but, if so, it's not more than $15 and it still figures out to $.28 per ounce. Compare that to the 4-lb. size of Pure MSM via American Livestock at $46 or $.72 per ounce. It pays to buy in bulk!!! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The only reason I switched from four flex was that I wanted to feed my horse stablized flax, biotin, and probiotics. I saw the horsetech product at the equine affaire, and it had everything I wanted in it! Me being a creature of laziness, it was attractive having it all premixed - and really with all the products in it, it is competitively priced. Here is the link to the reitsport HA : http://www.horsetech.com/ReitSport-HA-100.htm#Quick%20Links%20to%20Product%20Pages

The four flex product is rice bran based by the way.

I have been tempted to try the hylarx liquid, but I have been happy so I just keep ordering from horsetech. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Dec. 1, 2004, 02:52 PM
Well, be sure to add in the cost of a priobotics, biotin, B-vitamins supplements as well. That would be closer to what the reitsport has in it. Fastrack is a good priobotics supplement, but there are others out there - and be sure to find something that has at least 25mg of biotin.

It works out to be about $2.75 a day for the Reitsport HA.

Straigh HA runs at the cheapest about $1 a day anyway - so if you added HA to fourflex you are spending about $1.80 at the minimum per day already. Add in all the other stuff and it is roughly the same.
