Finging a picture is one of my top ten things to do. (Is finging legal??)

I don't think finging is legal--at least with horses involved.

I think numping could be considered more serious than finging...now FLINGING, that might be different. It could be contrued as flipping, and we all know that that is MORE than acceptable with horses, especially in the event world.

Last check, finging was illegal in 48 states. I was almost busted for transporting across state lines for finging once. You can get finged in Amsterdam but it will cost you. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Can you talk about fing and nump on a public board?

lilblackhorse
Feb. 24, 2004, 06:20 PM
I'm not sure--there's a distinct possibility that discussing finging a picture of a horse and actually finging a real horse might be different, and therefore not acceptable to discuss on a public board (unless it's porn)...as for numping? I've always thought that to be very wrong, and only for those sexually experimental horsepeople. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I remember it well. It was the end of the the day. A challenging and hard cross country course left me drained as I hung out by Shiver's stall sucking down the dregs of my Guinness. She came walking by grabbed my hand and took me off for another adventure. A vision she was, with a voice so husky it could drive a dog sled. Her finging did things to me I never thought possible. She straightend out parts of me that were never supposed to be straightend. And then she put on her socks... http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

not neccesarily. You only HAVE to wear socks. If you're going to go pro and wear heels too, it has to be the little white lacey-fruity ankle socks.

Scene opens.

Music comes up. (boom chickachachika twang wa wa wa... Propspony will fill in the rest).

Reed sits in a chair outside his trailer. He props his feet up on the running board.

It was a day and a night...and a day that I'll never forget. I think I rode Shiver at some point. She stepped down out of the living quarters with legs that wouldn't quit. They went to her shoulders and were continued on the next page. I sensed an air of satisfaction but I thought a good air freshener would fix that.

I once thought running cross country was better than numping, or finging, for that matter. She taught me a little fing followed by a good nump after XC was the ultimate experience. I thought XC was the only place I would yell "OH, GOD!" continuously for 6 minutes. She proved me wrong.

A shadow came across my face as I basked in the morning sun. "You!" he said. Legs just smiled, and the result of some of our previous numping jumped up in my lap. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

(I need Shiver to heal up and can we start the season so I can stop writing this stuff. The truck is fueled, the trailer loaded and Legs is ready.)

This is great. We've got the start to the screenplay/ novel, and Prospony is doing the music. We need someone to cast it, and someone to come up with a lurid poster (not person adding to a thread, but a large piece of artwork visually depicting some outrageous fantasy scene in which bodices are ripped or something.).

Yes, Reed, we all need spring to come NOW. But in the meantime, this is warming things up a bit!

Please try to keep it clean in regards to children; she is only 11 but not stupid and could tell what you guys are talking about.
As for her original question, I think she is looking for pictures that may be in Arabian Horse World or other Arabian publications from the 1980's and 1990's when importing Polish Arabians was a big deal and many of them were purchased for astronomical prices! We have been making a scrap book for 4-H and are looking for more history on our mare that we rescued.

Liretta,

I hope you understand we mean no harm, however as you point out it is impossible to tell if the poster really is the age she/he is. We have many adults listing their age in the teens and many teens listing their age as adults.

A question, why post an arabian question on the Eventing board? We eventers are a bunch of type A adrenaline junkies. A raunchy but fun loving sort so we tend to poke fun at anything that stikes us funny.

Again, no offense is intended. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey, I know you guys were having fun, and yes I agree she needs to spell check her writing, and why she posted on this board about finding pictures? I don't know. Our horse is not an eventer, but my daughter wants to be one, so she posts here because she is like the rest of you: she survives on adrenaline.
I know you didn't mean any harm, and really, I have no idea when she posted that because our internet has not been working...interesting.
I'm just trying to protect her which is my main job in life, but I also want her to grow up to be a normal woman, without issues about her sexuality. It's a tough place to be, especially with all the teen pregnancy that happens.

So, I apologize for ruining your fun, but my girl will be looking at these responses in the future...

Liretta, congratulations on being a great mom. I will take myself out behind the woodshed and be remorseful. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

But FYI, there have been a few threads on this BB (not usually eventing, by the way) that caused this adult to blush, while laughing, of course. Just be aware in case your daughter does a lot more reading than writing hereabouts.

lol, thanks to this thread I now have a great idea for class next week. I am a little worried about explaining the title (Numping and Finging) to my non horsie class mates. ps Liretta, since your daughter mentions her obsession with her boyfriend Wesley in her profile, maybe she knows more than you think she does?

And hoping that the event board is going to have a clue on anything about Arabians is going to be a stretch in itself....if this stuff worries you as a parent, (and I have two kids and have been there already), there are far worse threads here than that, so you might want to be warned. I'm sure there are junior boards where the topics are more tame if this is a concern.

Fortunately, Wesley lives about 40 miles from us, she only sees him about twice a year at the events his mother organizes and he helps with, they don't talk via e-mail, snail mail or on the phone, so although she is obsessed, there is no contact between them. The last time she saw him was in October and she wouldn't even talk to him. They spent the day looking at each other from "afar". I am not worried about her obsession with him because his mother is one of those who keeps him on a short leash! http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/winkgrin.gif

I would love to find a teen or pre-teen forum for her that was horse related, but so far no luck. If anyone has any ideas, plese post them.

HA on all of you! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Well almost all of you! I event and YES I might have exactly what you are looking for Liretta! I worked at an Arab show/breeding farm that imported Polish and Egyptian arabians. I have 2 arabs that I evented up to training (I was never much into the halter thing). Those arabs kind of fell into my lap. I own TB's (my first love) and a nice selle francais mare now. ANYWAY! I threw out most of my stuff (stupid, stupid, stupid) but (just finished looking in my filing drawer) and Yes, I have stuff on polish arabs. If you want to PT me please go ahead and we will be able to figure out a picture. I have an old (1975) publication (about 1/4 inch thick) of Bask's offspring too.

I have worked and ridden and bred the great racehorse NF Proof (the secretariat to arabian racing and darley horse of the year numerous times and last I heard many moons ago was doing nicely in dressage) and Sam Tiki and AK Sir Halima and so on. SO you see there are some eventers who know about Arabians! I hope I can help you out Liretta and Gardenia's Girl! Let me know!

How did I get into Arabs in the first place? A top level international eventer got me hooked - it's a long story!!

I also applaud your tenacity in defending your daughter.

goobs,
That Gardenia was the Bask daughter (lose the PASB), who was owned by Ventura Farms, sold for a ridiculous amount of money, and was born before my mare.
*Gardenia PASB (stands for Polish Arabian Stud Book which is used in Poland) was born in 1978 at Janow Podlaski in Poland, raced in Europe until she was 4, shown, bred to Balon at age 7, then was imported in 1985 to Foxmoor Arabians of Ocala, Florida where she lived for an undetermined number of years. She had three foals for them. She was acquired by Betsy Burger of Burger Racing stables (no transfer of ownership took place), bred to her stallion Wielke Raz at least once, then sold at auction in 1998. She came to Michigan via Dr. James Budd, and somehow ended up in the auction circuit. I acquired her in October 2001 for $450 - a fraction of her value. She has no show or race record in the US.
Thanks anyway.

If she is in any AHW mags it would be around the mid-eighties since she wasn't imported until 1985.

How very grown up of you to come on a horse board and spew this kind of crap. You need to grow up a bit, and get your mouth (or fingers) and temper under control.

I try to avoid the personal attacks that happen on these boards, but aren't you the same person who made some disparaging comment about a misspelled word in someone's signature while your own proclaimed that you were a member of the "elippses" clique? Think before you type.
If you don't have something nice to say -- to a kid who just wanted to find a picture of her horse -- why say it? And you're right, stupidity *should* be painful.

Existential/rhetorical question of the day:

Why is there always ONE snarky thread floating around near the top of this BB? Heaven knows I'm glad it's not MORE...is it a small thread of "uppity" that percolates up to the surface and must be acknowledged? An inability to let things pass? (Lord knows I am guilty of that one!) A need to balance "yin" and "yang"? Kind of a Feng Shui thing--gotta have a little negative energy? http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif

While I see no burning need to jump on GG, given what she has posted here and elsewhere on the COTH boards, I find it ironic, to say the least, that her mother is giving anyone static about the stuff that they have posted.

Maybe better sit down with GG and work on her presentation first.

Erin,
I only have a problem with the tone of the messages. Yes, I remember when I was 11- anyone who knows me knows it wasn't too long ago- hated math and a little into the boy thing. I also know that I would have been smacked unconscious for acting like that. (Now, my parents were a bit on the more strict side with both of us kids, but IMO, it paid off for me. And, BTW, I am not saying anything about Loretta's mothering- just stating what would have happened had I done some of these posts.) At that age I was only allowed on the internet if a parent was in the room with me. Please read other posts by her, and I think you'll understand where I am coming from. I am not out to "get" anyone, but I am pointing out that she loses respect from others for herself when she continues to post in this manner. (I am not talking about her spelling either. I am quite the bad speller, and have no room to critisise. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif)

Wow, has this ever gotten blown out of proportion!

First of all, I was just trying to prevent this thing from getting too adult for my daughter.

Second, everyone misspells and I didn't defend her. I told her if she is going to post she needs to make sure she spells correctly.

Third, I don't claim to be a super mom, but I am trying to guard her and what she is exposed to. I cannot watch everything she does all the time, and I agree that she does need to be talked to about her posts and the content. I don't like her responses and I told her so.

Fourth, she has been suspended from the board because of her age, the fact she lied about her age, and because I have not signed a consent form.

And by the way, she is not mature enough to ignore what is being said about her or me on the board. She is 11, curious and wants to fit into the older groups.

I will not apologize for chastising anyone's behavior. I did comment that I knew you guys were having fun, but since my daughter started the topic, I knew she would return to it and read the replies, and they were becoming too adult for her.

Now, can we please move on?

I was just surfing the net one day and remembered the good old chronical of the horse, and decided to check up on the website. I then browsed the site and came upon the forum board and decided to take a look at some of the longer threads. This happened to be the one I choose and I read the entire thing. Needless to say i registered for lack of control over wanting to talk to all of these witty and hilarious characters! I was just wanting to ask when the next installment in <Numping, Finging, and Gromming; A Tale of Passion in the Eventing Chat Forum> will be released to the presses?!?! This is much to entertaining to give up on now. Hmmm. Being in the horse business, I can't really afford to keep a pool boy or a gardener, but from what you're saying, you need them for the numping, and the finging. Do they share those duties, or would they specialize, and the poolboy only numps while the gardener fings? Can you get by with only one or the other (gardener/poolboy) or would you have to have both? Assuming that you want a rich and fulfilling life. And then, the gromming. Who's responsible for that, or can we just do that on our own?

After consultation with a local DQ (ick), I was told that anyone who is not a DQ or HP most definitely has no need (or funds) for a pool boy or gardener.

She also disdainly relayed to me that gromming is the relatively new concept of finging or numping without the presence, consultation and/or approval of the resident BNT. I got the rather distinct impression that finging and numping with "the help" and not the BNT is considered a terrible faux pas often made by DQ wannabes. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/winkgrin.gif
