View Full Version : Winter Boots

I'm new on this forum and I have a question about your opinions about winter boots. I'm not actually looking at these boots to ride in since I don't have my horse with me in vet school, but I really dislike all the other winter boots out there (all the fluff, etc.) so I keep coming back to these. I'm looking for a boot that will be waterproof, comfortable to wear (i.e. would you wear it to the barn for the day?), and large enough in the calf that I can tuck my jeans into. That may be asking a lot ;).

I really really like the Treadstone Aspens http://www.vtosaddlery.com/product/WINTERBOOT/TAWB.htm

and the Middleburgs http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_X1-38752

Any comments on these? Any one have any other suggestions? I'd love to get a pair of Dubarry's but ... that's not quite in my vet school budget

I did look at these but I am not a fan, though I know my sister would love those.
I personally LOVE the Mountain hourse Stella Polaris boots I just bought. They are so comfortable and I can get away with wearing them around town as winter boots. They are very girly, stylish and add a bit of fun to wearing winter boots.

BTW try eBay. I bought mine for half the retail price.

I have the middleburgs and I love them! I do all my barn work in them, hose them off, and then hop on and ride. They're a little clunky to ride in, but they're great barn work boots. I've worn them to school a few times when it was nasty weather out and got tons of compliments. They're also nice and warm. I highly recommend these! Mine are still going strong through their second season of abuse.
