Looks like they have a nice selection of used saddles to chose from. I have a client who is looking to purchase a nice used saddle, but we are in an area that isn't necessarily horse-laden. Any experience with this site? Would it be strange to ask our local CWD rep be able to bring some used options for us to try?

Did you check out Fineusedsaddles? She is great to work with and usually has a nice selection of top shelf saddles

I bought a used Antares from CWD this spring, and had a great experience. I didn't work with a rep, I bought direct off the website (I knew exactly what I needed), and Amandine was a pleasure to work with.

Amandine at CWD is fantastic to deal with as is Patricia at fineused. They are both as helpful as can be :)
I have also gotten a used saddle through a rep so it sounds like your client should be able to find the perfect fit through one of these avenues.

I have a new CWD, and I have been told that they have the site as a courtesy to their clients who are buying new saddles from them. The used saddles are all checked, cleaned, oiled, and repaired if needed. I do not know if the local rep will bring the saddles to you, because they are all at the California office. The reps might bring saddles to CWD clients, but I would not expect them to do that for someone who is buying the used saddles. It never hurts to ask!

Good luck in the saddle search.

The reps will bring saddles that they carry as part of their stash. If you want a saddle from the CA stock you will need to pay the shipping (I think $50). Best bet is to get a hold of a rep and have them bring some saddles out for you to try. They will get an idea of what you need and watch their used list or call other reps to get one in. My CWD rep was awesome and extremely knowledgable.

Call your local rep, they always travel with a large assortment of used French saddles. When I bought my new CWD, the rep had a truckful of used Antares and Devoucoux, as well as used CWDs, so I got to try a bunch of different brands with a variety of options, all in one trip.

I would definitely trust buying a saddle off the used site as well.

I bought a lovely Antares from them 2 years ago. Great customer service and a great saddle for a great price. I couldn't be happier.

Am I missing something or do they not list the tree size anywhere? I need a wide and cannot find where they say what size the tree is

ETA: I think I got it, tree size is the "Dot to Dot" right? What is typical of a wide tree, anyone know?

I have a CWD with a generous medium tree at 4.5", so I think wide is anything over that...

I've had good luck with Antares's used saddle site, www.frenchusedsaddles.com (http://www.frenchusedsaddles.com/)
