View Full Version : Looking for a kid's trainer in Katy!
Nov. 20, 2011, 08:04 PM
Does anyone know a good trainer in Katy who is good with kids? My best friend in Houston (who lives in Katy -duh) has a 10 year old daughter who is crazy about horses and who wants to learn how to ride. To start they will need a place with lesson horses, but if things go well they'll get a safe horse for the girl to show.
Thank you for any recommendations!

the op said both "Houston" and "Katy" in their post so I'm assuming Texas..

Try Insight Farm. I think they are close to there, and have a great bunch kids. Sent you PM about who to avoid.

Thank you so much!
Sorry I meant Katy, Texas - just West of Houston.

The list is by major city area.

Liza Richardson, Hunter's Run Farm, is very close to Katy. Liza is super sweet, very honest, and her clients adore her. I'd suggest checking her out.
Edited to add link.

This guy is in Sealy, and does cow horses, but from what I have been told, he is great with teaching the basics of good horsemenship to beginners. Clint Rayley (or Railey).

I didn't know Liza's was close to Katy but would definitely second it. She's great!

I know her farm is in Fulshear, and she told me recently that it was about ten minutes from GSEC.
